ok...thIs song is them clapping back at their haters (and there were MANY) as they started out. This song came out after they won their first US BILLBOARD award and were the first Asian group to do so. They are now considered global superstars, no longer kpop. I would encourage you to watch Taylor's Guide to BTS to understand just how talented they really are. They are the first group since the BEATLES to have 3 #1 albums in a year. I think it's fair to say that most music acts don't get so globally recognized by being basic. These guys are superstars due to their hardwork, talent, and dedication to putting out great music with a great message💜💜💜

9:30 That’s RM, the group’s leader and our President. He’s one of the main songwriters in the group, very intelligent, kind and thoughtful, and puts out a wide range of songs from hard hitting bangers like Persona or Joke to moving introspective ones like Lonely or Forever Rain, with lots more I could list in between.

Finding Jimin was fun! 😂You know RM just dropped his new album. The 'Lost' MV is like an avant-garde art piece. I also recommend Jimin's 'Lie' stage mix.

No this came out in 2017 before the pandemic!!!! BTS started off as a tough boy group back in 2013. And your friend with the shades was right about finding Jimin.

Surprising they made that switch of style in Dynamite. Fans must have been simultaneously enraged and delighted.

@KPopOnLock They still do alot of hip hop. They mix it up in their music a lot, either individually or as a group. They keep us on our toes.

@@KPopOnLockNot in the slightest, because you see, we understand that they are artists and that they switch up music genres like other artists change their socks - AND pull each new genre off like the professionals they are. We also appreciated the effort in singing a fully English song when only one of them actually speaks English. Not to mention that they got their first Billboard Hot 100 number 1 with Dynamite, and 100M+ KZbin in 24 hours (broke their own record, then broke it again - and still hold it - with “Butter” the following year). Guy on the left - “you nice, keep going” (Jimin quote). Guy on the right - I think you’re trying to be funny, but it’s coming across condescending and not-so-subtly mocking.

@@OT7_DopeOldARMY My name is Ku (guy on the left) and In defense of my dear friend Aus (guy on the right) I want to say that he is one of the best human beings I have ever met on this planet. He will do damn near anything for people who need help. Im not sure if he understands just how much these artists mean to us but he means no disrespect. Yes he is trying to be funny and sometimes he is. It’s just his style. At least you get to change the channel or mute him, I have to live with him.

Mic Drop is BTS' response to their haters with a little flexing on the side spitting facts...lol. with Suga's epic lines "tasteless ratatouille" & "sue it". I recommend you check their latest live performance of Mic Drop from their Yet To Come Busan concert last October 2022 where it was attended by 70k live audience and was livestreamed by over 50M worldwide causing the apps to crash from time to time but sooooo worth it. You will feel the same energy. 🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯 Thanks for reacting to BTS.

Welcome, guys, to the perfect world of BTS, the South Korean boy band that has touched the hearts of the whole world.

To give some background on the guys, many have mentioned watching Taylor Mari's 'A Guide to BTS Members: The Bangtan 7' which gives a nice bio on each of the members. Another good one that will give you a sense of how deep their discography goes and more of their evolution musically is Rice Squad's, "The Most Beautiful Life Goes On: A Story of BTS (2023 Update!)." It gives a brief history of K-pop , how Big Hit started, how BTS came to be, and their evolution from Hip Hop to IDOL using the chrono of their album releases to take you from their beginnings pre debut to around August 2022. It also gives you the sense of the very tactical evolution of their sound over the years up to that point in time. Enjoy. 💜

