The man who gave Jin the flowers at the army base is the new CEO of Big Hit Music. In an interview where he was asked how it was to work with BTS he said that the company mostly just provides the boys whatever they need because BTS knows what they are doing. He also said, "Every conversation with BTS begins and ends with ARMY." 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

The event actually had two parts: the first part with all the hugs, and a second part, with even more people invited, where he performed several songs and tried viral challenges that had happened while he was gone. I had two friends that won tickets to that part and they got flowers too. And all of this was streamed online for Army to watch. He really did so much for us less than day after he was released. The love he has for Army is immense.

And they also got the clock when they collected the ticket at the Festa. So 4000 clocks and 4000 bouquets of lovely blooms . I am so happy to have watched the performance on Weverse .

Jin is so pure. The military could not change his spirit, instead he impacted the lives of those around him and changed those already within the military for the better as a commander, an instructor, a corporal, a sergeant, a warrior, a friend, and someone they could see as FAMILY. Some people understand Jins genuine heart in an instant while for others it may take longer, but one thing is for sure is that once you truly understand how beautiful of a soul Jin is and how amazing he is in everything he does, it's impossible not to fall in love with him and be touched by his sincerity. The most gracious, loving, and flawless and kindest person on the planet, truly.

Somehow he understood what it meant to have the first of the seven come back home. ARMY was just in such yearning for the 6 months when all 7 were gone. I think the floodgates of hope and joy just blew open when he walked out that gate. And when he went live before he even changed out of his uniform, he gave us the unsaid message: you are important to me. And he proves that they are people who keep their promises. Hobi asked us to trust them during Chapter 2. Jin shows they are worthy of that trust. He returns and says: I had a good 18 months in there. I thrived. I was popular. The other members don't usually talk that way, and his "bragging" reassures us: don't worry, we're okay in the military, we make friends, we are adaptable. I think the hugs were perfect for Jin's return. Don't need or expect them from the other members. Again, just symbolizing that ARMY and BTS will be together in real time soon. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

People kept saying that fans would be leaving BTS because of that 1.5 years of no activity, but we stayed and waited. Thus, Jin's hug event was a gesture of showing how appreciative and impress they were with the trust and patience we gave them. so no its not weird at all it heart warming instead that they appreciate the effort the fans gave in waiting and trusting them.

since army that won the hug event flew to korea for a 1 second hug speaks volumes.. lol. no army think it is strange. i admit i did think it was a joke at first because i have never heard such a thing before. but then i remembered it was JIN, and i thought okay, that has to be his idea no one else would be this silly hehe. silly in a innocent cute way.

As important as it was to receive a hug from Jin, it must have been equally as important for each ARMY to give him one. We rarely have an opportunity to communicate our appreciation directly to a member. Even if we did see one out and about, there is an ARMY code to give them their privacy. To be invited into a space where the intent is to share your love and appreciation, via a hug no less, is truly something special.

THIS. I would have LOVED a hug, of course I would have. But in all honesty I would be satisfied with a handshake or just with the opportunity to step up to any of them and thank them for sharing so much of themselves with us KNOWING it would be a welcome interaction and not an encroachment on their private time as running into them unexpectedly would feel.

Seokjin got the details right, too. ARMYs' comments, He smells so nice, fresh & woodsy. His hug is warm, his sweater so soft! Oh, and he gave them table clocks, not watches. And lovely flowers. Such a sweetheart💗💗💗💗

I don't find it weird at all & I don't think it was too fast (as it was 1000 ppl & it was essentially free). He crushed part 2 of the event where he performed. I am just so proud of him!! he wrote on weverse when he enlisted that the first thing he'd do when he got out would be come to see army and he literally got out, went to his car, got to the company and when live a couple hours after he's realise, and that hug fest was literally the next day and he sang and danced, so the day he got out he pobably stayed at the company some long time preparing and practicing insead of going to see family or friends. also in his live he said the hud fest it was something HE wanted to do, but didnt want to pressure or create a presedent for the other members to do the same when they get out, that that was the way he wanted to express his love and appreciation to ARMY. he's the greatest, i'm so happy he's back (also in that first clip of him meeting the members you should also pay attention to their reaction meetting each other since they all are separeted and didnt see each other much until then either, specilly than Vmin hug warms my heart)

He did go out with the members. There is a clip where they left the HYBE building in their cars and fans around the streets cheering. There is also a later group photo where Hobi frankly looks a little drunk. My guess is that he trained before that when he took a holiday or something. But he was at the venue and did a try-out for the performance/song parts the day before.

