The way I gasped when I saw this notification. If you read the novel Demian, you can understand J-Hope's lyrics portray the conflict of Sinclair as he enters into adulthood and becomes tempted very well. I love the Biblical and Freudian references in this entire album, as well as the fact that despite all the high-concept artistry, it's all still very personal. I think all our choices are a trade-off between other's wishes for ourselves and our own desires and this intro portrays that perfectly. In that liminal stage of youth where desire becomes difficult to combat, it's great to read lyrics that are so raw and honest about how the 'knife was dulled by amibition' or 'greed becomes a trumpet heralding hell'. What lyricism. And to edit this, I forgot to mention this is seriously one of my favourite productions/compositions on any BTS song, I agree with you so much. The detail - all the little sound in the production are insane. The descending chord progression, with the tension-filled diminished chord, the lament bass, the way the hi hats and dubstep comes in at the end, the low strings playing the bassline in the last section, just to leave you with that guitar melody from the start... It's genius.

Ok Wings era, yeah. My favorite. They were forerunners of mixing visuals with beats with lyrics. Just phenomenal timing and exceptional artistry. And that’s without even adding the extra layer of BU and Demian. It is also interesting that you felt like you were drowning while watching the choreography bc that’s partly what jhope was conveying by holding his neck. Having no breath because he was drowning. For me tho, Jimin dancing with jhope at MAMA 2016 elevated this even more if you can believe that is even possible. One of their best award show performances IMHO.

I remember watching boy meets evil in 2019 and being COMPLETELY awe struck🥹🫠 IT was also during a time when I was still in the VERY early and young moments of my dancing, but after seeing it, I was ooo adamant on learning it lol and it had taken me maybe a full week to 2 and I WAS SOOO HAPPY WHEN I DID😁😭 ✨️that was the BEAUTIFUL start of my undying passion as well as Hobie Hope as THE role model who was in the middle of it all ;)✨️ A MASTERPIECE 🗣🤧💜💜💜
