My mum, myself and my sister travelled in South India in 2016. Nothing happened to us as we had good guides who told us blatantly what areas not to go to. The only thing I would note is that the Indians stare at you as they don't often see foreigners. Those Koreans clearly did not possess the brain cells to actually research about India, nor respect the culture. They had a clear agenda here and that was portraying India to be this poor, unsafe place. My dad recently went to India this year and he told me in regards to slums, that people live there not because they can't afford other places (the government has provided housing for them) but for investments. People need to understand that since India is a developing country, even the next couple of years would be completely different from a couple of years ago. I would say if you visited India in the 90s or 00s, it was probably unsafe, but things have changed in the present and will change in the years to come. The problem is, here in the West (I'm Australian) still likes portraying India to be this poor place. The only thing I learnt in school about India was the slums in Mumbai which clearly shows how biased the lens of the West has to India. I'd advise people to actually listen to the Indian women themselves whether India is safe or not. I also think it's important to acknowledge that the poorest states of India (UP, Bihar) are the states with majority of the population which is why the GDP per capita is still pretty low. If you visit South India, the North East or West of India, you will understand the difference.

@@HadassaMoon144 Happens in other countries, happens in South Korea as well. These things do not randomly get addressed by Manhwa authors, it is because these things actually happen in South Korea. Which is what they want to convey through literary media. There are Korean movies where they have shown how women trafficking takes place in Korea and their eggs are forcibly harvested by traffickers. Can you imagine how horrendous is that? But supposedly there is an excuse that only India is to be portrayed in bad light, only India has to take the blame and being shown negatively inspite of all the good things in India. Girl from India here 👋 I've not seen the video of what the girls have done, but based on your video- I can't say where they're at, saying that if they're in a city their clothes are normal as is the dancing (I dress the same in Mumbai, no one gives a shit), if they're in a remote village it is not normal wear and can be viewed as indecent. Indians stare at foreigners in general more out of fascination (just as I've seen videos of foreigners in Korea commenting on being stated at). I find it fascinating that India is seen as horribly unsafe to travel in the eastern world while in the western world it doesn't have such a "dangerous" image but infact is a saught after travel destination. I'm not saying crimes don't happen, they happen everywhere...I've been molested in Paris so 🤷🏽♀️ most Indians will always be extra helpful (sometimes annoyingly so) and will want to feed you their food and take you around. Though what I find more surprising is Danny and David's view kinda propagating the extreme -ve view of India. Thought they had a more balanced view of the world.

exactly- saying that bts could just leave and join another company- regardless of BTS’s current status, other companies wouldn’t acknowledge it and would treat them horribly, asserting that they think they’re superior or something. not to mention their wouldn’t be special rules given to them- I mean look how other kpop groups are compared to BTS, they don’t get the same freedoms and even BP are the second biggest but yet nothing compared to BTS, regardless of what people say. It’s even more naive bc just like David said- it includes the shareholders too. Just like Pledis and Sony? (whatever american company it is) are partners? (if that’s the correct word) with or are under hybe as well. so…that wouldn’t work. also politicians are attaching themselves to hybe and bts, as we can see, and we know how people get whenever they can no longer get what they want from you. if bts left hybe which is the sole reason why bts are able to be bts, politicians would lose their grasp on them and their would tarnish their image, probably talking negatively on them as well. hybe is the middle ground for connections w/ bts. i really just can’t see how Danny didn’t get it and how ridiculous he sounded tbh.

At first I thought maybe they wanted to shed light to bad but maybe they will show the modern India where we live too..unfortunately ig India for the K-vloggers and even the viewers is just slums and cheap(est) hotels, crowded sweaty cheap(est) train rides (which is for the people here who cant afford seats here), red light areas, bad street food and diarhhea.. Its fair enough to add these two dancing vloggers to the growing list of vloggers who cash out on India's poorer sections (and the added prejudice of India being a "R*pe capital".. expecting men to jump on them) :) P.s. I have to agree with David regarding the discussion around BTS and the military. Contrary to what many people think the more famous you are the more red tape...many aren't as free as you think. In cases where the celebrity also has political ties, and are used to prop up the Country like BTS, as well as having financial impact on the Country, I guarantee there is a lot of pressure, a lot of silencing, a lot of politics behind the scenes that keep these young men & other artist in their position from being able to be completely free! Jimin made reference to this during the last festa. Much of what David said made a lot of sense.

