This song just makes me emotional...and it never changes. Initially, when it was released...everyone was a bit confused...BTS doesn't usually write love songs in a 'mainstream' sense...they are more philosophical...they deal with issues that are not cliche romantic stories....so there was a debate that this song could be about some bad breakup...heartbreak...but it was always unclear. Eventually, they did open up about it and, in a sense, it was about a break up...but it was about BTS potentially breaking up as a group...and it was about heartbreak of artists, in a way, being destroyed by their own dream. They really love what they do...they work so hard and most of the time, they work too hard to the point of exhaustion because they want to perfect their craft & they have set a really high standards for themselves...they always want to give us their best....so to know that they were close to giving it all up is truly heartbreaking....you can see and feel the intensity of that emotion as they perform that song.

Don't know if yall noticed it but listen to the pronunciation of tear in Rm's and suga's part For RM he uses tear as in the literal meaning of tear from eyes😢 For suga he uses TEAR meaning to rip apart as in the group was ripping apart its painful song but still very powerful and beautiful ❤😢you really have to understand it deeply and the lyrics every word has a different meaning with rapline they are genius 😇..

Tear - both meanings. They wrote this after they were not getting along and dealing with the hate and each other. They were seriously thinking about quitting. When they presented it to the rest of the members and they cried and grew closer together. This is really to each other. It's emotional because they were hurting emotionally
