sorry guys. i think the reason why you can't choose is you don't want to have either fandom be mad at you. but if you really see & hear both groups without any biases, clearly EXO has way better vocals. for me, the best singer in BTS would be Jungkook. i feel like he has more stable vocals & his tone is also great. but in EXO, ALL of them are great vocalists. the main vocal line alone (Chen-Baekhyun-D.O.) are known as one of the best in kpop. other members regardless of their position can sing great as well. you can check out EXO amazing vocals if you haven't seen it yet. or better yet watch their live performances. their vocals are unreal

each group has unique vocals, but i swear Exo's vocal line is on another level. Same goes with other kpop boy groups like seventeen and nct. for me, exo is the powerhouse of vocals. D.O. has an r&b and agile voice, Chen has a powerful belting voice, and Baekhyun has a mixed falsetto/headvoice sound. AhhHHh!!!!

I am sorry but you can compare, Good vocal abilities are not preference, If someone is good vocalist then he/ she is a good vocalist, they work hard for it , trained years to gain those vocal abilities. Vocal tone can be preferable not techniques. EXO don't do falsetto high notes , they have powerful vocals and high techniques , they are extremely skilled as vocalists.

I agree, actually there are a lot of kpop artists who can do high notes.. but the technique and delivery is what makes it different. To be able to still use vibrato while hitting those really high note means quality and controlled vocals. So yes its not matter of perspective.. cause one can always be biased. Regardless of voice tone, its the quality of sound produced with this high notes in this video makes EXO superior.

I listened to BTS several times over the years and never connected. Don't know why (I don't hate them or their music), I just didn't connect. Last year I found EXO and have been entranced ever since. There is no comparison in vocal ability. The clarity of EXO's vocals is simply incredible and each member has that same incredible ability. They aren't just dancers, or just vocalists, or just visuals. All the members are all-rounders.

This story is really same as mine. I listened to BTS several times cause all of my friends are army. Last year I accidentally got to know EXO and fell in love with their vocals from the first listen. Then I realized I already have some of their songs on my playlist. I listened to those songs everyday without knowing about EXO cause I fell in love with their vocals. EXO vocals are really insane. Not to mention their visuals. That is why they are my one and only favorites in kpop.

I listened to Exo in 2013 without knowing that it was kpop, I tried to follow them but I was very small and did not understand how it worked (everything was in Korean). The difference is that for EXO it’s effortless. Their vocalists are naturally talented but they’re also properly trained. A singer shouldn’t need to strain to get most of their high notes out. Not only can it sound forced, it’s also not a sustainable way to use your voice over the long haul.

I fell for BTS initially, as my very first kpop experience, mainly for their music in general, the choreos, their stage presence, etc. I just loved them so much I thought no other group was better than them in any way. But then I started listening to EXO and realized: these were the vocals I had been looking for. Especially after this one song from BTS that I loved so much, Truth Untold, kinda disappointed me when I heard it live. They were clearly struggling somewhat with this accoustic song live. I still love BTS. These guys are great and super talented but EXO is just on a whole other level in terms of vocals, especially their live performances are insane. They often sound better live than on their recordings which is just sick.

The difference is soooo clear. No shade to BTS, their vocals improved so much over the years but still, they don't know how to properly use their strength. They're straining so much and it's unhealthy. I wish that they get a vocal coach that can teach them the healthy way of singing, they have unique voice taht can be developed. A 2022 BTS is still a no match to a 2012 Exo in terms of vocals. Exo is a powerhouse of vocals ever since their debut so imagine how strong they are today. They wouldn't be held as Vocal Kings for nothing. Not a fan vote nor media play but a known fact in Kpop. Over the years they keep on progressing and growing.