BTS comes from Hiphop: 2 members were underground rappers (RM under Runch Randa and Suga/Agust D under Gloss - also a trained prodcer) - one a streetdancer in a crew called Neuron (J-Hope). Jimin was a dancer who competed, too, in dance battles but the last year and a few months before he auditioned he did more contemporary dance. The vocalline followed the raplines stye before deveoping their own - for the first time on the wings-album (about Hermann Hesse's book "Demian"). With about 300 to 500 songs if you count free songs, remixes, pre-debut, OST, collabs and solo work - you are likely to hit pretty much all genres in BTS in 3 languages - Korean (most of it), Japanese and a handfull of English songs. An Intro may also help or maybe a video essay: bby gang mag: - BTS vs. K-pop (has a section what K-pop even is) - you are wrong about K-pop (because Western media usually refuses to actually report fairly about "K-pop") - BTS: More Than K-pop (why BTS) Yes, they got a lot of s* - there are entire videos about how much and it is astonishing how much nonsense is out there. But even this MV is not for esthetic alone: it has some interesting call-backs to their own past. They do a lot of genre-hopping. But they also usually concept album over multiple albums with a lot of wordplay and till 2020 a story of coming of age under various aspects including challenging the system.

He didn't "do more contemporary dance" he studied it professionally in high school, it's his main dancing style....
@ruthfischer76158 ай бұрын
@@marirezende8478 Yes... for about 1 year and a few month where it was the main subject. The rest was "more" for his popping etc. dance style - which I think he also had classes in before *and* IN highschool - a teacher or the school (I'm not sure who) paid for as his family couldn't afford it but it would have been sad if Jimin had to stop.

@@ruthfischer7615 What are u talking about Jimin went to an arts high school and studied contemporary dance 😭😭 yes he did learn hip-hop, but it wasn't his main style and he had to train it like the others before BTS's debut because it wasn't his main style.
@ruthfischer76158 ай бұрын
@@marirezende8478 Never said he didn't. But it was only 1 year and a few months. Before and even during he had lessons for Hiphop. Even if it is true that he may only have had a small class for it during highschool it's still a class. That does not mean he didn't have to relearn how to hold himself naturally for the more Hiphop dance style of Idol choreo. We all know he faught with that. But it is also a fact that he competed in locking/popping or simlar.

Thinking BTS is Dynamite is liking fishing in a koi pond and thinking it's the Pacific Ocean. ARMY, the BTS fandom, loves being surprised as we never know what the next BTS song genre might be so we just learned go with it. Steve Aoki is a DJ whose home is in Las Vegas and he's known for throwing cake when he's on the decks and is an EDM artist with a number of albums to his credit. He's done several songs with BTS (as well as rock bands like Linkin Park) and he adores BTS.

BTS videos are very detailed. This song was their last farewell to all their haters. It wasn't just a couple of other groups or their fans, it was lots and lots of them and the media that were watching their every move, hence the interrogation room and prison scenes and all the microphones and cameras. The people in black hoodies represent their haters, throwing hate at them. This song was to say to their haters that despite all that hate they have been successful. They are not looking for apologies even, just letting the haters know that it doesn't bother them so leep hating if they want and BTS will continue on with their worldwide, billboard success, selling out stadiums around the world.

Firstly, Jimin is a vocalist. He didn't rap except on special occasion. But there are vocalist like Jungkook who rap in BTS early songs. Yes, you spotted Jimin as the blond ones. The white hair rapper is Suga aka AgustD for his solo songs. The rapper came out from ambulance is RM, the leader. The first rapper is j-hope, the dance leader. There's 3 rappers in BTS. Mic drop came out in 2017 from their love yourself series. Not sure how you wanna go about of your BTS reaction ie by suggestion, by popularity or by sequence. I assume by suggestion...probably you can react to fake love or on kinetic manifesto next. 😊 p/s your sound is kinda soft. I had to turn on my volume to the max to hear you. Forgive this old lady. Fun fact: Jimin was first taught to rap. It was Suga who wanted him to sing as he guessed at how it would sound as a producer himself. And he was right: Jimin is a wonderful countertenor and from what I hear one of the main reasons why a lot of BTS songs are this high. Synergy: that is one of the best things about BTS - they are all phenomeons on their own - but together they break the sky.