He initially wanted to do an outside free hug event for 10 HOURS!! Can you believe it? Seokjin's love language is indeed act of service no matter how hard it is for him. He's such a genuine and sweet person.

That is why BTS is so popular because they keep it real. I had never seen this before. I like a lot of groups and artists, but with BTS, there is something different. I feel they are so real down to earth. I love them so much. Can't wait for the 7 angels to be together again. ❤❤❤

I love how Jin is so homespun at heart. His projects aren’t flashy, but are truly from the goodness of his heart. Even not being there to get a hug, I felt honored and loved, as I’m sure many ARMY do. He is so endearing and real. ❤❤❤

I just love Jin. He always fights the company to get what he wants whether it be more food, to drink alcohol on air, or refusing to cut his hair. His charm and persistent always wins. So happy to have him back. The longer clip of his leaving the military showed him hugging and crying with the men in his unit before he met up with his members. It’s going to be an adjustment for him.

To tell the truth, I know very little of Korean culture, but I know that being the oldest comes with privilegies and duties. I was a little worry that being maybe the oldest between the begginers of military would be a problem. I glad he had a great time, with pehaps means the other members are ok too!

He has such nonchalant body language which seems like it can be disarming. The Jin hug fest is really sweet. The selected Army’s get to really feel his energy and experience his scent. The placement of the sign was cleverly protective for the all the huggers involved. WWH is adorable 💜

Kim SeokJin, we always need you. SeokJin always makes a difference, he is on another level. SeokJin is an extremely beautiful human being, he is the most genuine, sincere, humble, sensitive, noble, educated, spontaneous artist in the entire industry, in addition to being multi talented, creative, a beautiful voice, smart and very intelligent, he has a unique personality and a duality that is shocking. Following his life and career is a privilege and an inspiration. SeokJin is a role model, the love that SeokJin feels for army, for his fans, for the members of bts, is deep, sincere and unsurpassable. SeokJin never left us alone, he sent us every month, video messages, written messages with a photo, he maintained the strongest bond every day with army. At the Festa event, SeokJin created every detail for army, gave flowers, gave food, listened to what army wanted and pleased them, sang three songs, danced, hugged, entertained everyone, despite not having rested, that's what he does. only Kim SeokJin for love and commitment.. SeokJin overcomes shyness and any fear or nerves for love and for that inner strength and mentality that he has, which is admirable. SeokJin created new bonds of friendship and family in the military service, he set the bar high for others, he left an indelible mark, he does it wherever he goes. SeokJin paved the way for the other members, he gave them an example and courage so that they could face the situation of military service. A book can be written about Kim SeokJin that would serve as an inspiration for millions of people. Every day I feel more proud of him. I love you so much SeokJin, thank you for being the beautiful person you are. Always with you Moon.

This whole event was just so *JIN.* Yes, there were some outsiders who made snide comments about a 31-yr-old man hugging a bunch of young girls (ARMY is always "young girls" to outsiders-- they forget that many ARMY grew up with the Tannies, and are probably in their late 20s and 30s, too). But that cardboard sign he was wearing rather cleverly kept things modest, and ARMY was THRILLED by the event. (Insanely jealous, yeah, but thrilled for the ARMY who got to go.) The most endearing thing I heard was that many ARMY who got to hug Jin, after they left the event, went right out to their less-fortunate ARMY friends and hugged them, so their friends could receive secondhand hugs from Jin. I often wonder what exactly the Tannies picture when they think of ARMY. I suspect Jin trusts us quite a bit and sees us, in a way, as part of his friend circle-- there's that time he was invited to a film premiere by his "movie star friends" (you know, the only 3 he knows ;) ) but felt too shy to go by himself, so he popped on Weverse at the last minute and invited ARMY to come to the event, so he wouldn't feel alone. (ARMY came, and Jin was very happy.) He WAS definitely nervous during this event and probably felt a little awkward (you could see his hands shaking a little during Part 2, sometimes), but I think the fact he did it demonstrates just how much he loves ARMY. I mean, seriously, the man was out of the military TWO HOURS and did an unscheduled Live with us! Jin is truly every introverted ARMY's role model, because he proves the success of fake-it-til-you-make-it confidence, and he's always encouraging us. 💜