I'm not Korean, it's just my point of view from someone outside SK. It's insane how BTS military enlistment is like a boomerang. This topic is not new and getting out of control everytime someone brings it up. The worst thing is that no one wants to make any public statements, it's just hints. Yes, Hybe and korean government maybe agreed on something we don't know. However, in my opinion this is the main issue - not knowing what will happen. People are getting angry cause someone may be above the law, others say that BTS made already a big contribution to the country they should be able to get exception... Like at this point both sides are just fueling up themselves. It's not easy and as a non-korean I have no power to say what should be done. I'm just a little tired cause whenever BTS enlistment is brought up it creates more hate towards them.
@pennybleta97212 жыл бұрын
BTS was crystal clear on their stance since years ago. They clearly said they will go if they are called to do so. It's not their fault their country hasn't made up their mind if they are going to call them or not because they are afraid of the consequences which they got a glimpse of when BTS announced even a break and that whole misunderstanding happened. They saw the power they have over Korea's image and economy to the rest of the world. BTS singlehandedly put your country in the map. Enough said.

09.02 Update) The ministry of defense has come out to clarify that they will not base the decision on whether to exempt BTS on a national poll, and it's purpose is to simply hear the public's opinion on the matter. I know Korea has big brands and has a great movie industry, but most people don't care/know where brands are from and don't want to watch tv in foreign languages, this all changed with the popularization of Korean culture which i believe it had only happened with japanese culture before, and I dare to say this increase of interest is thanks to BTS for most people. I don't think ever in my life in central America people had mentioned Korea before the BTS phenomenon started. Let idols date. Who cares? The entire parasocial relationship the Idol industry is built upon should honestly be demolished... Or at least changed in drastic ways. Ways that would protect the idol's privacy and mental health and, doing so also protect the fans' mental health. Delusional fans' should be dealt with quickly. Ban them from events, and share their information with other companies so they know to be wary. That's the only way you'll get the majority to stop. And when it comes to BTS's military service, why not just make them do public service? The military is already hell to most idols with people not treating them like fellow humans, I can't even begin to imagine what it would be to bts. I don't think they should be treated differently because they are global superstars, but because their safety might be at risk. At the end of the day BTS are just humans, like anyone else. OR debut idols AFTER military service. No underaged idols and no drama with military service coming in the way of promoting. Everyone wins

I'm honestly F***ing tired of these Media's nd how they constantly spread stereotypes about my country. Ik we have our own problems but we don't hesitate to talk about them unlike other countries who always sugarcoat things. If you see Indian Media's they constantly report the problems and issues happening in our country instead of hiding them like most of the developed countries. We're proud of who we're today after suffering so much from British colonial rule. our ancestors have suffered a lot... British literally took everything from us. They stole 45 trillion dollars from India. It was drained and dividend but desperate to stand up on its own. Ofc the journey wasn't easy. the thumbs of Indian weaver were cutoff by the Britishers. There was a time when ppl use to sell gold and diamonds on road in our country, it's that rich. When we threw British out of our country (1947) our literacy rate was just 16%. Over the years, India has changed socially, economically, and globally. After the 2011 census, literacy rate India 2011 was found to be 74.04%. There were also security issues like in 1948 Pakistan's incursion into Kashmir, 1962 war with china, 1999 war in Kargil, but on Every such occasions India showed the world it can defend itself. India is socially diverse. 22 languages, 20,000 dialects numerous religion yet United. Which country doesn't have patches? Which country can claim to this diverse ? In 1947 average life expectancy of India was just 32years , in 1947 India registered 75 million cases of malaria it's total population was 330 million so almost 23% of the population was affected by it. By 1964 the numbers came down. There was also polio, india fought polio nd declared polio free by 2014. We also fought small pox. India is running the world's largest vaccination program. Today india is called the WORLD'S PHARMACY as it exports medicines to 200 countries nd region. India decided to go to space just after 17 years of independence. Today india is a well established space power nd reached Mars in its first attempt that no other countries has done. India was the first country to outside the permanent UNSC members to test a nuclear bomb. From the very first year of independence, everyy Indian adults have the right to vote nd for reference it took US 150 years to adopt universal adult franchise. In India the sanctity of elections had never been compromised. They're chaotic, yes there're controversies but they're held without fail. All of them excersize their rights. Nd that's the thing about India's story, it's far away from perfect, there's corruption, there's insufficiency, everything we keep complaining yet India's democracy has delivered, it ha alleviated poverty, built world class infrastructure, sent Indians to spaces to win gold medals, beauty pageant nd to lead world's biggest companies. In 1947 India had only 28 medical college , 4 dental college, nd 33 engineering colleges but look at the numbers now. The India that could neither write nor read is now the World's biggest talent pool. Top engineers, doctors, Indian origin CEO'S. India is the world's youngest population, the world's largest democracy, film industry, 2nd largest Road network. A MARKET THAT EVERY COUNTRY WANTS TO ENTER ND A NATION THAT EVERY COUNTRY WANTS TO PARTNER. ISN'T MY INDIA GREAT? I CAN GIVE MUCH MORE EXAMPLES. I'M PROUD OF MY MOTHER INDIA 🇮🇳

