yes, bts do use a track during a lot of live performances with choreography. i dislike when army make them out to be these magical unicorns that don’t use autotune or use backing tracks. autotune is often used for effect, not to fix their singing. backing tracks are needed, especially during heavy choreography, but they are still singing! e.g., they use a backing track during run bts in busan, but they are still singing, although you can see parts when they are not singing at all and the track takes over. it’s not a big deal.

Yeah but the audio levelling and back up track levels were super off as well. Like some mics were why lower than others and were either over or under the track. The mixer either was sick that day or slept

It was worse in 2020. Sometimes, u can't even listen to their live voice because of their backtrack. But whenever a bangtan bomb released, u could clearly see they all were singing, but u couldn't hear some of their voice. Also, they looked bored singing the same song again and again. It's totally ridiculous, but most of the army just unseen the whole thing. BTS was excellent until 2019, after that, whoever is working with them is a useless team. Including scooter in their team is a big fault.

they usually sing over a track. that’s not new or bad. all idol groups do because of the dancing bc your output is going to be less, e.g., during run bts at the yet to come concert, there is a track. when seated or just standing they often do without one.

Every artist around the world sing over a track cuz of lots of different reasons, like for example the audience don't want to hear background noise picked up by the mics like one the mic bumps into someone or things or shoes squeaking to help the music to be heard over a noisy crowd. Especially to give the singer a break when they need to take a breathe or if they forget a lyric too. So it's not a bad thing it's to make the experience better overall. It's not cuz the artist can't sing or what not.

I said he took English class last year. 😊 But I think he can speak some sentences even he says he cannot, I know he is shy, humble and self critical and this combination is tricky. 😅 Maybe he understands better now after the last year he learnt. The Jimmy Fallon show was in the beginning of the year maybe he started later? Anyway when it comes to speaking fluent English RM is the only one.

@Just Not Anime, E-Man they do use backing tracks they do not lip-synch but they do use the backing track in order to help them especially when there’s no live band if they are going on tour they’re gonna have a live band but this was just a small performance on a talk show ,I’m not exactly sure what country they were in, JodyJo your nails look fly I love that color blue!😊💜🙏🏼

Be is BTS album not V's but "blue and grey" was supposed to be in V's album he wrote it during quarantine when he was at the lowest point of his life and it's the time when he wasn't loud and goofy like he used to be but now as in 2024 he's definitely back to his normal self💜

You're right, the audio is trash but that's probably not because they're not singing. 🤔 I think the background music was too loud and the microphones levels too low. V's mic was definitely off (either he couldn't sing that day or there was a problem with it). It doesn't really make sense for them to NOT sing live in such a small venue compared to all the performance they do. So in my opinion it was technical sound issues.

Is not that they don't use backtrack, almost all singers with hard choreography does it. What they don't do is lipsing. We can see whenever they stop signing and leave it to the backtrack. In here i think is more about the mic volume than anything, because we can still see whenever they aren't actually signing (they don't even move their lips). But yeah the mic volume and the track weren't in sinc in here

i am not sure if true but i thought i read a comment that one of the stray kids members said if you are not in "good voice" one day bc of their hectic schedules/talking too much, they might rely on a backing track for you that day, maybe V was not in good voice that day?

The backing track is used and you don’t see them singing during certain parts. This is because they have to exercise breath control. They are singing certain parts, but we can clearly see they are not singing. All of the guys speak Japanese, Jhope RM and Jimin speak Chinese. Japan has the 2nd largest music market behind the US. Jimin is studying English. He was taking lessons before military service. JK is more confident speaking English now because he recorded Golden. J-Hope was the one who would help RM during small interviews. I have a strong feeling Suga is more proficient in English than he lets on. Don’t you think during AHL, they tried more to learn English and they picked it up well? They had to try and there were English speakers all around them. If they had continued immersive learning of English after AHL, they all would be fluent by now. Do you guys have Insta accounts?

The backing track is always there because of the heavy choreo but their audio system was off. The mics weren't tuned right so you couldn't hear them, and then the audio team overcompensated by turning the backing track up too loud

JK learned english well because Bighit enrolled him in a school with English subject since he was a trainee and even brought him to US to study dance and stage performances during his trainee period. BTS said that in American Hassle Life.. In other words, Bighit invested on JK earlier on as they saw his promising potential. All BTS came to Seoul to become trainees and, by fate, landed on Bighit, except for Jimin and V who auditioned in their hometown when Bighit went to hunt kids with potential. JK and Jimin came from Busan which has the strongest and deepest intonation in SK. Unlike Jimin who left Busan at age 17, JK left Busan at 13 to audition in Seoul. It was said that, in the bigenning, it was quite hard for Jimin in Seoul, because he was bullied at his new school due to his Busan deep accent and it was V, who was then 1 year ahead enrolled in the same school, who defended and protected Jimin from bullies. Of course, even the bullies were not exempted from the Jimin effect and came to succumb to Jimin's adorable, humorous and sweet aura. Being a well trained in martial arts, Jimin would not dwell on ugly fights for martial arts students do not fight unceremoniously. All the 7 boys could speak Japanese, RM and Jimin are equally expert in Japanese. Jimin, as a kid, enrolled and studied the Japanese martial arts Kendo for 8 years during which he studied the Japanese language. Today, all BTS could understand speak English. Yet, RM's fluency in English js unmatched by his fellow members. Suga and JK are next to RM. Among the members, it's only recently when BTS has no tour concert that Jimin got free and decided to study English language.

@@Kookiepookie2025 Yes, he still has it and it becomes,apparent when he wants to sound like a Busan gentleman like when they had their last concert in Busan he did spoke the language with perfect Busan deep accent. But, JK, when speaks casually to ARMY nowadays, can be mistaken as Seoul grown up kids for he talks like any homegrown kid from Seoul, not to mention that JK is naturally talented in mimicking people. Jimin, on the other hand, could hardly get away with his Busan deep accent and it even manifests when he speaks English, unless he really undertake formal study of the English language.

Dudes…..they have to use a backing track when there is no live band……EVERYBODY uses one. It sounds like their sound engineers are not doing good a job of balancing their live vocals with the backing track. However…..unfortunately you can’t hear cuz Jodie keeps singing over the top of them (though you do have a good voice Jodie)😳

Actually Jimin has been trying to learn English to support RM for years. In the V Live they did together in 2019 RM showed us a video of Jimin spending 8 hours of a flight trying to learn English and asking RM questions. Rm said he was so touched by it. When he asked Jimin why he had done that he replied to help RM out with the burden of always speaking English and RM was so humble. They then went on to talk about all the members giving speeches and how much they have all grown in confidence. It was such a touching Live they did together and is one of my favourites. Jimin has said several times he wants to learn to support RM but finds it so hard.

Actually they do like V. It's they haven't seen much of his work, I think. Also, his voice does sound like it's having a hard time projecting out thru the mic. Although, ppl who have a lower voice tone have to work harder to be heard over the track verses others who sing at a higher range tho. Maybe it's one of those times they had mic and sound troubled unfortunately, it happens from time to time. Especially, it can happen on certain channels it can occurs often.