True about the Age of ARMY look at the Japanese lady who got a hug from Jin her own daughter didn't even know her mother was in South Korean let alone getting a hug from Jin until she saw it happening on the screen.

He went out with the members. There is a group photo where Hobi frankly looks a little drunk and Jimin a little sad huddled into his sweatshirt The rest seemed happy. There were unfortunately 2 Japanese fans (in shared fancams) that tried for more/ a kiss and Army got angry - one went to the police and tried to file for sexual harasserment. The police said they would investigate but only after they asked Jin first. so IDK what happened after. Some Army wanted the violating Army to not be allowed on Korean soil again and I have no idea if that is even legal.

The crazy smart part of the members meeting Jin at the gate is that while serving, they are not allowed to be filmed by BH. It's why when Hobi enlisted, Jin was there, but the video couldn't show him, only a photo of the seven of them on their insta. Knowing this, knowing that the media would be covering his release, that ARMY wanted to see them, and that the military can't stop the media from releasing live footage...

Seokjin kept the promise he made to ARMY that he would come see us as soon as he got discharged. I personally would have understood if he had taken some time off but the man literally went live from HYBE a few hours after he got out of the military. And then did his hug event the next day. Highly appreciated. I also like that he made sure to manage ARMY expectations by saying that not all the members may want to do this and that that's their call to make. So much respect for this man.

Definitely not weird! The hug event was so wholesome, and the fact that it was Jin's idea intended to show ARMYs how grateful he is for their unceasing love makes it so pure and special. I mean, being away for almost 2 years is definitely not easy for them-dealing with uncertainties and scary thoughts that they might lose their fans and that their popularity will diminish, especially with many groups debuting after them. But no, until the very end, ARMYs never left; in fact, the fandom even grew bigger. This is why Jin was so insistent on the hug event and held a fan meet, performing for an hour the day after his discharge with no rest at all! BTS's genuine love for their fans is what truly sets them apart from the rest.

I think you were right about it being bitter sweet to leave the military. He had 18 months where he chose to be just a soldier and we saw and heard very little about him and I think he actually really enjoyed his role in the army as a trainer, mentoring the younger men who on average were 10-12 yrs younger than himself. When you said he was the glue in the Military that held things together, I could not help remembering how many times the members have stated that he was the glue in BTS. Hobi once said that without him they would not have succeeded. Because he does things quietly in his own way and always has pushed the others forward, content to be in the background and so proud of his members, shows what a wonderful man he is. He negotiated well because he has been the one negotiating with Hybe over the years for so many things for his members. He was the one responsible for the welfare needs of the group in that aspect. He also has told Army that the hug event was his idea but to please not expect or pressure the other members to follow suit. I expect they will come out with their own ideas. The members often say that he is the quietest and shyest member of the group off camera and changes his persona when in front of cameras to ensure that Army are happy. The hug event was unique and unheard of before in anyone I can remember n my nearly 60 yrs listening to music. I think we are not surprised because Jin often thinks outside the box and is extremely creative. He also loves the army so much that he has always found creative ways to show his love. BTS always the trendsetters. His event post the hug event also incorporated everything we love about Jin, his thoughtfulness, his humour and his beautiful voice. He sang like he had never been away that’s how good he was. Thank you for the lovely review.

