I'm a fan of many K-Pop groups, but there's just something about BTS that sticks out to me the most. Don't get me wrong every group is talented, but BTS's artistry is on another level when it comes to music production, song writing, and dance. It's really impressive and inspiring seeing their come up considering they were the underdogs in the music industry for more than half of their career.

This mv has a lot of biblical and movie references (yes the Lion King is one of them.. Pride Rock, Bird Box and Maze Runner are some)... The dove basically means peace and the conch shell when blown means rejoice or a journey in a Eternal moment. Hope that helps you a bit

Thank you for reacting ! ❤️ The reason there is two music videos to the same song is because this was part of a big project BTS had come up with involving the release of their Map of the Soul : 7 album. In the first music video, it was more about the song and the dancing hence “kinetic” in terms of art is using motion to show effectiveness. This is what BTS did. They used dancing to express a new idea, a feeling. In this MV, it is more cinematic and contains biblical references. The last part “ NO MORE DREAM “ to “DREAM” is a nod towards BTS debut song “No more dream” . Basically, ON represents BTS attitude towards where they stand and accepting themselves as both light and shadow. It is also a part of a concept in which BTS has began to reference their older works with their song titles.
@cateyez4653 жыл бұрын
To be honest there is a BTS storyline that follows through the BTS music videos that you will love it starts with I Need U.... There is a list. The dove is symbolic I think because of Jin and the storyline you will catch that later.
@SemilieJ953 жыл бұрын
i tried to tell you in the last reaction that there were two MVs, but my comment drowned 😂 theres a lot of symbolism in this mv yes, and i think you can also find ways it relays to the BU storyline. FYI, the ending with NO MORE DREAM is a reference to their debut song called just that. And ON flipped is NO which was one of their first songs as well :) the Album ON was on called Map of the Soul: 7 had a lot of references to their earlier work, using beats and intros from earlier songs, or just similarities in name like Boy With Luv is one of the new songs, while Boy In Luv is one of their first songs. Also We Are Bulletproof pt 2 is their second debut song, and they have We Are Bulletproof: the Eternal on Map of the Soul
@juvienneaudreycapule7653 жыл бұрын
If you want to understand the symbolisms of their music videos there are a lot of theories for their mvs. Channels like XCeleste DkDktv (focus more on the Korean aspect and culture and wordplay) Bookish theories do them There are a lot of hidden meanings and references to their mvs and music like a huge storytelling. So that f you want to dive into that rabbit hole. I recommend to try out these channels.

I knew you guys would realize it was the same song just different videos. BTS always takes everything to another level. Check out Black Swan if you haven’t already. The diversity in BTS music mirrors the different backgrounds of the members....and unlike other groups, their agency never made them choose or force them into a genre. So what you’re hearing is BTS. It’s a freedom others don’t enjoy. Borahae!!💜

Ah, the ancient art of Korean story telling. BTS: 'we are sure, Army gonna figure whats going on in this version' Army: 'we are ON it, but we still waiting for the final result' What I'm saying is, BTS videos in general don't match the lyrics. It leaves open to allow your personal feelings, moods. All songs have a deeper meaning, but never directed a certain person/gender/situation. 'If you feel it, the shoe fits'-Suga A lot of songs are like 'self-help' music, empowering. And you totally can rock with it. I can never sit still.

Some of their MVs have a couple of different versions.... all their work is amazing and almost always symbolic meanings 😅 So lives your reaction to Daechwita. It haven’t heard you mention anything in your BTS reactions.... ya’ll pieces together the BTS connection? 😀 hope you check out more. Tons of meaning in this one with references to several different movies and religions. But yes, the dove was shot at the beginning and appeared to be dead.... during the MV, Jin carries a bird cage into a room sadly, and then covers it and then it moves and he is surprised.... references to resurrection, healing and renewal.... also there are 7 birds flying over the rock toward the end.... there are seven members and this album came out in their 7th year....

Thank you for acknowledging the way we see BTS and for even trying to understand what we mean when we say “Bts is different”. I know a lot of people want to bring up how all kpop groups paved their own way and I totally understand that and agree. Some even say there’s other groups that are way better than BTS and in their opinion that might be true. But when we say BTS paved the way and are different we don’t mean they’re better than others, we mean BTS are just in their own league. There’s so many different reasonings for this too. THIER message is all about loving yourself and they take action with that message. BTS has done so much for so many people with their platform and are truly one of a kind. They were born to do what they’re doing and they were meant to be together. The way their minds work are insane and it shows through their music. The story lines, the lyrics, and the MV’s are all so well put together. BTS paved the way and I mean it in the most respectful way. Even if you don’t get into kpop, you’ve heard of BTS. The amount of fans they have and their dedication to BTS proves just that. Again, thank you for what you said about starting to see how BTS might have paved the way. It means a lot🥰

