ah, dang, i was just about to mention it, since i could read the writing on his torso but you already did a great job researching it but the translation is quite clunky and in places not accurate at all. in german the second line is "die sich über die Dinge ziehen", which literally translates into " that/which extend over the things". the tower isn't primordial, it's ancient. the nuance concerning the song is missing entirely. it's not just a song of some sort. since Rilke was very religious, he's referring to a hymn or a chant. I live my life in expanding circles, that extend over the things. I might not accomplish the last but try i will. I circle around god, around the ancient tower, and i'm circling for millennia; and i do not know yet : am i a falcon, a storm or a great chant*

on jimin's tattoos: jimin's nevermind tattoo on his rib and the moon tattoo on his back are both his real tattoos, he also has 13 on his inner wrist and 'young' & 'forever' above his elbows, also 7 tattooed on his finger (bts' friendship tattoo, all the members have 7 tattooed). it's cool that he kinda used his moon tattoo as an artistic last shot in the video!

Jimin said this song was the closer for the story of "face". In the other songs, he talks frequently about drinking as a way to drown out pain. It's also mentioned in the beginning of this song. "I wandered through a maze, Hennessey at night". Then he speaks a couple lines that are in literal quotations, such as "I never stop, fuck all your opps" and then says that it happens again and again. I think the quotations mean that these are things that he has said in the past, and it was all linked to his drinking. Then he says he's finally free. I saw that line as the fact that he is free from the mindset that was explain in the beginning of the song. I really think this is a sobriety song, although nobody else has seemed to make that connection. Also I love how he says "raise your hands to the past me". He has respect for the person he was and the choices that he made, even though he might have made poor choices due to pain, he has compassion for the man who had to go through those troubles.

Hello dear human! I did not see it until you mentioned it. Why the scene at the end, when Jimin is being lifted seemed so familiar. It is indeed very reminiscent of John Constantine "visit" to hell to find whether the twin sister was really there. That scene is truly epic, all those demons trying to pull him back. To this day, my most favorite movie, that I keep re-watching every few years and still discover new things. In Jimin's case, now it seems that instead of pulling him down, his demons are lifting him up. What is that saying: if you cannot fight your demons, befriend them? Jimin is simply a genius. When he says "I won't stop even if they mock me", you can see the dancers pointing at him, judging him, referring to how people perceive him and the narratives they constantly impose or project on him and him basically saying no matter what you say, I'll keep shining. "Fly away, butterfly Finally free" He is ready to fly. The butterfly lyric mirrored in this effortlessly smooth and sexy move and the fact that he is flanked by two female dancers here just accentuates his appeal. He is lifted up by the throng and here people have noted the parallels to Lie and it is calming to think that Set Me Free Pt 2 resolves and brings closure to the emotions that inspired that song. In an interview Jimin explained: "I tried to express the grand scale of the song and [the ideas of] determination, passion, and overcoming. “Set me free” means setting myself free, so I thought it was important that I be the one to set myself free - not someone else. In the end, I’m the one who has to set myself free. I would say the song has the energy of a light in the darkness. I wanted to express that kind of picture everyone has in their head - a ray of light coming into the darkness is the only thing you can see. If I had to say specific colors, I’d say black and white." On Jimins ribs there is a Nevermind tattoo, his first if I'm not mistaken, it's a reference to BTS song Nevermind; moon phases tattoos in the end are his latest addition, fun story - he made one crescent moon at first, but Taehyung showed him an army fanart of him with moon phases along the spine and he liked it so that another appointment was made 😁
