Yes, you are correct! They guy with the green hair is Rap Monster, the leader of BTS, also the guy with purple hair in Not Today. He has an IQ of 148 and is very intelligent. He has written ALOT of their songs and contributes majorly to their concepts. He did read Demian as well as the other books involved in the stories and involved them in their music. He once said (in an interview) that he taught himself philosophy because he wanted to involve deeper meanings to their music videos. I really love your reactions and your analysis at the end. i think the guy in the black jacket represents "the man" "the system" "the oppressor" they also run away from those people in the "not today" music video and my favorite part in this song is when they say "don't try so hard, it's ok to lose" that's really encouraging to hear because there's always so much pressure to be perfect and succeed and it's nice to hear your going to lose sometimes but that's ok and the systems that tell you to be a certain way and not yourself just burn it all up with BTS lol

Actually, I interpret the guys in black totally different. They might represent both your idea and mine (at the same time), actually, but I see the guys in black as Army! Suga/Yoongi sets us on fire - sets youth on fire, with passion, and then we spread that passion to others, building up an Army. In Not Today, the guys in black sacrifice themselves to try to save BTS from the bullets, that's why they have a wall that Hobi breaks through and why they are falling over with the bullets (watch the full Not Today dance practice to see all the backup dancers better. They're whole routine is fascinating - they split up and become a cannon firing at the boys at one point). But in the Not Today choreo, after all the guys in black take a bullet and fall to the ground, BTS storms to the front of the line, picking up the guys in black by the back of their shirts, as if lifting them up/telling them "I've got you now." Then BTS the Not Today 3:33 dance (with the stomping) and it's like they're the generals leading the organized Army ranks. Then, the very last shot is BTS being the bulletproof wall protecting their Army (us!). I get goosebumps whenever I watch Not Today mv or dance practice because I think it tells a beautiful love story between BTS and ARMY!!!

So as you've noticed, at the end of Fire, there was 'Boy meets what'. So after you complete the short films can you react to Save Me and then Boy Meets Evil. Save me and Fire are from the same album. You're commentary about BTS connecting to the underdog demographic was spot on, they have the ultimate underdog story. Bighit Ent was bankrupt when the formed BTS, the boys lived in 1 small dorm room and barely had enough food to eat every day. But they worked so hard and have come so far because all they want to do is tell their stories and the story of the youth and that's why they're so genuine and loved.

I think you guys would really like the BTS's MV for Spring Day. It's story isn't really connected to Wings or The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, exactly, at least not in a meaningful way, but I think you guys could have some fun talking about it! It was also released around the same time as Not Today. (And remember the subtitles!) As for a group that isn't BTS, I'd recommend Monsta X! Specifically four videos: All In, Fighter, Beautiful, and Shine Forever. The first three you should definitely watch in that order, but Shine Forever is sort of standalone.

Eventually you have to watch to the Fire live presentation at the MAMA awards show. A little tidbit to that performance is that there was an online plan for some fans to give BTS a black ocean during their show (black ocean is turning off their lightsticks and not cheering). In Korea, fandoms are pretty organized, loyal and competitive because of voting for awards. There was a black ocean for another group I believe last year (I believe) and it was so upsetting to see and really affected the performers 😢 but you should see how BTS handled it. I honestly had wanted to see BTS perform this at the Billboards and slay everyone. You'll see what I mean.

Your comment about protecting the misfits and oppressed in society is super spot on because BTS' name in korean, bulletproof boyscouts, means protecting youth and giving a voice to the people around the world who can't always speak for themselves. Almost all their videos and albums since the beginning have had these themes in slightly different ways ! Every theory can be linked back to it because it's the heart of what they do.

Great reaction once again! Paige is right about the connection between the WINGS short video and Fire - the start of FIRE is a homage to Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here, which as you noticed was also in the window of Suga's short video, First Love. Roman is also right to point out that a lot of BTS' songs have a social commentary, particularly supportive of the "underdog" (often about youth, the problems they face and the struggle to overcome these problems and find your own way in the world). I know a lot of fellow ARMY have already given you a long list of MVs and songs to watch/listen too (all of which I hope you do) but along the lines of the struggle of the underdogs, I would love to see you do a reaction to BTS's song Baepsae/Crowtit (also known as Silverspoon). They don't have a MV for the song, but they do have a dance practice (in which you also get to see their mucking around). Just on this song, it uses a Korean idiom which utilises bird metaphors (crowtits and storks) to represent social class and generational divide. The song talks about social class, the Korean education system, youth unemployment, and the struggle of Korean Youth to rise above and overcome all this in what is colloquial known in South Korean youth vernacular as "Hell Joseon" (they also make an oblique reference to Hell Joseon in their song DOPE). Baepsae is definitely one of my favourite BTS songs, precisely because it has such great social commentary. In addition, the choreography for the song is also pretty awesome!

