K-pop is considered part of Hallyu. And as such some people even believe that the government is backing it which in a way they are - just not how "the darkside of K-pop" articles in the West claim. (bby gang mag made a few good video essays - including some stuff on Hallyu) But BTS got successfull without the tradiontional media/entertainment press/circle. That is scarry. It means that they are not needed. There is also something widespreed called "black marketing" - which is actually very professional done by certain companies you can hire. They go after the reputation of Idols and labels. For example last year SM paid for "black marketing" and these people posed as SM artist fans and created doubt what it would mean for SM artist if SM became a HYBE label. This may the first time that there is proof of something like this but it has been done for ages. K-pop websites actually reported on this a few weeks/months ago. Seoulite TV has made at least one vid on this in connection with the Min Hee Jin first press conference months ago - that is the lady in charge of New Jeans that is trying to steal the label - which she is now failling at. Unfortunately the case is on-going - but at least she is no longer CEO of ADOR even as she is trying to throw a public tantrum how she does not accept the demotion. Army is compiling lists of reporters that have written nonsense about Yoogi. At least one name is a known female reporter that seems to be paid by another label - she always praises those artists and makes up stuff/hates on BTS specifically. Personally? I find the first vid a little cringe: The second is way better. So could you watch it, please? You nice! Keep going!

Regarding antis who have converted - only this morning I had an interaction with someone who had been arguing against Suga on a message board all night, with dozens of people arguing with her, calling her a troll etc. My first question to her was "would you be ok with the kind of treatment Suga got if it had happened to your idol", to which she almost shouted in reply "but it already has!!". It turned out, her bias had been made to leave his group over a minor incident that got blown up. I told her I was sorry that happened to her bias, and asked her if she thought that meant this kind of treatment was acceptable and everyone had to suffer the same fate. I said I didn't want anything like this to happen to anyone, not to Suga, not to her bias, not to the scores of other celebs who have suffered this kind of treatment. And that maybe we could try change things, and give all idols out there support when they face this kind of treatment, rather than ensuring they all suffer. In her next post she apologised to me, to Suga, and to everyone she had argued with all night and deleted her inflammatory posts. Sometimes all it takes is a little understanding. 💜

South Korean Media have never liked BTS because they got big without paying them. BTS circumvented the South Korean Kpop Industry and news outlets because not only were they from a tiny company they refused to pay when they were offer the odd spot it was so the TV companies could be rude to them and basically treat them like dirt, they learnt very quickly who they could trust and who they couldn't and how to reach their auidence with KZbin and twitter something the kpop industry never considered because they owned the kpop show's, and paid had the money to pay the news outlets.

BTS went through a lot of hardships and hate trains throughout their career, this video is the tip of an iceberg the hate was intense and obviously didn't stop. As unfortunate and hard these events was I believe ARMY wouldn't be this strong and protective if we didn't go through these times, it always was the motivation to support them more and make them untouchable. And the incident this month is not different, during the boys absence Army was a bit divided and burnt out, once we learned about the news of suga we worked beautifully together to defend him and clear his name chart his songs etc. we were more united and organized than ever and i'm sure this will make our reuinoun with the boys more emotional and meaningful. But i really hope they don't face any more hardships they gone through enough alreaady no human should be subjected to this much hate for no reason

I kind of envy new armys, they get to learn all over, experience their personalities, and got to fall in love with their bond and music. I'm honestly only where I am today because of BTS, some of my most loneliest teenage years being depressed and sad were filled with their videos and fan edits and their music. I truly can't thank them enough, I don't think they know just how much they've helped so many people around the world simply by being themselves and existing. Just last year someone I know thought S Korea was part of Japan and thanks to Dynamite opening their rabbit hole wants to visit. That , GNP and military service where are all those artists that use their "friendships" to have them make appearances, etc.? If all this can can happen to Suga and for THAT what if it's you. So far I've only heard of Psy calling for support at his last appearance. If all the actors, musicians, producers stood up and said enough harrassment or the consumers commented the laws they are breaking. Demands for source evidence just something. Psy and Coldplay oh and el Capitan (ep). All I've seen so far. Heads should bow in shame.

Thanks for making this timely video. What bothers me about hate in the early years is the ages of members at debut, if I have my maths right the member were between 15 and 21 years. Youth, brilliant youth with massive potential - they should never have faced hate. Now though, they have set the example for managing situations with style and leadership. They ignore and tolerate with grace and speak out and stand up when needed. They are youth leaders who lead more effectively than most older leaders I’ve seen and I’m proud to be silver ARMY.

