The one who hit Jimin at the beginning is Suga, he's the one that rode the bicycle. Piano is known to be Suga's "First Love" (it's the name of one of his solo songs too) but if you see someone playing on a keyboard (piano, organs, etc) then it's probably Suga

You might won't get a lot of the references since this MV is part of the BU. the song came out during the wings era and it is connected to Hermann Hesses story "Demian". So the words RM speaks in the MV are quotes from the book. It will take a long time to explain the story but in general you can say that it is about temptations and creating a pact (or contract) with the devil. In German you would say " Faustsche pakt eingehen". And yes it is a quote by Nietzsche. It says "man muss Chaos in sich haben um einen tanzenden Stern gebären zu können". The translation would be something like " One (you) must have chaos inside to be able to give birth to a dancing star". You need to have chaos to create something new/ good. 😊 P.S. Who is going to tell him, that it's not V but Jungkook who is hanging there in the air?!

I think the green substance is a nod to absinthe as well, especially when RM drinks it. It used have the name of "green fairy", and was popular among artists in 19th century for its hallucinogenic properties which gave some of the artists inspiration.

So, here's the chain... Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung was very fascinated by Nietzche's thoughts and ideas and used them in his work. Jung had a client called Herman Hesse, who included a lot of Jung's theories and Nietzche's ideas in his novel....Demian. One of Jung's psychological models was...Map Of The Soul. The model includes the concepts Persona, Shadow and Ego which together make up the human personality. All three are solo songs by the rap line on the album Map Of The Soul: 7 which is built around Jung's model and Nietzche's thoughts on religion. The genius is mindblowing! 🤯

That’s Suga playing the organ…he is a classically-trained pianist long before he was in BTS. Also, the person lying across the bed was Jk (darker hair than V, who has the platinum blond hair in this video), and he was also the one in the swing. The green substance RM was preparing and drinking was absinthe. He also was the one speaking the “He too was a tempter…” I’m interested to hear the explanation video as well, since the depth of the symbolism used is new to me as well.

In order to understand the Blood Sweat & Tears music video well, we need to think about the hint given to us in advance, . The main character, Sinclair, struggles between the comfortable and happy world of light and the new world of darkness. In the end, you fall into temptation and you can't go back to that innocent time again. That is the theme that runs through the music video. The growth of a boy who conflicts in the world of light and darkness. And each of the BTS members is in charge of good and evil (or Sinclair and Damian), and how they react when a boy encounters evil and temptation as he grows up. Resistance to temptation, resignation, and a sweet fall in temptation.

Tha k you - this was awesome, I thoroughly enjoyed it 🙏 It’s always fun to see someone lose discover the intricate complexity within some (most) BTS mv’s - I have seen it dozens of times, and scenes, phrases resonate with me and I feel I instinctively understand - but the entirety of the project is - although dancing on my fingertips, (I often feel like I am about to have an epiphany) - always just out of reach… So I understand the concepts, I understand the lyrics, I understand most of the imagery, and I can knit pieces together throughout the mv, I really don’t think I have fully internalised the whole thing… 💜💜

some of BTS's works are now on university lectures tho 🙂 btw, BST have 2 different stories in one video, the other one was Demian and the other was the BU, maybe Demian is more prominent in this one but in the Japanese ver., it was like 90% BU yeah it's crazy and so genius of how they did it... they also have short films for every member, it's BU/Demian too but mostly BU... that's where some of the clips from the explanation are came from.. those films bring more questions than answer lol...

You noticed in the end you mistook Jungkook for V and Suga a couple of times. JK is the one on the bed, and the one floating around in the air. And the one sitting with RM in the beginning. As they said in the beginning, all the younger (innocent) ones were paired with an older member. JK with RM, Suga with Jimin, J-hope with V. Suga is the one on the bike slapping Jimin and later on playing the organ. The extra video's inbetween the explaination are part of the BU tale of BTS, which starts with the MV of I Need You, and runs through several mv's, but also notes, games, webtoons. And that's a whole other rabbithole to fall into.
