I've read that "You'll Never Walk Alone" was the phrase used during the ferry tragedy. Jimin picking up shoes by the sea and hanging them could be in honor of the ferry victims. Just a thought.

the scariest part is Tae lying his head on the track. and you could hear the train and see the train light reflected in his eyes. I was screaming nooo! dont give up! Idk about everyone else but it's like they're saying even if you feel like your heart is in winter (frozen over, feeling helpless, suffering alone through hardships) there will be a spring time. I can feel this song helping to lift my mood even through times when I want to give up. Like they said "the morning will come again, no darkness no season can't last forever". Share your thoughts! jhope was harmonizing with his deep voice with the higher voices in the vocal line. jhope has a wonderful singing voice zomg. if you listen carefully, that deep undertone when kookie v and jimin sings is actually jhope. and for those that are salty about how he doesn't stand out in the song, put on your ears or clean them out. he is in there. the layering of vocals in this song is amazing!

People who jump from bridges usually leave their shoes on the bridge, so now its a thing... nobody jumps with their shoes on... Its in stores and stuff that its rude to pass into the next life with shoes because your feet is the bottom of the body, and when you die, your feet should meet the ground for the soul to be able to return to nature and be reborn. (I belive atleast, that is what I heard is the reason for leaving shoes) so now its become a thing some do that become a symbol, people that plan to jump infront of trains or jump off bridges or anything else outside will leave their shoes stacked neatly on the sideline.... and as that also has some weight, sometimes the letter is left inside the shoe with their last goodbyes. And sometimes people will lave the shoes, not necessarily at the same spot, but nearby.. like in a tree, in memery of the person who passed away there

I believe the general consensus is that this song was written about the Sewol Ferry disaster. All of the clothes represent the clothes that washed up on the beach afterwards, the hanging shoes represent death, the lyrics about being together - the students who were drowned apparently tied themselves together by their clothes so that they would at least all be found instead of wasting away in the water. Speculation, I'm not claiming fact, but personally that's how I take it

JOchoa thnx for your reaction, BTS spring Day is about the Sewoul tragedy when a boatload of middle school students drowned when the captain ordered them not to move from their place. A lot of the children drowned but the captain & other staff fled and escaped. So BTS members represent those who have survived. Sad true tragedy. BTS donated $ 100 million to the families.

Btw-If you put your ear to the tracks you can hear an oncoming train. The shoes, if it symbolizes someone dying/leaving...the song is about a girl who left. Did you see - during the surprise party for rapmon - where is Jungkook? You can't see him, but there is this savage silly string heading right for rapmon! XD Bwahahaha! At 3:47 of the mv, as they come to the end of the passageway, the train goes by and Kookie on the train, sees them. Even though Kookie is with them too. What?
