I'm dancing ballet and contemporary since more than 10 years now and I don't wanna brag or something like that but I think I'm good at it but.. this is one thing.. but it's literally impossible to be good at ballet AND hiphop and it's sooo incredibly hard to do and very very rare! Dancing changes your whole body deportment, not just while dancing but in your normal life too and when you do hiphop for a long time it's nearly impossible to switch to these elegant ballet moves and the other way round. There's nothing more contrary than ballet and hiphop. And the mean thing is.. the better you become the harder it gets to do both! But jimin is good at both and I envy him so much for this, every dancer dreams of being able to do that and really really not many dancers can! This is a really rare and special skill and I hope he knows that

I'm a classical dancer too...and have learnt for nearly 6 years now...but when I did western...it looked like this hybrid of classical and western that's not very flattering. Only when I took a break from dancing classical and tried western many months later did it look worthwhile. The fact that he nails both of them simultaneously is amazing...

You make such a good point because so many dancers are classically trained in ballet but the minute you switch to a different genre, you're basically told to forget everything about ballet because the technique is not used in other genres. Many dancers fail at this but Jimin doesn't. He's THE BEST all around dancer in BTS.

Yeah, it's sad. Lee Hyun, one of their seniors at Big Hit, shared that Jimin always blamed himsef whenever their performance fails. He even said Jimin always say "hyung, why am I so untalented". He always thinks he needs to work hard and harder in order to maintain his position, he always thinks he's not natural. @@sonialee5001 I was immediately captivated by Jimin the first time I watched BTS dance. There was something about the smoothness in his movements that stood out for me. I learned later on that he was a trained contemporary dancer at which moment I realized why I felt a connection with him. I am a dancer myself, although in ballroom. Training does help one develop grace, elegance, proper posture and techniques. Having a great dance instructor/teacher is one of the secrets.

Hear me out before givin me hate: The dance line needs a better choreographer. Jimin is an excellent (/excellent/) dancer, but we're only seeing a snippet of what he can do. He has a history of modern dance that needs to be played with and catered to. That tiny piece in Spring Day is great, but he needs more of it to show off his poise and strength. Jungkook is physically very strong. He needs choreography that plays well with that. Him lifting JM is okay; same with him giving Suga a shoulder ride. But he needs more to work with. And J-Hope has a vast dance background. He executes his routines beautifully. To put it in a nutshell, the student can't learn beyond the teacher. I really want to see more of Jimin's grace, Jungkook's power, and J-Hope's explosive energy. And this is not a bash on the choreographer or the choreography, because it *is* excellent. I just want my boys catered to.

Tinrit 19 I’m not saying jhope’s dancing isn’t good in fact it’s AMAZING I’m just saying I prefer Jimin’s dancing style (Hobie’s dancing is more hip hop and hard with more energy while Jimin’s more contemporary and ballet so much smoother)
