As an old Irish supporter: Samuel Whitelock is one of a very limited number of second-row forwards to be recorded as one of the finest of all time. He looked after the Black Jersey with the silver fern on very well indeed. Similar for Ian Jones, who's introduction to the World stage was from my era. Ian was the 'new-breed lock'. He was a pioneer, like Mike Jones, who understood that doing things perfectly, at great pace, whilst linking with the rest of the team was key. Rugby was about to go professional and punching and booting your opposition into submission would not win World Cups. Jones and Jones were 'lethal' exponants. Samuel Whitelock would link well with either man, imo. God bless New Zealand🏴☠☘

I don't know Sammy, if I am going to be honest, I first noticed it ages ago, and it did seem like you raised the leg to trip him up..

5 mins to go NZ were 10 points up, more than likely NZ would've still won even if Sam was red carded
