This was a part of an online concert during the pandemic and I think the sound quality is quite disappointing. It's the only time he's performed Moon live and I think it's such a shame that they had the vocal backing track up that high because he doesn't need it. He's got a really stabil vocal even while dancing and he's done a sustained G5# live before without even going into breathy falsetto (in Crystal Snow) so there's no problem with his register either. I would suggest Zero O'clock live by the vocal line or Crystal Snow live by the whole group to better hear their live vocals. 💜

I think that's a fair observation. Me not being as familiar and close to the work, I didn't mind, but I do get it. Artists I'm close to sometimes use tracks and sometimes don't and I guess I get the same vibe haha. None the less, even if there was room for better audio, he translated his talent well. Ig the high backing track was there for all solo performances because they did many songs and performances with hard choreos before their solos and Bighit might have thought they would need it. For example Jungkook was heavily drained in day2 of My Time because of the hard ass choreo

So just a little of context in case your interested, the song is a song dedicated to army and he talks about how he's the moon who's always orbiting around the earth and admiring it's beauty (the earth being army🥺), that's why he hugs the earth at the end🥺 the moon and the earth, they always have each other, just like bts and army💜

Oh that's so pretty. I'm a Baby Army so I hadn't known that Moon was dedicated to fans. It's such a pretty song and probably my fave solo track from a vocal line member that I've heard so far. It's heartwarming to know that cute little tidbit.

I think at this online concert the sound quality not as good as other live performance. You can check “ephipany” and “awake” live performance maybe on your own time if you want to have a better experience for Jin live vocal. Sorry for my english 😁

Jin wrote this song about his relationship with his fans, Army. When he hugs the earth at the end, my heart melts 🥺🥰 every time 😂 Thanks for your reaction. Jin was so cute at the end hugging the earth 😭 Moon is a song dedicated to army, the lyrics are so beautiful and this song it's honestly one of favorites. This performance was part of an online concert and like you can see, the sound quality was not the best but still his performance was really good. Also, I wanted to mention that the video you watched is showing the performance from another camera point view that's why you can see the cameraman recording and stuff (I'm not sure if the zoom on Jin's face most of the time was only on this camera or the person who posted this video did that to avoid copyright and get blocked since this was paid content). And yes, this one has backing vocals and like you say I like the fact he's not faking anything, Jin is not acting like he's singing some parts and we can clearly hear when he does. 👏🏻💜 Actually, 90% of the times BTS prefers to perform with a live band or they let the backing track but just in some parts of the songs. Seokjin is actually one of the members or probably the member with the most stable live vocals. I'm so proud of him because he started with zero experience at dancing and singing and look at him now! I honestly love his tone so much. By the ways, Grammy panel gave him the title of ' Silver voice' because of his "so stable breathing that he can easily switch between head voice and true voice."

This is one of his best songs emotionally and vocallly, though the staffs behind the scenes decisions concerning sound mixing and his mic sometimes irritate us as his fans, because if there's one thing I can say with confidence- its that Jin is one of the most versatile and powerful vocalists both in studio and live not just in the group (as much as certain fans want to deny, it *is* true) but in his field- especially because he didn't start singing until he was 18-20 and had no background in music yet can now write, compose, sing, dance, and even choreograph. He even got recognition from the Grammys as they referred to him as the 'Silver Voice'. I hope you check out some of his other songs like 'Awake', 'Tonight', or 'Epiphany'- and 'So far Away' isnt a solo but his vocal performance there is what made him permanently a fave.

a few comments: I would add Abyss to that list of recommendations. Yes, he choreographs - deliberately goofy moves that he doesn't take seriously just to make people laugh. Seokjin was complimented by Lim Hyung-joo, *one* voting member of the Grammy Recording Academy, not the entire "Grammys". It wasn't some kind of consensus by the 12,000 voting members in the Recording Academy. Misattributing the source of the compliment to make it grandiose - and then turning around and hating the Academy for shutting BTS out of main categories and snubbing them for awards - is so hypocritical. We can't have it both ways. It betrays ignorance of the system and our inability to fact check. Jin is amazing enough without exaggeration.

The funny thing is I was just messaging someone about how certain groups of people always show up whenever Jin receives praise without having a backhanded compliment underneath it, because it goes against some narrative that I'm not sure who came up with in this fandom. Jins role is not just to be a gag, or to be the humor of the group even if his bright personality is appreciated- its been said before that his real personality is serious and quiet and hes said that 'only you should know how hard you work' which means even if he's putting in effort he's going to downplay it out of humbleness. But he DOES find pride in the things he does and wants recognition like anyone else, yet tries to keep the atmosphere unserious because he doesn't want the mood to be gloomy as quoted by himself. When he makes people laugh, it's just to make them happy. But his work is not just to be silly or a gag, even if fans automatically want to perceive it that way because they think everyone has some assigned role in the group. When Jin does 'Super Tuna' or 'Spinebreaker', that takes effort and thought even if you think it's only 'funny'. Thats the problem with diminishing someones art just because of how you perceive them. It's also harmful to the artist themselves, as shown by Jins efforts in dancing constantly being diminished even when he's improved so much over the years, you can see comments affect him (and even Namjoon). and I'm not sure why you're bringing up 'hating the academy' as if you and I ever had discussions before for you to assume I've ever said anything against them or to group me with whoever you're imagining- I've never said anything against the Grammy's because we all know how they work by now, there's a reason despite the backlash people want their recognition. Do I think it should be the only goal an artist should strive for or the ultimate praise of all praises you can get? No, but I do think it's worth something if the artists themselves want that recognition and Jin received that whether or not you want to discredit it because you want 12,000 people to state it at once for it to mean something. You're claiming exaggeration but nothing I said was untrue.

I don't dispute the fact his voice has been called silvery - it's a great description - by one particular member of the voting party associated with the Grammy Awards. I don't, however, think it reflects well on ARMYs ability to be rational and intelligent to perpetuate a story that it has been declared my some great Grammy entity that doesn't exist. The Grammys are not a single person able to name him their Silver Voice. It's an award show. The Recording Academy has 12k people who vote on awards. The guy who came up with that great description is one member. Don't you see the distinction? It is not tearing the members down to be accurate!

you should definitely check out mma 2019. it’s a long one, but it’s a cool greek god concept and it shows off each members skills stage presence/dance wise, and also has some of my favourite songs (such as the one with more rock elements!)

The youtube channel EnjoyBTSmore has great BTS live performances with English subtitles from doolset (most recommended translations). No Moon so far though but there are performances from BTS concerts and tv appearances. That would be a great resource to check out

Not sure why you chose this? No doubt I’ll be enlightened watching the swivel thing.In terms of BTS choreography there is tonnes more intricate live than this, you’re right. “DNA”, “On”, “Fire”, “Mic Drop” etc etc. Please check out JHope from BTS at Lollapalooza. Record breaking ticket sales of 100, 000 on one night and around 25 million streamed live around the world. Truly it was magic. 👌

The studio version of this song has a lot of layering of his own voice so I'm guessing for this live performance they used the backing vocals as "the other layers" (but I feel it was a bit too loud). The same can be seen on the same online concert on Jimin's performance of Filter (another song with a lot of layers of his voice, and in that song the layering is part of the spirit of the lyrics even)