Can anyone please let me now why Koreans hate Indians so much? I have seen many YT videos where Koreans commented racist remarks about Indians. Also there are many Indians who had faced racism while traveling to South Korea because of their skin color. I know very few Koreans know about India. But does that mean whatever place or culture you don't know are bad and unsafe to travel? While traveling anywhere on earth one should keep safety in mind. Never mind, Danny & David should visit India & taste Indian culture, warmth & hospitability. One visit is not enough. Its not a small country like South Korea. To know it better couple of visits are required.

I think the main reason idols shouldn't do enlistment at all is because they get harassed worse than anyone in the military. They get photographed without consent in secret, harassed in the showers, asked evasive questions. It's vile, and regular people already get hazed and bullied in the military, but idols even more so because they're public figures

Yes but remeber idols are not the only persons who get harassed but other males who are not even popular sadly faced thoose situation too.

That is what I worry about and why I think they should all go in together. These young men are just too sweet and good to be harrased and bullied.

I agree.

@@SandraHoyt there's no guarantee even if they enlist at the same time that they will serve in the same unit or brach of government.

Still not a valid reason. Theyll probably evade their privacy but for famous celebs i doubt theyll be bullied. I suggest they let them use a different bathroom to avoid being photographed.

Just a thought, but isn’t the reason people having kids declining because of the state of the economy and them not being able to afford kids? Wouldn’t that mean anyone who is helping the economy (such as BTS) will help make it so that companies can start being able to pay their employees more, which in turn will make people more likely to be able to start families? If they are taken away from the public and taken away from drawing people to SK, wouldn’t that cause an economic setback? It seems like them having to go away to the military would hurt the economy, but 🤷🏼♀️.

honestly i hope they go and the government that’s just using them realizes how fucked of a decision it was… the fact that neither HYBE nor BTS have ever spoken about an exemption but their names keep coming up… i bet they’re tired cause i definitely would be, this is slowly becoming a lose-lose situation where the government will just suffer either way, but sometimes one has to learn the hard way. I’m just sad that all the discourse is for their own gain (but i get it it’s politics) and none of it is focusing on what the actual PEOPLE they keep discussing think/ want/ feel…
@em55222 жыл бұрын
@riri yeah, it already sounds like a lose-lose bc let's say they go now or however they want, then that means they just stepped on the toes of these politicians who have already shown they're willing to go through BTS's family to get what they want.

@@em5522 exactlyy they don’t care about them, just about what BTS does for them (and again they’re politicians nothing surprising but it’s still sad) honestly i’m so petty that if it was me (and if it was as easy) i’d wait for the to give me the exception only to then say that i want to go lmao

Ugh. It was in 2018 when high ranking officials of the companies SM, YG JYP, FNC, JELLYFISH and KMA held a meeting to discuss about enlistment period and alternative military services of Popular Culture Artists. As per media Hybe did not attend that meeting. Yet, BTS was used as an example by the other companies to show the impact the group and thereby the industry has on the country, due to its economic and soft power. Now it's just become a political shitshow, with many just throwing them around like puppets and never coming to a conclusion. Am not korean so I don't have a say on this. But all I wish is people don't play around the bush. Like the fact that it's reached a point where its become a poll boggles my head. Just be decisive. Already so much irreversible damage has been done to the group.