They expect Kpop Artists to be perfect little dolls who do as they're told be perfect in everything how they talk, walk, dress, how they look, what they can and can't do. Then you have BTS who break all those 'rules' heck one of their biggest in your face evidences of that is that both Jungkook and Jimin show their tattoos in MV's. Tattoos have to be covered with clothing or makeup on South Korean TV. Kpop Idols are not 'supposed' to have tattoes however BTS all have at least one tattoo their friendship tattoo the digit 7 and horror of horror they've all shown their number 7 tattoo on social media.

RM is a real leader in his soul. He knows he isn’t a bad person but he doesn’t want to be careless. He is very intentional with his actions and his words. You see how frustrated he gets when he clumsily breaks things. It’s because he was actually being careful. And the same with his lyrics. The words and messages are written like poetry with multiple meanings and layered depth but when he hears that the words were hurtful when that was not the intent, he must have felt like a failure. He was so young when that happened and he must have been confused because the hip hop he grew up listening to was so much more demeaning and graphic. I read the lyrics to the song in question and I didn’t find it misogynistic at all. Anyway he owns that time and what happened. In a later interview someone asked a general question about lyrics/backlash and RM brought up that he went through it in the past and how he learned from it and will not repeat it.

The media has always had it out for BTS because they became popular without the media and the usual power brokers in K-Pop. The BTS members went directly to the public with almost daily vlogs, and ARMY grew. When they were treated badly by the variety shows, they stopped going and instead created their own variety show, Run BTS. They became popular globally and were invited on international talk shows and music shows. The K music shows did not like this and even tried to ban other HYBE groups from these shows in order to force BTS to appear. Didn’t work. Even when BTS was nominated for a Grammy, the media wrote only about them not winning. It’s so disheartening. I truly believe that there are powerful “bad characters” behind all this, including the Suga smear campaign.

Pretty much every person on a stage or camera from sports commentators, news anchors, actors, dancers, musicians, etc, wear makeup. That's such a silly argument to have! I don't think I've seen a K-group NOT use the school uniform concept at some point. They're mostly teenagers when they debut. There aren't a lot of age appropriate concepts to have for that age group. Again, kinda silly! Love & support our 7 special men through the good & rough times. So proud of them & the class with which they navigate difficult times & how they learn & grow from the mistakes they have made. They are fallible humans, too, after all. It's how they handle those times that make them so special 💜 Thanks for your videos/insights🙏💜!

I‘m not an ARMY from the beginning due to the fact that German broadcast didn‘t really show them, so I get to know them beginning with Dynamite. This video I watched in my beginnings and it really took my off. So much hate and malicious gossip, but I‘m an older ARMY I didn’t wonder that much. BTS never played War of hormones in a concert after that accusation, as far as I had been told. When JK‘s Golden came out and before that the singles, I was so concerned about some hate comments on Weverse, where people tried to led all block his music while he sang only on English, while he sang the f…word in Seven, why Jack Harlow‘s rap was misogynistic and so on. Or Nam-joon being treated very bad only why he showed a picture from an Frank Ocean Song. First I tried to discuss with all of them but they are in their hate, I gave up! I suffer from depression too and I wonder now for many years what makes people turning other people so down. But I will stay at BTS side whatever will happen, I never saw any group like them…
@ablindinglightthatnolonger83792 ай бұрын
The thing about the misogyny accusations, to me, is actually something that made me appreciate them even more, especially namjoon, since he's the one that faced this issue and expressed his willingness to grow from it, and the way BigHit ent. earnestly showed support at the time. I think that, while it's important for everyone to talk about the systemic issue of the patriarchy, the talk regarding misogyny and the way this form of oppression targets women and fem presenting people should be done by women and fems themselves. Men's opinions on what is misogyny should never oppress the voices of women and fems. What's "funny" about the situation is that, the people that accused their lyrics, apparently don't even know enough about the issue to pick the right lyrics to accuse them, don't know the difference between sexist rhetoric(still bad) and misogyny and don't know how to read in the context of the tone used. They accused them mainly due to War of Hormone, but the song (as gathered by the title) is a reflection of the way young boys act around and think about girls, with boys being the butt of the joke for being hormonal, hot-headed and cringy. The cringe is due to the way boys think, not the girls actually being the way they are portrayed through their sexist rhetoric. The misogyny that should have been addressed was in other lyrics actually, but the way they went about the problem really shows their maturity and that they understood further than their critics what was wrong with them. Not to mention that it was still no way near the misogyny we listen to every day from Western music and our politicians and we experience everyday in real life.

