Jimin's real tattoos 'Nevermind' on his side/chest 'youth' behind his ear '13' on his wrist "Young" & "Forever" on the back of his arms '7' in between his fingers and he has moons down his back, but so far this video is the most army has seen of them. The other writing on his chest/neck for this video was drawn on, and it's a German poem.

The "Never.." that you saw was part of an older tattoo "Nevermind". It's his nod of appreciation to SUGA's lyrics to the 2015 song "Intro: Never Mind". You'll get to it later in your BTS journey. As time goes by you'll recognize aspects of this current video that will remind you of older ones you haven't seen yet. Everything is connected with our boys 💜

Jimin is simply a genius. When he says "I won't stop even if they mock me", you can see the dancers pointing at him, judging him, referring to how people perceive him and the narratives they constantly impose or project on him and him basically saying no matter what you say, I'll keep shining. "Fly away, butterfly Finally free" He is ready to fly. The butterfly lyric mirrored in this effortlessly smooth and sexy move and the fact that he is flanked by two female dancers here just accentuates his appeal. He is lifted up by the throng and here people have noted the parallels to Lie and it is calming to think that Set Me Free Pt 2 resolves and brings closure to the emotions that inspired that song. In an interview Jimin explained: "I tried to express the grand scale of the song and [the ideas of] determination, passion, and overcoming. “Set me free” means setting myself free, so I thought it was important that I be the one to set myself free - not someone else. In the end, I’m the one who has to set myself free. I would say the song has the energy of a light in the darkness. I wanted to express that kind of picture everyone has in their head - a ray of light coming into the darkness is the only thing you can see. If I had to say specific colors, I’d say black and white." Jimin is a true artist in every sense of the word. The birth of the King!

You did a great job breaking it down. Especially not having seen a lot of BTS’ work that it may be related to. There is a lot of reference to the shadow that is portrayed in their previous works like Yoongi’s Interlude Shadow, Black Swan, ON and others. Lie and Filter, Jimin’s songs, are also referenced. Jimin has received a lot of hate over the years, death threats, and his own thoughts of not being good enough. I am so happy to see him pushing it all behind him and rising above it to show us the real Jimin. He is spectacular! 💜

this song is black swan and ON's love child!! i don't think anyone expected this kind of song from Jimin, but at the same time i am not surprised at all he released something like this! your favorite line, ''going insane to stay sane'', is a direct reference to ON, which i really hope you will get to watch soon !! TT the NEVERMIND tattoo is real, and it is quite old, he has had it since debut. Jimin and Jungkook are the only ones with more than just the 7 tattoo all of them have. I know, right? At first glance this song seems so different than anything we would have expected. But, at the same time, it is purely, essentially, and beautifully Jimin. And felt so natural, you wonder how anyone could have expected anything different. Yes, it's nothing like Promise, or Serendipity, but seems like a natural extension of Lie, and Filter. With a beautiful touch of Yoongi (you all know what I mean). Either way, it's beautiful, emotional, intense, and amazing. And I absolutely love it.💜😍

His side tattoo is real and he's had it for a long time it says NEVERMIND. That opening with the dancers and all the hand gestures, to me, is very reminiscent of the painting Dante's Inferno. I don't know if that's where you were going but I get what you're saying. The spiral the dancers create represents The golden spiral which is a pattern created based on the concept of the golden ratio-a universal law that represents the “ideal” in all forms of life and matter. In fact, it’s often cited as an example of the connection between the laws of mathematics and the structure of living things. SET ME FREE IS ANOTHER PART OF THE SHADOW CHAPTER IN MAP OF THE SOUL 7. IT CONTAINS songs like interlude: shadow by suga,on and ofcourse it somehow related to set me free pt.1. In Interlude shadow the shadow controls the person (suga) but in set me free pt 2 the person (jimin) controls the shadow. Fact: jimin has a series of moon tatto on his back that was shown in this mv at last

this song is crazy i absolutely love it, i don't think anyone ever expected this from jimin but somehow it still has the bts essence in it and elements from some of their other songs, i'm sure you'll notice them then when you reach them 😊😉 fyi the “never” you saw is jimin's real tattoo “nevermind” which is the name of a yoongi song called intro: nevermind from their album hyyh2 he had it since 2016 i believe, he also has several other tattoos “youth” behind his ear, “young” and “forever” on both of his elbows which is also the name of a song “epilogue: young forever” from their album hyyh young forever, 13 on his wrist which is his birth day (oct 13) and bts debut (13 June 2013) he said it's his favorite number, the 7 friendship tattoo on his finger and the one peeking at the end of this mv which is the moon phases on his back

I wish I could give you 10 thumbs up!! I loved your reaction and I agree about the religious undertones to the performance. If you read the German poem tattooed on his chest, it will really make you think of the twice about that. I am unaware of his faith, but I have read that Jimin went to a Christian Catholic school so he would at least have a background of the religious themes. We just don't know what was in his heart to have written the words and expressions in this song. I only hope that releasing it has made him a happier person. Keep reacting to them all. Love your reactions! I also love Jimin and his new song and video! One of the things I really like about the choreo is how the dancers at the beginning are trying to grab him and control him and judge him but later in the video they are all dancing and swaying to HIS lead as he is finally in control of his life, and by the end of the video he is reborn stronger and they are all on the ground. I have so much to say about this song but I can't find proper words to describe it neither my feelings. All I can say is Jimin went above and beyond with this and blew away any expectation ANYONE had. Your reaction is probably the calmest one I've seen so far and I blame it on the fact that you haven't listened to his other solo works (which now you need to get to ASAP, it's not a lot) and a lot of ballads. This is NOT the Jimin we all knew, however we knew he had a darker side to him and was about time we saw his "rebellious" side.

Great job. I love your analysis of the mvs I think Jimin is trying to break out of the rules that have been set up to him and the others. Like swearwords, tats, and nakedness is a nono to the Conservative korean But Jimin had the Nevermind tattoo for a while. It's a great song, but I need to get used to the synthesis. BTW, Nick, you should watch Boys Planet. It's a talent show for guys in korea to create the next boy band. And it's very interesting to watch and get an insight into how tough some of the songs and choreography are, and especially BTS songs, the contestens don't like to pick them cause of high notes and heavy dance.
