Agree, liking Jimin is not about being ‘gay’, it’s about seeing something beautiful, that touches your heart, and appreciating it. If a man refuses to open their heart to appreciating that, because they think they’ll look ‘gay’, I feel pity for that man.

The hotel was named Omelas. That references a book that RM read. It’s about a happy society thriving, but all of that is because of the suffering of a child, a sacrifice that is happening. The pile of clothes is similar to a performance art piece where the clothes all belong to people who have died. Jimin was holding shoes, in some cultures people leave the shoes of people who die. The yellow ribbons, in Korea signified protests for student deaths at one point. The Snowpiercer reference is a great movie about social class abuse on a train. All of these things were purposefully put in the video and not speculation on the part of fans. I personally think this was BTS’s way of speaking about things they couldn’t openly talk about because of political things that were happening and it would have been censored. Tks guys. Please watch the explanation video by Italian ARMY. It is far superior to the shorter one. You couldn’t have known (unless you’d paid attention to the lyrics on screen), but a lot of this reaction felt a bit off given the theme of the song of missing friends, and the references in the video to a huge tragedy in Korea.

💔The corrupt president of Korea at that time of the Sewol Ferry disaster in 2014 (which this song “Spring Day”, is referring to). was taking payola from many huge corporations. In the case of this ferry it also was illegally used as a cargo ship carrying 1,000's of tons more of cargo than it was supposed to plus in dire need of repair. All this was overlooked and that was part of the coverup. Talking about this incident could get you blacklisted so that was one of the reasons RM did not want to explicitly talk about what exactly the song was about! The song was written, several years after the incident. Since the songs release that president actually finally got impeached! The Sewol Tragedy was one of the reasons and sort of the beginning of the end for her! She was actually impeached ironically about the same time that Trump became president! So in Korea now things are changing now with first their new President Moon Jae In at the time, who actually supports BTS and what they are doing and the causes they represent! Now there is another new President Joon. There are even more symbolic associations connected with the Sewol Tragedy in the song then mentioned! BTS donated money to the grieving families and their charities even before the song came out but like other times when they give donations or charity they try to keep it quiet but the media inevitably finds out anyway. Also concerning songs RM Also likes to not be 100% explicit in what they're about so to leave it to what each individual believes it to be! Just like all art is in the interpretation of the individual as well! As for Spring Day it could just be about loss or just missing someone if that works best for the individual listening to it! Also even the choreography has everything to do with the sinking of the ferry like when the members form the bow of the ship while the rest is sunk. It's the part when Tae/V is moving away from the rest and sings your my best friend. They also are continually dancing to and fro back and forth like they were on a ship capsizing that the waves are making go back and forth. They are also wearing billowing shirts that almost look like sails of a ship or also waves! Jimin, is reaching out like trying to be saved or comforted. Most of their choreography from other songs as well are usually connected to what their songs are about! 🙏💔🥺😢😔

This was a very political song when it came out, and nearly got BTS blacklisted by the government at the time. Since it came out (about 6years ago?) it has never left the Korean music charts. In the video they make a lot of symbolic references to the Sewol ferry disaster, this ferry sank, there were a lot of high school students on a school trip, I think about 200-300 of these students died. The disaster was ultimately caused by government corruption, the government also tried to cover it up during the investigation afterwards, plus the captain and crew fled the ship leaving the people on board to their fate. There’s a great video explaining the political situation, and the references in the MV, by an Italian Army (there are English subtitles). If you really want to understand the depth of this song, I suggest you watch it.

THIS video have the most special meaning and concept that all of their videos! The story behind it is based on the biggest tragedy in South Korea in recent years and honors both the victims and the survivors of the “Sewol Ferry tragedy” and the explanation of the details are heartbroken but beautiful. 💔 I hope that you wanna react to the Italian Army explanation video because I’m sure your appreciation for the song and the video it gonna be totally different after… Hugs from Panamá!

This MV is so full of symbolism and about the Seoul Ferry tragedy. Watch “The meaning behind the song “Spring Day” by the Italian Army, it is extremely emotional. Artist had to be very careful about protesting in any way including performing including BTS because they could be “Blacklisted” BTS and their company Big Hit privately donated money to the families of the victims.
