I think I finally figured it out thanks to all the varied theories - Jin only getting one line, and that line in particular, is 100% a narrative choice IMO. the whole song is about submitting to someone's evil because it's too alluring. based on the demian theories - wherein the other members are extensions of him/his psyche - and with the MV tying in theology (regarding the devil, pre-falling, clashing with god about whether or not people should have freedom of choice) it's Jin submitting to the allure of making his own choices vs. being 'perfect', hence why his body cracks after he kisses the black winged angel/makes a contract to have freedom of choice. the other members seem to be his thought process to admit to himself that he wants the 'evil' of freedom and chooses it even if it might be destructive or make him less than perfect.

So, the overwhelming consensus is that all the members are fragments of Jin's personality. This comeback is based on the book Demian, which is very heavily based on the concept of duality (good vs evil, truth vs dream, etc etc), so you're seeing a mashup of those concepts. An angelic feel with an undertone of sin, a dream world with an undertone of harsh truth. Heck even V seems to be a fallen angel. You can see how all the members are connected through the different scenes (jimin gets blindfolded, jungkook's hand covers his own eyes; jhope is sitting in a vat of liquid and runs his hand in it as Jin looks at a liquid sky; the statue, who we can presume to be V based on the clipped wings, also crys green paint as jimin crys green paint; the statue's face cracks, and Jin's face cracks at the end). It's quite beautifully done, actually. Josh Binder has a really good analysis on this whole thing, ya'll should watch it

I think Taehyung was somehow representing Icarus. Because he falls off of the balcony and in the background of the scene is the Landscape with the Fall of Icarus. And the story is that Icarus flew too close to the sun and his wings melted. Thus, causing him to fall into the ocean and to his death.

Mya Jackson I already know it's based of of the book. Maybe in the situation is was representing Icarus in a way that refers back to the book. I mean, it can't be a coincidence that Taehyung falls of the edge of a balcony as the background shows the Landscape with the Fall of Icarus. And that would also make a lot of sense being as though Taehyung was always seen submerged in water. I'm not saying the whole music video is based off of Icarus. I'm just saying that could play into the story somehow.

I love how they are using different mediums like art and literature for this comeback. I hope WINGS era wraps it up, but they might leave open for interpretation. The song is so good too, using Reggaeton/Dancehall/EDM fusion without being problematic or extra. It's a really amazing comeback.

so far the reason why jin kisses the statue... Looking at the teasers.. Kinda enacts the role of Sinclair from the book "DEMAIN" and V represents Demain (Devil)... and according to the book Sinclair makes a deal with Demain the devil (which indicates boy meets evil) and they shake hands and kiss Obviously Jin and V can't actually kiss hence to avoid awkwardness so Jin kisses the statute instead which represents V I believe the rest of the members represents various phases of Demain from the book And as Jhope and sugar says "Kiss me" in their lyric part referring to the statute l. e Demain luring Sinclair (Jin) towards him (the evil) so pretty sure the rest of the members are represents the sins that Demain(V) committed which resulted in him becoming the fallen angel or devil P. The painting v fell in front of was about Icarus who in Greek mythology tried to fly to the sun and then the sun god Apollo got mad and melted his wings so he fell. I feel like that's connected to the prologue trailer when he falls into the ocean, and falls into water in run. So he must be a fallen angel then. That must mean: Jin kissed v.
