For background information the song tear was written by the rap line for the members when they were thinking about disbanding. Suga stated “The lyrics for ‘Tear’ were written for the members. When I was writing the melody, at the time, we were deeply contemplating whether we should quit or not. When I played the song for the members, we all cried together.” They also use tear in different ways Rm says it meaning crying and sadness. Suga uses it as in things ripping / breaking apart. While Jhope talks about the fear of losing the members because he feels like he’s nothing without them.