The day he was released from service, Jin went straight from the military base to Hybe studios to talk to ARMY! Before THAT all his BTS brothers were there to greet him! Tbh a lot of people are actually attracted to Jin lol, but he's such a good person, south korea named him 'the nations son in law' so you can see him as a brother, friend, etc because he has that genuine vibe. he's so sweet that you see him as a friend but then realize you're in love with him when it's too late to put up your guard. or you fall in love with him instantly bc he has that aura of beauty/kindness/knight in shining armor yet also gives you that urge to protect him. Its like he can protect you, but you want to protect him, a very interesting duality. And you think im joking but i am not, do some digging and you'll see the unique way Jin easily charms people

That's what one needs from the company to think about safety issue's/ concerns. The company should be the one's who do the 'Risk Assessment and come up with 'work around's to keep both artist, fans and the general public safe.

I feel the hug event works both ways. My assumption, Jin being an artist has been away for so long (when your body is so programmed a certain way, dismantled, then trying to get back to what it was) . To get back to what he was a year plus ago is going to take some getting used to. By doing this, he is allowing himself the space start remembering, getting used to things but also to start being comfortable - to reach that level of non awkwardness but also, doing his part to remind that okay, it's a start of everything going back to normal, not in full but once all 7 comes back, it will be full and back to the way it used. For Army, it's like Jin telling them, okay, I have matured, I am different but familiar but I and you will always be. People might not get what I say but there is reasons to this happening and I think it's good. It's a start for all to accept that they are now adults and they know what is best and we as Army who watch them grow should have their backs but believe them that they know what is best. You know what I mean?

I think it was so so beautiful and when I saw the notice I was completely overcome with Jin's beautiful spirit. He's kind, loving and thoughtful, someone who I admire very deeply. I was privileged enough to have won the second session (not the hug) and I was completely overwhelmed with love and awe. Everyone was gifted a bouquet of flowers as a gift on the way out of the venue and I cried so much receiving them. I also had some really beautiful interactions with other ARMY at the festa celebrations, an elder Japanese woman was seated next to me at the concert event and at the end we had only spoken a few words in japanese and english respectively but at the end we both cried a lot and I opened my arms out and she hugged me very tightly before we left and cried a little into my shoulder. BTS inspires so much love between them and us and between each other. I met another ARMY on the way to the venue and she didn't know how to get there or how to get a transport (tmoney card) so we got some food together and then I helped her buy a card and we went on the bus together. My third time in Seoul since 2022 for a BTS event so luckily I know my way around. (The gift wasn't a watch but a beautiful clock)

I found this very thoughtful of him, and just so happy that JIN is still the Jin of BTS. He may be more empowered from his enlistment, but for ARMY, he is the Jin that is loved because of what he is... This is a very heartwarming gesture from him. Even though BTS members are all so thoughtful, JIN gives a different thoughtfulness vibe. They got so much. There was a hug event then a mini concert/meet and greet. But also, there were booths outside open for everyone. There were so many freebies too (tumblers, photocards, clock,flowers, lanyards)

I love the idea of him arguing back and forth trying to make the hugs happen. They probably knew he would get his way eventually, why fight it? What Jin wants, Jin gets 😂 It's incredible that the day after he was released, he was back performing for ARMY again. But it's not at all surprising, its so Jin. It was so lovely to watch. It must have been hard work hugging 1000 people though, but it's clear that he really wanted this to happen and he said he wishes he could have hugged more people. He has such a huge heart 💜 I'm so happy he's back!!

