If you don't know this song is actually in Japanese and Jungkook co-wrote the song. BTS are the only music artist to have 3 songs in different languages (Korean, English, and Japanese) to chart on the billboard hot 100 and they did it with all 3 songs at the same time.

One thing that amazes me every time I sing a Japanese song at LIVE is Jin's pronunciation when he sings Japanese. Although Jin does not speak Japanese fluently, his utterances are flawless. Jin sings parts that do not exist in Korean with seeming ease. And his pronunciation of j-hop raps is perfect and he is fluent in speaking Japanese.

I appreciate that you do check out the lyrics even if it's not your focus - just because when people comment on the song without paying attention to what it's about they sometimes get way off base. But I appreciate your perspective and expertise and don't want you to feel pressured to enjoy things in any particular way. 💜

The rappers can sing! They have different degrees of training and comfort, but they all have great voices. J-Hope moves back and forth between rap and singing easily, and tends toward melodic rap. Suga and RM both sing as well, just less often - and Suga does some pretty melodic or carefully pitched rap as well. There's a great 7-voice cover of Fix You with the rappers taking most of the lower parts of the harmonies. It's far less about inherent ability and more about where they've focused their training and interest. And yes, there's a ton of rehearsal. The one thing you won't generally find is a raw performance. You can see some pretty goofy ones (muster stages!) sometimes, where they're less focused on perfection and more playful, but they're generally, as you noticed, very very polished. About the microphones - I don't know the tech side, but I've been assuming all along that the personalized mics have something to do with having presets for each voice. I have no idea if that's actually a thing though - if it would matter which microphone they were holding. Is it just style? They've been doing it since forever. I figured it would make it easier not to accidentally grab each other's and end up with the wrong processing... Same for their in-ears, which match as well. But I might have made that up in my head 😂

I sooo love Film Out live performances. The haramonization is amazingly incredible. I've never like rap before but with BTS and in this song, the incorporation of raps and harmonizations of vocal line has made this song unique. Very brilliant. This was an OST for the Japanese movie Signal.

I agree with you, it is so perfect, and I also did not want it to end, this and Your Eyes Tell are the best BTS OSTs so far for the heart-wrenching genre, they really grab at your emotions.

i love bts's voices, including the rappers singing voices! They really are all so talented. Jimin's voice is so unique and I am drawn to it like sailor to a siren. I think there's another element to BTS's voices, but Jimin's voice especially when heard live in concert, so if anyone is able to see them perform take the opportunity.

Film Out was announced by BTS on 16.2.2021, as the ending theme for Signal the movie Cold Case Investigation Unit (Japan, 2021). The song was written by Jungkook (BTS) in collab with the lead vocalist of Japanese rock trio Back Number, Iyori Shimizu and the track's producer UTA.💜
