This MV is the 'Thriller' of KPop. Game changing. I'm so bummed I missed the Wings era, which is probably my fave. So much to chew on, and the songs, the choreo, the visuals, are all so amazing. Namjoon thought they had hit their peak with this era, and you can see why. And I don't get what is the big deal with 'Expensive Girl'. I find the song hilarious and NJ is my ultimate bias! He was a kid when he recorded it, and it's a part of his history as an artist. Maybe he is still embarrassed by it, maybe he isn't, but it exists so to pretend it doesn't, doesn't make much sense to me. React to it on Patreon if you're worried about getting censored by YT or 'cancelled' by your subscribers! I'd love to watch you react to it.

Chasing Autumns Ohhhh that's the song everyone is freaking out about? Have they never listen to the Top Hits? Or Rap music? Like, I'm pretty sure a lot of artists have a song like that. Can you tell that I don't care about the drama? Lol I love and respect Namjoon, but it's apart of him now.
@jhopeur72194 жыл бұрын
It was a cover. It's not part of his "history as an artist." He literally just sang someone's else's song and then he was embarrassed by it and deleted it. Fine, you find it funny. So does every anti out there. Joon clearly doesn't. I fundamentally don't get being like "react to this song my fave regrets singing! It's not actually that bad but it's so the opposite of who he actually is that it's kind of shocking and hilarious and we can all get a good laugh out of it!" Like the man has several early works that actually are his and reflect his genius. If he's your ult, maybe you'd like to share those with people...

I agree with your thought process regarding seeing the whole body of work vs. the pieces that are accepted as of a certain quality standard. To get to know an artist we must be a witness to their journey ... all of their journey.

I genuinely wish reaction channels would treat all of BTS' soundcloud releases with this much curiosity or obsession (you know every other song except the ONLY song/cover that has ever been deleted) it is a COVER. BTS has 8 years, 19 mini-/Album, singles, official covers and original soundcloud releases ........ maybe start with those and stop caring about a cover from a decade ago so much - just a suggestion.
@jhopeur72194 жыл бұрын
But ExG wasn't a part of his artistic journey. It's a cover. He has a dozen other pre-debut songs on Soundcloud (they actually have a ton of songs on there). People suggest ExG bc they get a laugh out of the shock factor. What does that song contribute to Namjoon's story? What part of him do you think that substantively speaks to? If you really think it's a significant part of his journey--more significant than the half a dozen songs on his first mixtape this guy hasn't listened to, or any of the many many b-sides he's written and composed, or his several touching and poetic endments--than you really must think dust of Namjoon.
@eupetrosarktou78664 жыл бұрын
You are absolutely right about needing to learn about a person's mistakes! Here's what Namjoon said in the UNICEF speech: "Maybe I made a mistake yesterday, but yesterday’s me is still me. I am who I am today, with all my faults. Tomorrow I might be a tiny bit wiser, and that’s me, too. These faults and mistakes are what I am, making up the brightest stars in the constellation of my life. I have come to love myself for who I was, who I am, and who I hope to become." ###

When the album Wings came out, B.S.&T.. was the song that sealed the deal for me... BTS weren't just churning out popular songs like Dope or Fire, I knew that they were true artists. Never regretted it, and 2016 was before they were such a globally known icon of pop music... They were famous in Korea, and some Asian countries, but that was it... I'm glad you finally came around to listening this song, a true masterpiece. By the way, maybe you should consider a live stream (you're so good at it now... lol) to watch the series of short films they released in that period. Each members tells a personal story, a coming-of-age story, of course; it is so well done. Here's the first one, to get you going... kzbin.info/www/bejne/r4OaZHxmr5qgqZI That was a second proof, as if I needed one back then, to realize just how thoughtful and great artists BTS are. They are not just a "boy band". it infuriates me when the media describes them as a "boy band", they bring BTS down to the One Direction level when they are leagues ahead...
@Launibu4 жыл бұрын
The very first time I ever heard or saw bts was on Jimmy Fallon when they did "idol" and "I'm fine" I loved them immediately and then fell down the rabbit hole. So I agree, "idol" is a great song.
@jhopeur72194 жыл бұрын
On your point about Joon's early song, I think you're giving it too much credit. It didn't represent a low or an evil or a significant example of a different him. It was literally a cover he did (he did nothing with it artistically) when he was feeling conflicted about being an idol and still trying to fit in with hip-hop nobodies he was already way better than. If you feel like you want to see it, fine. But you have a platform and people just use it as an opportunity to laugh at him or embarrass him. So I get your point about seeing all sides of someone to know them, but knowing that he once covered a song that isn't even as explicit or bad as some hit songs today doesn't accomplish this. It doesn't represent a side of him. It's just a dumb thing he did. Idk...he's just been very clear about how he feels about it and it was over a decade ago...it just feels disrespectful to drag it up and laugh about it with a bunch of Baby ARMYs and antis. (Cause I can tell you, most ARMYs will not click on it. I usually take it as my cue to unsubscribe.) Anyway, I think your reactions are very thoughtful, generally. I don't think you'll get anything of value out of reacting to a dumb cover about a sexy girl. Just my opinion. He has half a dozen other songs from around that time that are way more reflective of his prodigious talents and all of the b-sides on his first mix are fire. React to those. I promise you'll get a better picture of who RM was and you'll enjoy the song too (EG isn't even a banger...it's just boring. I personally wonder what kind of humor you have to have to enjoy it. It's like a 6th grader laughing at a swear word.)