For me, events like this worry me .. because I personally do not see them as celebrities .. I feel that they are my close friends .. and I know that not everyone is like me. . there are many who just want to get close to them, even if it is in an inappropriate way .. and this is scary. Seeing them near the fans is very beautiful and makes you feel like we are a family, but you must be worried .. because there are literally millions .. and we cannot control everyone’s actions.

most of armys used resin to preserve the flowers he gave, sooooooooo sweet 💜💜💜 when i heard about the hug event i was a bit scared for him, probably how the hybe crew felt too, but i think the event went pretty well (except for maybe just two people who crossed the line a bit) i also thought i'd feel jealous, bc i wanted to hug him too, but he has a way to make everyone feel included and there's so much love about the boys that i could only feel happy for him and for the people that were there

I was a super proud ARMY watching Jin’s Hug Event. BTS are a daily source of joy for me so I’m grateful & proud of them everyday. But I was moved to tears watching the Hug Event and seeing how genuine Jin was towards ARMY. Like you said, we don’t usually see these kind of interactions. BTS are such huge global stars now, they could hide behind that status and no one would quibble. But that’s not them, they are authentic. This event radiated out Jin’s love for ARMY. I was so pleased he insisted the ARMYs could film & share it

Oh no, Jin definitely won the negotiation. He only dropped to 1/3, they went up 20x! 😂 I think Jin really knows who he is and what his place is in life. He is very solid and confident in himself. I think perhaps the WWH persona he created has been a sort of shield to him, protecting the real Seokjin behind it, which allows him to see the things he will and won't share more clearly. So even though the 'BTS Jin' we get to see most of the time is a bit of a front, it has actually allowed him to communicate with us more honestly and openly.

He was so sweet and really did look at each ARMY's face, in their eyes. It's awesome that he got to have his hug fest despite the company's apprehension and it looked like he enjoyed himself. The second part of his Greetings with Jin event was impressive seeing as he had only been discharged the day before, he very quickly mastered the stage again. I also feel strange sometimes referring to a thirtysomething year old ex soldier as cute, but Jin totally is and I'm guessing forever will be cute, lol.

Jin makes it impossible not to love him. He and the members are master on how to communicate their love for the fandom. Sure many other artists might feel as much appreciation but NOBODY puts as much care and effort to show how important their fans are.

As usual, I agree with all your comments about how different, thrilling, and surreal this experience must be, as well as being tiring physically. I was concerned about being so soon after discharge, but he did so well. He obviously knew what he needed and felt capable to do it. Plus, he got the immediate gratification of feeling loved by his fans which gave him more confidence and find his mojo. I so love your kind and empathetic perceptions. I would absolutely love to hugged by any or all the guys! I think this event was adorable and there are a lot of envious Armys! 💜💜💜 P.S. I remember I told someone once that when I see BTS, I see love. Describe them in one word-love. They are spreading love through their platforms, including their music. Jin is so loving and sweet, I really hope I get to go to his tour one day when he does one. His album is the 'grande finale' according to the members during 2022 festa. And lol Max, you're right that Jin is so cute. But if you think the majority of armys or people in general think of him platonically, do not go too deep into youtube or the internet in general. He could just be getting a innocent massage or doing pushups and here they go. There are some hilarious videos out there smh, and dont ask me how I know. But on a more sweet note, I hope you check out the 2024 festa 'concert/stage' Jin did, it's around an hour and so well done, very wholesome and lovely.

This year past year has been very difficult for myself and my children since we all were laid off from our jobs and unable to find work, we lost our home and are currently homeless staying with an old friend of mine temporarily, but it is very stressful and my mental health is suffering. BTS and Army are the only ones keeping me going right now, because I am reminded I am not alone even when I am completely overwhelmed by our situation and feel like giving up. BTS reminds me to keep moving forward, one step at a time. Without them and Army, I honestly don't know where I would be.

I had never heard of a hug event before. It reminded me of touch events though where you basically get to touch the hand of the idol. I didn’t get hugs growing up and sometimes have bad episodes triggered by them, so I wouldn’t sign up for this but I read the other comments and can see that it would be great for other people

I think any other artist might’ve felt strange, but for BTS and especially Jin it felt very sweet. I do think the sign around his neck was a very smart, subtle way to look cute but put a little barrier between them. I would think any contact with Jin, however quick, felt amazing to these ARMY.

The gift was actually a clock and not a watch so that was off in the translation. I know because I was there and I got one! I didn’t get the hug but I got session 2 and the flowers and clock! It was amazing and i was so happy that Jin got to hug ARMYs. Such an unprecedented thing to do the day after getting out of the military!
