The best thing about rhaenys’ armor is that it looks like it’s been battle worn, and not shiny/brand new. She’s comfortable in it, the way one gets used to broken in riding boots. I don’t know what fights she may have done, but she’s done some, and man ALIVE is she a badass.

0:15 - 0:47 is a terrifying window into how Sara Hess in particular approaches storyboarding. "It went in immediately and we never looked back." Seeing as most people only acknowledged the additional scene as a visual spectacle, it's pretty grating that the screenwriters are so comfortable in deliberately missing the mark.

I don't think the Meleys scene breaking through the Dragonpit was necessary. I know it's fan service to give Rhaenys her BADASS MOMENT but it made her look bad towards the commoners. I already liked Rhaenys before that scene. I see her and Viserys as the only two "adults" in this series. The only ones rational and a voice of reason. I already knew Rhaenys was a badass knowing what happens to her at the end. The scene wasn't needed to confirm that. Perhaps the scene gives the common folks a more valid reason to storm the Dragonpit later on. But this also gives the dragon an excuse to escape if Meleys could break through. I only saw that scene as added fan service for Team Black and people who likes Rhaenys which I already did by Ep 5. Otto is a real piece of work. He's been plotting to kill Daemon for 20 years It's only the next day after Rhaenyra left for Dragonstone and Otto is already ordering for her death while pregnant and long before Viserys died. *I* *now* *condone* *Blood* *and* *Cheese.* Feel bad for Helaena. I find both Alicent and Aegon complex because sometimes I want to strangle them. Other times, I'll pity them. And I can relate to Aegon. When I lived in the Philippines from 2011-2016, all I did that first year was go to brothels. I'm like Daemon and Aegon paying for poon tang. I'm a first-born son like Aegon. At 13, I masturbated just like Aegon. Not from a window and I never raped anyone, but a lot of his flaws, I actually have. High expectations from parents. Only disappointed them once I reached my teens. Aemond might look cooler than Aegon but where's his layers? I need more than just being a badass. I have Viserys and Rhaenys over Khal Drogo because I seem to know them more. Drogo, Oberyn, and Selmy were all badasses but we barely knew them. So I understand the fandom for the Greens. Doesn't mean l'll root for them, think they're right, or love any of them, but I enjoy watching their complexities. I may hate what Alicent or Aegon does and then start feeling sorry for them like 2 minutes later. Aegon is the guy who skipped prom but still got named prom king. Zero effort to achieve it. Just be born with a penis and be first in line like Prince (now King) Charles and Prince William.

Her Father was Aemon Targaryen, once Prince of Dragonstone, heir to the Iron Throne, son of Jaeherys Targaryen, whose mother was also Alyssa Velaryon, and father Aenys I. This would make Rhaenys’s Father (Aemon) and her Mother (Jocelyn) half aunt and nephew.

I was hyped for Rhaenys to have her moment and the chills were there, but showrunners should really stick to the book since once they got off the leash with a completely original scene, it made little sense. Even if the Princess somehow suffered no resistance from guards, dragonkeepers or locked doors on her way to Meleys and was willing to decimate commoners while sparing her real enemies, humans don't survive stone debris damage, that much Cersei and Jamie proved to us.

Absolutely stellar 1st Season. I actually had a problem with the escape though. I feel there wasn't enough setup. Your answers just don't seem to jive. I can suspend belief and still enjoy it, but I've been spoiled. With a very few exceptions. the writing has been so good and I have not had any difficulty understanding motivations and I appreciate that you often let us interpret our own. This was just not possible with this, though. Rhaenys' character is so all over the place. Perhaps these kind of setups will be better in the future. I'm looking forward to a killer finale. Clare, it was beautifully directed, and I am glad you are returning next season.

Ok so I'm really loving this show its fantastic having fun in westros again especially after the disaster of the last seasons of GOT and your doing a great job but I feel it important to give constructive criticism, this scene didn't work for me it felt like you turned her into a phyco who just killed like 500 people and didn't end the war when she had the chance even tho she just showed her willingness to kill people, it felt like spectacle for the sake of it, So here's my alternative suggestion on what you should have done instead, while ageon is soaking in the glory intercut it with rhaenys going down to her dragon putting on her armour, unchaining and mounting meleys and escaping out the back door of the dragon pit and have meleys let out a roar that alerts the greens to her and have them become visually worried, similar big movement that doesn't put her character Into question

Yeah, at least based on only the show, books it's different. The worst part is the way the series, and even her own actress consider the scene to be cool and heroic, a great moment for Rhaenys instead of an atrocity.

Sometimes when you have an idea, and the only reason for it being there is that it's cool, and breaks all levels of logic and immersion... then maybe you can find somewhere else that cool scene might fit? There's a lot wrong with pacing, which is S8 level at times, and there's a lot wrong with choices. How did Larys 10men break into Harrenhal and burned all members, are there no guards? Why are we following two twins who we can't tell apart for almost a full episode when we only got one episode with adult Laena before she gets burned alive. White wyrm is the most random character Ive ever seen as well. Alicent believing Viserys meant Aegon II after hearing him call her Aemma in the last episode. He is clearly prone to confusion. Things like these small things really bother me. But don't me wrong, I am enjoying it. Though it has a lot of problems, it needs a better directing team in terms of writing. They literally have the reason for the dragon pit scene being they just wanting something epic, that's Marvel level thinking

Oh god please dont let Sarah Hess ruin the show. Get rid of her before the work on season 2 begins. Her 2 episodes are the worst of the 9 ones that are out. She doesnt understand how important the civilians are in George R. R. Martins world and how a ruler is looked upon considering the way he treats the cilvilians. There is also not much logic behind the Rhaenys scene. Sadly Migul Sapochnik says it himself that they only wrote and included this scene for the spectal and action. Sarah Hess also doesnt seem to understand the characters of Rhaenys and Daemon! These comments she made in some interviews ... horrible how you can be employed on shuch a fantastic show and than miss such important things or get them wrong. This episode in general gave me huge season 8 Game of thrones vibes, wich isnt a good thing

Rhaenys’s Mother was a Baratheon (Jocelyn Baratheon, Daughter of Rogar Baratheon through his wife Alyssa Velaryon, who was once wife and Queen to King Aenys I Targaryen before his death). Her Father was Aemon Targaryen, once Prince of Dragonstone, heir to the Iron Throne, son of Jaeherys I Targaryen, whose mother was also Alyssa Velaryon, and father Aenys I. This would make Rhaenys’s Father (Aemon) and her Mother (Jocelyn) half aunt and nephew.

This was the worst scene in the show so far. They literally threw logic out the window to have a visual spectacle moment. This is exactly the kind of writing that ruined the end of GoT. They made Rhaenys look like an immoral moron and a super hero at the same time. This was the 2nd scene in the show where I simply couldn't suspend my disbelief enough to enjoy it. First time was Daemon taking on an army by himself and not getting hurt at all.

It would have actually been better if Rhaenys came through the front entrance when Aegon was staring directly out at and waving his sword. It also would have made more sense as many people did die from that entrance and that is not Rhaenys intent to kill innocent people.
