Netflix tanked the semifinals by making it more interesting than the final challenge - which was just to make 1 measly dish. So much hype for semifinals and made us all root for Chef Edward Lee and then came down to naught 😅😅 Netflix should learn from proper cooking survival shows. Heck, they could even learn Even Hell’s Kitchen which is on Netflix. It has an impressive final challenge where they had to run a restaurant. The final was a let down.

I had one complaint. During the team mission where they opened their restaurant. They didn't have to do the ''outcast'' team dirty like that. Yea it gave somewhat of an entertainment value as they created an underdog, but it still left a sour taste in my mouth.

Let's be honest and real it's not the best cooking show , I personally have seen so many cooking show and it has some downs and some unfair points , starting from the early face off between the white and black spoon that I found it too early and most of the results were like obvious so many talented black spoon chefs didn't had the chance to showcase their talent, 2nd as the previous person said the restaurant team challenge had a huge disadvantage for the 4th team which was not fair for them , finally the last match wasn't that wow it's the final after all but they've had one match , compared to the semi final which was more intense and a big remarque that I found in some levels they had to eliminate huge number of contestants just to have less episodes I guess which found it brutal specially the semi final I think they've at least made 4 and after 2and the finals

Wished Chef Edward won that competition, but he went for his passion than truly winning the competition...

@orxihui but it's clearly Natpoli dish will be easily perfected. Compared to Chef Edward's Tteok-bokki gastronomy attempt. We are talking about the risk taken by each of them. Chef Edward kept mentioning that he's going to show Korean side of him which is not necessary, he could have create something much closer to him such as Louisville / US signature dish instead
@ThomasLC19 күн бұрын
@@vahnseymour150 Honestly you have to realize Chef Edward Lee's main priority wasn't to win, but to bring out his korean heritage. So the teokbokki dessert he made, while hits all of that, if we objectively look at it on the flawless italian "appetiser + entree" combo. The italian dish would've won. No doubt if Chef Edward wanted to "win" him chosing a winning dish would be absolutely no problem at all, but that is not his intention and I think we need to respect that. Yes, the teokbokki dish is creative and has good storytelling, but if you say that immediately deserves to win over a flawless dish that matfia took 10+ years to master, then you are not being fair to cooking as an art.

It’s hard for a dessert to fight against a full-body main course that has so much more flavours. It was a slight miscalculation on Chef Edward’s part 😢 just like Chef Choi’s oversight with the garlic and tofu challenge. Maybe Chef Edward got the inspiration from his dessert tofu creme brule that won the tofu semifinal round. But the setting was different. It’s now 1 dish vs 1 dish for the final and not the last dish unlike the semi finals.

Okay, I finally like Napoli Matfia now. He seemed so full of himself on the show, but it was nice to see him show respect and appreciation for Chef Edward Kyun Lee here.

Chef Edward Lee & Triple Star 🤩🙌
@chimchana563125 күн бұрын
Triple star was honestly so talented i was so impressed how he did manage to create new dishes specially in the semi finals, and I can't lie the semi final was like the face off of genius chefs between Edward lee / triple star and chef jung ji sun i forgot his name 😅 i was like wooow
@dixonyamada696929 күн бұрын
great show :). if there is a next season, the grand finale should be a three-round challenge. appetizer, entree, dessert. i think that would really push the chefs to their maximum potential and would get rid of any argument that the tofu challenge was harder (even though it probably was).

i love watching cooking competition reality shows. ive watched them for like decades. and this is clearly the best one ive seen. im excited about season 2. but i dont think it can compare to season 1. how can you get a cast like that again. they already took the best ones lol.

New goal unleashed: go try their food at their restaurants!

Don't try it right now because they are fully booked on reservations (if you live abroad and planning to visit Korea just for that). Maybe try in a year or two.

I'm deeply saddened but the fact that everyone is rooting and praising edward lee or triple star, and hardly nobody is recognizing the talent and skill of napoli matfia. You guys don't realize that the dishes he worked were so perfect that he advances to next round scoring so high so easily beating like 7 people dishes easily. Chef ahn gave him 90 or 9 point to his dishes that he didn't gave scores like that to anyone else even the white spoon chef. He said that his dishes were excellent and at level of the dishes he makes himself. So, you can imagine the food he prepare must taste so so good. Even you might choose him as the true winner that he is, if you tasted his food.

I believe Chef Edward Lee is the true winner. It seems both unfair and unusual that a foreigner, regardless of their Korean heritage, who does not live in Korea, cannot win-in other words, would not win. They can’t even be fair when everyone is Korean, because other factors come into play. Jam Republic in *Street Woman Fighter 2* wasn’t going to win no matter what. I’m disappointed.

to be honest, I'm not sure how Chef Matfia would have done if he were in the Tofu hell challenge. Don't get me wrong I think he is super talented, but I feel his Italian style might not have done as well if he needed to do that challenge.
@abouttime256926 күн бұрын
@@CinaSung Doesn't really matter because he won the first round. Why are people judging based on stuff a contestant didn't need to go through?

At last I was rooting for Edward Lee Chef from all my heart and soul ..but my senses were screaming Napoli mafia chef ... Personally I thought I would have to skip the last ep because I can't watch Edward Lee 's creativity loose but ooh my god I think this show gave me a perspective through cooking . I would watch this show before any kdrama 😂❤❤