This seems to be an older video. xCeleste had one 2013 through 2021, which seems like she added a lot to this one. So much more to add still, unfortunately. Wish I could say I was an ARMY supporting them back in the day, but I only found BTS in 2021. I did watch all this stuff and the effect it had on me was to love them even more! ARMY since 2021 and membership since a bit later that year. ARMY FOREVER, BANGTAN FOREVER!

The Media did kinda have it out for BTS...bc they got famous WITHOUT the media....the big 3 (at that time) also owned the media....nothing would be in print except bad things about BTS....but they prevailed without the "normal " media route.....and did even BETTER than if they had!! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🦌😉

Consider how young they were, facing constant attacks and hatred. It’s a bleak world when teenagers are targeted. Those who do this are cowards with a disturbed and miserable psyche.

To understand the media. You have to understand their drivers. Nothing better for that than BORACITY WHY THE INDUSTRY IS TERRIFIED OF BTS. May I point out after every criticism about makeup they started making the makeup more obvious

Korean media's and music industry did NOT benefit from their success, they gave up on them from the start, so when the guys decided to rely only on fans... their success became a threat. What if other artists take the same path??? They won't have to pay to show their clips on TV, or to have their songs played on the radio. That's a huge financial loss for those companies. For all those years, they couldn't bring them down as a group, so now they're trying to destroy members individually 😢😢😢😢

Not really for Kpop per se. You won't see this amt of negativity in the way media report issues involving idols/artists from certain big companies. Ppl say, other big companies have established a kind of relationship with media/reporters, whereas, Big Hit Ent. (now known as HYBE) does not because it started poor/powerless and then grew bigger and bigger without the support of those local media (actually it's not that BH did not want local media to promote BTS. Of course they do, but BTS rarely had the chance. When they got the chance, they were mistreated).

I am so glad that they had nothing to do with the media. That's what caused them to start coming online themselves and talking to us. Nothing beats that. Especially corrupt news reporters

Hi, I'm shyly asking about more Enhypen videos, super curious about their personalities (but, in my opinion, their English interviews are not the best source to observe because they're not fully themselves while recording that), greetings

There is the Hallyu Wave, and then there is the BTS Tzunami. BTS are at a level of their own and will shine even brighter after their reunion in 2025. They are a phenomenon unlike anything in history. I pray and wish them nothing but the best. APOBANGPO! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

They are 5th gen also from HYBE and goofy af😊 Honestly, they are the first group that I can see them growthing big like BTS in the future cuz they are really dedicated to what they are doing and so down to earth. And they also producing their own musics. I am sure that you will enjoy their videos cuz they are so funny and goofy around. I cant wait to see your reaction to them

BTS dared to challenge the “big three” companies, controlling the music industry and the media. BTS broke through and did it without corruption, without paying for their successes, and without the media support! They did it by directly connecting with their fans. When they couldn’t get on shows, or were not treated fairly, or with respect, BSH created shows for bts. BTS did not NEED the corrupt support to succeed. They got to where they are honestly, with talent and integrity, humility, and the devotion to and from their fans. The industry was SHOCKED! And now Hybe is THE largest, most profitable company in the music industry (and by a very large margin). That makes Hybe and BTS the targets. I asked a question to DKDKTV, a Korean channel a few years ago, and they explained how Korean society hates underdogs. They never root for them, and if the under dog succeeds, they still hate them, and will never accept them or support them. BTS will always have to fight against the system in their own country. That is just pathetic lay sad, for everything they do for the country they love so much.

Hello, I am a new follower of your videos and I would really like you to see the video for "NOTHING MUCH PREPARED" by LEE YOUNGJI with D.O. It is a video with many views but few reactions and it was recorded after their collaboration on the song SMALL GIRL. Personally, I feel that the looks seen from both of them (more than d.o) are very strange? Or out of the ordinary. You should look into it as I feel like there is something more there.

Max!! Hope you’re doing well. Been subscribed to you for BTS content and this is a change up but could you PRETTY PLEASE do a reaction to the new viral Chicken Shop Date episode with Andrew Garfield?! Their chemistry is insane and literally palpable and I genuinely think it’s clear that he is actually interested in her (and vice versa, of course) but I want to get your opinion! Not a lot of communication/body language experts have made videos on it yet and I’m dying to hear some opinions from you all! Thank you! 💜