I was just discussing it with a friend yesterday of how cool it is that you can not get into BU at all and still appreciate them or you can get into just a little bit, just to watch the trailers and all that, or go deeper and read the notes, or go deeper and read the webtoon, or even deeper and read Demian etc. And at any point you can just stop and the story will be great just hinting about more, even if you get to the bottom of it because it won't ever be fully explained to the very end because there are too many metaphors and symbols in it. This notion that you can stop at whatever level you are comfortable and not lack anything anything crucial is honestly so amazing to me. PS I personally recommend to watch Blood sweat and tears dance practice because the MV was so busy feeding us philosophy it skipped over the dance so much and it's a great choreo!

What you are watching is just the Explanation to blood sweat and tears you should now watch BTS story line explosions but there is still something you need to watch like make sure you watch Bts Japanese Fake Love because that also implies to the story just search on KZbin Bts Japanese MV and is should show up. Also you should definitely watch Bts jungkook Euphorium and after that PLEASE watch Bts Love your self Highlight Reel that is a big big part of the story and lastly is to read Bts WEBTOON story because that story has a Big impact in this story as it explains what Jin is doing in all this and what he’s trying to accomplish. A lot of people don’t read the story and that is ok but when you watch the Bts story line explosions it will still explain it to you but you might have not known a lot of thing that go along with this story. OHH and also in the beginning of the explosions video it talks about something important that is when Bts FIRST start like the in the MV Boy In Luv so you should watch that to 😁

Have you ever watched the "Classical Musicians React" series? They really do a great job of breaking down the music. Plus it's really fun to watch them go crazy trying to figure out the organ pice that Suga was playing. When I watched Blood, Sweat and Tears I saw a lot of imagery of temptation and snippets of the seven deadly sins. I loved the absinth references and the green smoke had some serious opium den vibes. Fun stuff! I have a degree in lit so I love the deep dive stuff and references to literature.

The only shame about their discography is that it's "surprising" to hear a good amount of Hoseok in a song. If a person has been mostly listening to their newer stuff, then it's shocking to go back to their older songs and to hear more of the rappers, especially Hobi. He's incredible at emoting through rap AND vocals. Not sure why they don't utilize him more. BST? Live versions of SD? Outro Tear? I love all of the guys, but I honestly would like to hear more than 1.5 lines from him. Butter was Dynamite part 2 :( I absolutely love him in the dance break for butter but dance breaks should not replace actual lines in a song.

ARMYs doesnt want you to react to it witha video bec ANTis will go on and hate RM again. stirring up controversy.... even RM already said he doesnt want it anymore. you can watch and listen to it all you want privately. maybe you dont really understand the POV of ARMYs with this one. 😣

Everyone has a different view on everything. He is an ARMY, you are an ARMY and I'm an ARMY. Your view isn't the only 'ture' one. Instead of telling him what not to do, how about informing him about WHY first.

You might be interested to check out henry together on youtube (not necessarily to react to just for your enjoyment). It showcases musical prodigies and at the end of each episode the host (who’s an idol) and the guest would freestlyle. Episode 2 guest is a14 yr old guitarist and they did a cover of dna (the host played the violin) on ep 2.2. I just discovered it myself.

I recommend you watch the Japanese version of the MV (my absolute favorite BTS MV so far) on your own time it's very storyline heavy, you could do a reaction but you'd have to heavily edit it bcs Universal Music Japan is crazy with strikes.

When he mentioned the background I remember I think it’s similar to the background in boy with love right ?

Ooo we all know about that song and I know that RM delete it but to be honest I like the cover. And he was a teenager back then, there are adults who sing about that every day. I don’t think it’s really that out there. And i think he deleted it so he won’t be interpreted like disrespecting women, but my respect for him and his lyrics won’t change because off a song, that I accidentally like 🤷♀️ my opinion don’t kill me 🤣🤣

I think i know which predebut RM song you’re talking abt at the end lol. tbh the lyrics are not rlly bad (oh btw that song was actually a cover lmao) but it’s embarassing to namjoon to the point where he deleted the song from BTS’ official blog :( also another thing is, i don’t think most ARMYs just not like ppl checking this song out but it’s more or less abt how a lot of new ARMYs just brings this song up wherever & whenever whilst ignoring other predebut RM songs. so older ARMYs are mostly just tired seeing this😭😭