Kpop to them is not a genre...its musical storytelling, an amalgamation of the music, dance, costumes, themes, performances to create both an auditory and visual experience. There is so much info about them but we're easing ya in! You might he interested to know they write and produce alot of their own music. Guys, here's the meaning of this music video, simplified: Pain equals growth. The lyric "bring the pain" is a call to challenge. These guys have worked so hard, and faced so much adversity in their careers, that they have become familiar with pain...so much so, that they have come to learn that pain is actually the key. It's the key to growth. It's the key to progress. It's the key to success. "Where does it hurt the most? Then focus your attention there..." and you will find success. Are your vocal skills lacking? Press into the aspect of your singing you fail at the most. Are your dance skills lacking? Then press into practice and repetition... are your rapping skills lacking? Then PRESS. IN. Push into the pain. What hurts the most? The point at which you lack the most... it hurts the soul... hurts the ego. When you come to the place where you can push into that pain despite how much it hurts you, you will ultimately find success.

I know many have their theories and there’s no animal cruelty, the first time in awhile (seven years) they finally surprised me 👀 with so much symbolism using a live marching band along with church chorus and the moment I saw Jin battlefield w/ bird & empty cage after along battle, Jimin w/things of the past, blindfolded girl w/Tae broken wings & neck tattoo (represents infection), namjoon w/ animals & ship, thornbinded bleeding jungkook, Hobi open field of twisted trees w/passed out JK, Suga in underworld. Everything literally reminds everyone of lord of the rings and noah’s ark with maze runner combination of the lion king with the different time period outfits & scenes, apocalyptic fake love dance break, dove of hope, JK horn call of freedom while trying to understand his story then he does the young forever run up the rock smiling and i’m like 😱🤯 After watching the second time OMG OMG I think finally got the meaning toward the end Jin released the dove (represents JK), the horn call of freedom, walking through the wall, the firestorm and up the rock is them beginning of a new chapter with new songs, genres, and concepts. Regarding the wall I believe this is BTS’s way of showing that they’re ready to move onto the next chapter of hope & freedom showing how far theyve come and confidently walking up the pride rock b/c of how proud they are of their legacy. which is why they put their debut track “NO MORE DREAM” changing to “DREAM” (PAST MEETS PRESENT) *THERES SO MANY APOCALYPTIC REFERENCES* They finally put together their HYYH storyline which means they have completed that part of the story! *Regarding the blindfold girl, there’s many theories....some say she could be innocence so that she doesn’t see the negative world then V uncovers her eyes to a better place and others say her along with the extra people represent the ARMY and its BTS way of showing the people who are blinded (not physically) to the positive impact the music has in the world and leading them to a better future but the true meaning behind the girl is she represents the little sister V lost (HYYH Storyline). Also, those were real thorns around JK’s wrists which is according to him one of the reasons he was running because he wanted to get them off and he did when he entered the pond which was a real place then picked up the horn to blow it (No worries I’m sure he was he was vaccinated before getting into the water so he wouldn’t get sick or catch a disease).* #BTSOn

@ericweinman94473 жыл бұрын
The song is rather complex in meaning. Briefly "On" is an avocation for psychologist Karl Jung's idea that what he calls individuation is essential to emotional health. It is a powerful concept approached variously in many BTS songs from their "Map of the Soul 7" album. I could recite the many allegories in both the lyrics and music video imagery but a large share of them are covered by DKDKTV in an explanation video. It is very helpful. There is a lot there so I recommend the explanation video as most commenters for the "On" music video reactions seem to marvel at pointing out the wide variety of the biblical and movie references without ever discussing why they are there. BTS tends to have overarching themes to albums and "On" much like "Black Swan", "Persona", "Shadow", "Ego", and "Louder than Bombs" all are integrated into the album's theme.

This is going to sound sappy but, for me, BTS is more than just a very talented group of young men. If you watch the other things that they do, how they treat each other and others is what got me hooked. I am a 58-year-old white woman and I have always loved music...R&B, Pop, Hip Hop, and even some country but I have NEVER in my life cried over any other artist or group...EVER. For the last 4 years, we have seen just how selfish and cold we treat each other in the states. I loved my country before Trump and now I realized that if almost half this country can support and defend such a monster, this is not a country that I can be proud of. I lived in Korea for 2 years in the 80's and it is just a very kind and loving culture and to see it again with these amazing young men, brings me to tears almost every time I watch them. BTS gives me hope and reminds me that we can be better. I am almost like a very proud mother to these boys. Thanks for being good to my babies.