Do Kyungsoo is just incredible in every sense. He is one of the few vocalists who can make your heart flutter and cause a storm of emotions. Es cierto que soy EXO L y muy apasionada pero no soy extremista. Sigo de cerca la carrera de mis niños. Y por diferentes motivos he tenido que escuchar mucho kpop. Y de verdad todos son bueno y objetivamente y específicamente de este tema. Realmente EXO es mejor. Me ha tocado ver a BTS en conciertos y presentaciones pero no tiene punto de comparación en lo que hace EXO pues cada canción es única. Cada álbum de EXO es distinto y tiene un Historia detrás. Pueden decir de mil cosas pero ellos si aportan con su conocimiento y talento a cada producción de su música. Y además hasta se sabe que varios de ellos por no decir casi todos siguen aprendiendo constantemente. Aún tengan voces privilegiadas. Toman clases de canto o de cómo cuidar sus voces y diferentes técnicas. Porque uno nunca deja de aprender. Y como cada uno de ellos tiene diferentes matices que se hacen diferenciar. Y muy aparte de todo se armonizan de la maravilla. Ni que decir individualmente. Cada álbum de ellos es como un nuevo comienzo. No odio a BTS solo me disgusta que los pongan sobretodo de otros artistas. Porque hay muchos grupos muy buenos. Aparte de EXO. Y pienso que deberían de sobreponer y sobretodo atacar. Se que no todos son así. Hasta se que ellos se llevan muy bien.

It's not jus about hitting the notes it's also about the ease, the technique with which they hit the notes, and EXO has the ability to hit such high notes with that ease while using the best technique, you can see the other group also hitting the high notes but with a lot of tension which can be easily spotted in their body postures. Therefore EXO as a group and as soloist will be able to perform longer comfortably!!!! Hands down, EXO wins!!!

@@rengina484 that's dumb of him , I am sorry but everyone has an unique vocal tone , you just have to polish it to shine it and most importantly good vocal training can minimize vocal damages, most kpop group don't care abt their vocal cord , even SM too(excessive unnecessary high notes can damage artist's vocal cord), but singers who really love to sing find good vocal teacher so that they can sing for longer time(Baekhyun , Chanyoel, Suho they all still go to vocal teacher just to sing for longer time yet they still have unique tone)

@@Michelle-so5gi Yes, Baekhyun , Chen don't have longer training but that doesn't mean they weren't trained singer , they didn't had idol training (both boys are genius because both were so natural in their rookie era, )but Both used to sing in bands , had singing experience before becoming idol training and D.O too had singing experience.and all 3 are quick learners which is why are soo developed even before their debut.

The question should be - Could BTS sing EXO songs? Nope - they do not have the technical range/ability in particular the high notes sound as if they are straining. Think of the duet included in this battle sequence with Baekhyun and Chen, BTS would struggle. In comparison, EXO could easily cover BTS songs - probably better - when I think of EXO covering TVXQ Mirotic. Therefore BTS's songs like Dynamite, Butter, Fake Love etc. EXO could cover - live without a flicker. Hence they win the Vocal Battle. 😇 "PeaceOut"

No, EXO high notes are head voice, compared to BTS who mostly used falsetto for their high notes. By definition, men can’t use chest voice for high notes. But head voice is stronger than falsetto.

@Nanma Ann Anil I’ll put Chanyeol against the others but not JK because he has a wider vocal range. But I think Suho, Lay, Xiumin or even Kai could clear him. As a trained singer, I noticed that BTS were able to hit some notes that were higher than EXO’s because they used falsetto. But Chen and Baekhyun (all of EXO, really) use head voice for high notes, which is why it sounds more powerful. For K-pop vocals, EXO and BTOB are at the top of the industry. Forestella is even better vocally, but they aren’t technically K-pop, they’re classical/pop crossover.

I have come to realize that K-pop to me changed, I been listening to K-pop for the past 10 years and I have yet to hear a group with diversity in vocalist besides Exo the talents in that one group is insane. why is the top group in the industry have no vocal range but dominate in albums sales. I mean I want to hear runs,harmonies, soul,emotions, power when listening to music not just a good beat. I want to feel what they are trying to sing. It’s more than just visuals, dancing, production. Take away all that what does bts have truly…….. k-Pop now is about trendy catchy hooks,beats production,clothes, choreography, Voices that are mediocre back by autotune. Don’t get me started on how many groups emulate exo, bts. No group now is original. It’s all the same. Exo is the group many tried to emulate with their voices. So much more I want to say but I digress. No has surpassed them vocally since their debut.
