I did, it’s great your revisiting now that you have a better understanding. What’s interesting was seeing the body language and posture of the daegu boys - Yaehyung & Yoongi. They look like bookends having the same expressions and postures compared with the others. It just made me laugh.

The bookend of the daegu boys (tae & Yoongi) crack me up. They are matching body language and posture is so interesting, especially as they tend to be very direct and have a dry sense of humour and would shut you down if they don’t like what someone is saying.

There was good reason why we stayed with you💜. It was a respectful, genuine reaction from your professional experienced perspective. I remember my own good impression of your efforts. Lol, I'm still watching and enjoying💜🫰 •edit: 8:40 I think you've just gotten more relaxed with ARMY, trusting the responses you'll get, as well as seeing yourself as part of ARMY so you speak more confidently to friends/allies instead of "braving a minefield with professional ethics", of you know what I mean 😉, lol💜 You mention wanting to get back to more frequently speaking your thoughts rather than censoring yourself, and I just want to support and encourage that. I think you present your thoughts with respect and Army not only respects that, but you've now developed the relationship with your viewers so that your thoughts/intentions will be received (by most, lol) with respect.

I've always said, if a person is not respectful, caring, loving and patient, then its not an ARMY, because those are the values BTS shows to their fans and thats the way we behave, people can be anyway they want to and be a fan of BTS but they are not ARMY. I'm saying it because some comments are so innecesary rude and I 've never seen any of the members being like that, they are smart and so assertive that we ARMY love them and admire them and want to be like them in those aspects.

I was ripped to shreds by my social media tribe. They were contemporaries I had deliberately chosen because they were like-minded. I had followed those people, and they had followed me back, because we are fascinated and empowered by the social activism of BTSxARMY as a global phenomenon. Everyone is fiercely protective of BTS from racists and xenophobes, and that passion can be dangerous. I wrote one very easy to misinterpret post. The "mature" and academically inclined big accounts wrote literal educational essays on why I was horrible - not just as ARMY, but as a human - and the greater conversation took shots at my intelligence, morality, education, mental illness, and ADHD. Their righteousness named me the enemy despite all previous counter evidence. No one thought twice about throwing me to the rabid wolves who followed the cancel party train to send me death "suggestions" and dox threats. When I tried to explain, I was called a liar and attention seeker and blocked. Two people out of hundreds bothered to ask me what I meant in the post, and they were harassed, as well. (When I'm with unknown ARMY, I can't help but imagine that there could be someone in the crowd who hates me. I've been traumatized since that shunning, and am finally going to try EMDR therapy.) The people who chased me off that platform never question their ARMY identities. If anything, they feel elite because they are defenders who know the "truth". They gatekeep and judge bad behavior, but are capable of horrible nastiness and rage. They may be dissecting lyrics, but they are certainly not following what they mean. "Ugh" has left the building. I don't think we can blame this all on social media. I think this is just humanity. (Or maybe a humanity that is looking at BTSxARMY as any other religion that subjugates its followers using fear and a strata of social tiers. That's a whole other ramble.) I'm not sure anymore if there are good or bad ARMY - or just humans who try to be kind vs those who let their inner bastards come out to play whenever they can get away with it. If we say fans are only ARMYs if they consciously work to be as good as the guys, I think there are very few of us, honestly. I'm definitely not free of rage or pettiness, but I love the guys - and the concept of the ARMY they've built - with everything I am.

I think the first thing that struck me about your initial reactions of BTS was how in the money you were most of the time. Also….you hit the heart of why watching reactors is so much fun. It’s totally validating especially when most people I know look at me funny when I bring up any kind of Asian content.

Wait, whaattt?!?! Almost 3 years that I kept coming back and didn't subscribe?!?! I was always impressed with Max analysis, they were actually quite good for somebody getting to know people for the first time. I also always related so much to him because I was drawn to BTS the same way. The first thing I did to get to know them was not googling or searching for their music, it was searching and watching their dynamic on interviews. That's the first thing I do when I search for any celebrity. And their bond got me hooked more and more. So each comment Max made in his BTS journey felt just so right to me that I wished I could translate his videos to share with my friends. Today's reacting was also very accurate about how I personally felt watching him all this time hahah. Well, I finally subscribed today. Better late than ever.

Way to go Max! I usually forget first reactions and love that you checked it out again! I remember now that I felt you were very genuine, I laughed at some of your comments and since I love Yoongi’s personality too, I probably was one of the people trying to explain 😂. You were very observant and the fact that you were unbiased made me want to see more from you with BTS. Sadly, I noticed you didn’t mention Jin. Lately I have been noticing not many reactors give Jin enough credit or time for all the hard work he did and does since he learned everything from scratch. I bet I wrote that then too! We stick with you because you are open minded and true ARMY knows not to be mean. As BTS is an example to show respect, help when we can, and you look great, 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🇨🇦

I watch them like you from the beginning. They have made my days, knowing that they did what few can do. They made history. Handwork, dedication, commitment, and a dream, they made it happen. Their contributions and charitable works ,for so many, along with ARMY, I was so grateful for their generosity can’t be forgotten. Thank you ,your kindness is so refreshing.❤️🍀

It's so interesting to see a reaction to your own reaction. I like your reaction coz you always give very solid, analytical and descriptive comment about what your observed, which is different from most of the reaction video that the youtubers usually only show their emotions rather than talk much about what they're thinking. Your presentation is direct, simple, concise and clear. I'm not a native English speaker. English is kind of my third language but I can still understand your talk without subtitles and can learn from you. Thank you👍

I watched your first reaction, and I loved your take on them. It was a great reaction and it was fun to see your assessment of them. This was fun to see you look back on it, it was really enjoyable. I enjoy seeing others find BTS, and I like when you can actually see their misconceptions fade away that BTS are just a generic K-pop boy band, but are young men with substance. Because who doesn’t want others to love who you love right? And there is a lot to admire about the members. Thanks for your honest reactions, they are appreciated. And yes I thought you did a really good job with your first reaction too!