The one you are asking of who says "Hey, burn it up...hey turn it up" he is the leader of the group(even tho he is not the oldest one...the reason why he is the leader is whole other essay to write). He speaks most fluent English from all the boys in the group (which he taught himself while watching episodes of "Friends" the TV show on a loop) and his stage name is Rap Monster (real name Kim Namjoon) . BTS videos are all tided up together from the very first one (the debut song "No more dream") to the very recent one for their remake (cover)of very iconic and legendary Korean artist song "Come Back Home" (original artist Seo Taeji & the boys - first Korean boy band from the 90's). They all tell the story of youth growing up into adulthood . They all show struggles that come with this journey.They are all emotional and perfectly produced and got multilayered deep symbolism in them. You totally got that analyzation about BTS being a support system of sorts for the oppressed and such. BTS's identity, and you could say "mission statement," is being a group of young people who stand up for fellow youth who are oppressed and put down by society, especially by adults. MANY of their songs (the majority of their music, to be honest) speak about societal issues, most regarding youth. In "N.O." they speak of the corrupted school system in Korea; in "No More Dream" they talk about forced dreams from parents and say to follow your own dreams; in "Dope" they talk about waking up the sleeping youth and breaking stereotypes placed on young kids who are deemed lazy when it comes to working hard to reach the top; in "Not Today" they encourage and empower the minorities and those who are beaten down to not give up (one line that was carefully written was the use of "glass ceiling", referencing sexism in the workplace that stops women from gaining higher positions). Fire is just another example of a song where they're calling everyone and saying "come with us, we're here for you." It's also a song that says it's okay to lose, even if you try, and you should live life while you're young. Those who don't analyze the lyrics might mistake it as simply a party song, but it's much more than that.

I am here almost a full year late (I just found out your channel today) and GOD u guys are great at analyzing these music videos. I love the way you get the feeling that "oh yeah, everything is connect I need to get to the next chapter". BTS is really huge and has a biiiig fandom 'cause they build a whole new concept to music videos, like you said, it's not just for the song, is a whole universe and history, they go beyond what normal artists do. Thank you for your reactions videos, they're great!! I don't know if at some point you got to know more about them, but they MV are really rich in content because they worked hard to make it. There was a time where no one believed in them and they did the MV like, with what they had in hands and it was not a lot... there was a really small staff crew that helped to make it.

Green hair - Kim Namjoon (Rap Monster - leader, rapper). Namjoon (first name) has a high IQ of 148. His mom got him the Friends DVD set - all seasons and he taught himself English. But besides his intelligence, he's the backbone of BTS and an absolute sweetheart. He's the middleman, I would say, between the company and the artists. He also read Demian - whether it's on his own or suggested by the company, I honestly don't know but even other BTS MVs have book/movie references.

After you are done with the Wings short films you should try watching some of their dance practices (and also react to the actual songs that go with each short film). Lol not that you don't already have like a million BTS things to watch. You also need to get the rest of the story by watching the MVs: I Need U (Original Version not the regular one VERY IMPORTANT), Prologue (which isn't really an MV but it is important), Run, and Young Forever (in that order). Although now that you have watched Fire you should probably watch the MV Save Me, and then the MV for the Wings album Intro...which I don't really want to tell you the title of yet because spoilers (it tells you what boy meets). Again sorry this is a lot, but there is a lot to catch up on. That isn't even including the Japanese versions of I Need U and Run that also tie into the story like the Japanese version of Blood, Sweat, & Tears did. Again this is a lot, but it is definitely worth the time sink. Thank you for your reactions. They are really awesome! I have been wary of looking at new Kpop reactors because some of them seem to not really care about any of it and just do it for the views, but you guys (although I'm sure you do it for the views to because you have to eat somehow) seem to really enjoy yourselves while really digging into the MVs.
