Yoongi has always struggled with fame and the pressures of it, he's expressed how much anxiety he gets when he realizes how much more attention BTS is slowly getting as time passes. I think it was when they confirmed that BTS would be performing at the AMAs that he said he'd cried in his hotel bathroom because he was scared.

I remember crying when i watched and heard SHADOW for the first time. When Yoongi said he went home after winning an award from a western award show and cried himself inside his hotel room because their fame at some point scared him and all the internal struggle that came with it. I love how vulnerable he is in the song. 🥺

Idol was Namjoon's era. I said what I said and, I meant what I said. I think of Idol as DNA's cooler, younger sister lol. It was a powerful way to end the Love Yourself era. Also, as someone to grew up and continues to live in Southern Africa, it was so cool hearing sounds from music around here in Idol. Even friends of mine who aren't into kpop said it sounded like House music lol (House is a genre of music around here. Very different to Western House music)

I'm sure others have mentioned this but the live performance of "Idol" from the 2018 MMA's is INCREDIBLE! If you have a chance, you should definitely watch it. Along with that RM opened up their 2019 MMA performance with "Persona" and OMG, another must watch. That whole performance is a masterpiece but not sure if you've heard every song yet that they did in it. BTS live is just on another level, especially those 2 award show performances.

The suits are made with Ankara print cloth, it's traditional African patterns (im forgetting which countries claim it as theirs but it's several), and during the oh-oh-ooowoh part of the chorus boys are dancing an African dance called gwara gwara; African armys loved the representation 💜 there are also many elements of Korean culture in outfits, rhythms, and set design! omg I literally hooked my phone up to my car so I could watch this on the way to work lol. Honestly watching you react to shadow almost made me cry. In terms of song writing namjoon and yoongi’s styles really compliment each other and speak to me personally. The entire rapline trio in general are like three parts of a perfect whole. But with persona and shadow you can really see it-Namjoon’s lyrics are very introspected and make you think and relate it to your own experiences while Yoongi’s lyrics are incredibly raw and personal and even though they’re specific to him, you just Get It. Probably a part of why they’re my ults is their music, it never fails to affect me.

Oh, so happy you did another BTS marathon! Idol was such an iconic song and seeing it live is almost an out-of-body experience of happiness and hype. There are a lot of references for Korean culture and also criticism BTS received in the past (like the glasses etc). Shadow and Persona are just two amazing songs that complement each other a lot and they are still very hard-hitting and very Namjoon and Yoongi at the same time. When you listen to them with the album, you will notice how well they fit with the whole concept and the whole "story" in it. BTS lyricism is just unmatchable. Stay Gold is such a feel-good song. Very chill and happy and just makes you stay with a warmer heart, like a comforting hug. Excited to see your experience with the full album when you arrive at that era. It is incredible.