Hi! I've watched you since your first BTS reaction and really appreciated your pointing out ways to help people communicate in their own lives. Also...in case you read this...when I first discovered them (didn't know their names) somehow I watched several interviews where Jin was quiet and I immediately dubbed him "the quiet one with no personality" OMG!! I was totally wrong...just shows you really can't judge a person from such minimal information. Also, I referred to Suga as, "the one who watches"...it took quite a while for me to discover who he was...I totally fell in love with the video where they are cheering on the students taking the yearly test...Suga was so honest and inadvertantly funny telling everyone that it doesn't matter if you do well you it's not the end for you.

This is so meta! 😂😂😂 I love it! You watching you! 😂 So nice of you to appreciate your previous self! I would say, you have become more comfortable on camera, and that seems to happen naturally the longer anyone spends on KZbin. It's nice to see. I have had a KZbin channel for a year now, and I am slowly becoming more comfortable on camera. There's a natural reserve at first, but eventually I think we begin to feel like our time onscreen is just like we're hanging out with friends. I'm not there yet, but I'm making progress. You have definitely made that progress! 💜

I remember watching this video and how fun it was to see your first impression of each of the boys, knowing how much more there was to discover. After all we all had our first impressions too, which changed as we came to know them, BTS as a group and their music. Your respect for and knowledge of Korean culture was appreciated too. And please don’t censor yourself - your natural instincts are always respectful and Army will appreciate analysis that shows you understand their individuality and group dynamic. In my opinion it will make your commentary more meaningful. You’ve become so credible and respected that Army will trust your well meaning intentions. Hope you’re still enjoying the ride! Best of luck! Greetings from NL 🇨🇦

It’s sad that people have to watch what they say because of the “wrath” of ARMY.. I partially get it though, from both sides, but still it makes me sad that some ARMYs can come across as somewhat aggressive. Yes, we are protective of our guys but some people who call themselves ARMY, but are definately not, can be malicious and give ARMY a bad name. We love our guys. We may have a bias or two but true ARMYs love and support all 7 members.. Hating on a member or being malicious towards any member as well as reactors is not what BTS is about. This is why a lot of reactors stop reacting to BTS because of the fighting and hate in the comments and it’s so immature and unbelievable that people act like this. BTS promotes self love, acceptance and respect towards everyone and people who don’t follow this are not ARMY… I always love your reactions, thank you 🫰🏼💜💜💜

I think something about Jimin that can often get overlooked is his posture. People think it makes him look rigid or uncomfortable. I personally think it has a lot more to do with his dance training. His proper posture is demonstrated ALL the time. It's been so ingrained into his muscle memory that, he is actually comfortable. If anything, when I see him sitting slumped or off center, I wonder if he is in pain since I know he has some chronic pain issues. As someone with chronic pain myself, I'm sitting "normal" when I am comfortable. The more pain I am, the more my body starts to shift and tilt and so on.

Particularly the three from AMAs backstage 2017, Billboard Music Awards 2018, and Billboard backstage 2019. They're all short and altogether about 18 minutes, but I find a lot of body language in it and communications that make those 3 very genuine and enjoyable and I was hoping you could help explain why/how that comes across differently. I always like your videos and your analysis so thank you!

yeah when they did their first interview with him and he asked that first really interesting question you could actually see them perk up.. especially Yoongi.

Hi, Max! Could you react to DPR Ian interview with Zach Sang too sometime? DPR Ian a.k.a. Christian Yu is a really interesting person and artist to get to know, and I find that interview so open and sincere, I think you might enjoy it too. Love your videos!! Thank you for sharing and always being such a kind human being. We appreciate you.

Hi Max from Tahiti. I would like to know at what moment you fell for BTS? Sorry if you already answered this question. Love your channel.

yep i watched the first one back then and yep i wanted to write all the things but ARMYs had already ledt all the essays. i remember laughing at the 'hobi is the youngest' guess and probably verbatim said to the screen 'you have no idea' on how close they are. you were much nicer to young max than anticipated, in the sense that being kind to our younger selves can be challenging. do you have any specific tips for communicating better with yourself like this?

OK. Since we are being honest here, I am SO JEALOUS! I was raised in San Diego, California on Mexican food 😋! Now I have lived in Europe for 35 years, the last 26 in Sweden with my Swedish husband. Fortunately, Swedish people LOVE tacos (go figure?!) - which I am planning for dinner tonight. BUT! Ingredients which I crave for a more authentic Mexican variety than tacos are difficult to find. And there you sit in Mexico… Truly, I pray you enjoy the excellent Mexican cuisine! But I remain jealous.

I think that you can see now how unconfortable they were with the tons of interviews asking about butter. They appreciate Zach, that's why they could go a little bit more there. About you, I think that now you look much more natural, not as posing in front of a camera. In your friend's reaction, the way you used the "eye contact" with the camera, with the audience, made me feel really engaged, as if I were there too. Maybe you are using a more familiar tone with the audience too, something that reminds me of what you said about the need of being oneself, to deepen one's voice, if you want to get more engagement. I watched the first reaction and wanted to comment not to tell you their names, but because you seemed pretty honest and open with your analyzes, but there was so much, and I wanted you to be able to say more. But also because those were difficult times, for the world, and for BTS and ARMY, and we were like looking for signals. Are they tired, are they sad, are they thinking of touring, another disc, a new contract...? I think that the timing helped you and your ARMY audience to meet. I enjoy a lot your videos, thank you.
