ZCatch is broken. Link has a bunch of set ups because of it and gets a lot of utility and versatility if you master alternating between Aerial Re-catch and Z Catch optimally and as mix ups It works because after the item hits your opponent it's technically in their possession. I think Link and Diddy benefit from it the most because though Banana as a projectile is technically in opponents possession it still lands as the throwers trap and Link's Bomb has the physics of a volley ball so he can ZCatch after it hits the opponent or bounces off the ground.

I don’t know what this matchup ACTUALLY is, but as a ken main whenever I come across a good Diddy in bracket it literally feels 7-3. I’m sure it isn’t, but it feels awful. Maaaaayyybe tatsu would of helped somewhat since he didn’t use it almost at all?
@therealchristianbale55092 жыл бұрын
I’ve played this matchup a lot as ken vs a friends diddy and yeah it’s a very tricky, difficult matchup for Ken. Diddy MUST feel constantly pressured for this I feel, but it’s very challenging to consistently do that safely as Ken. Otherwise this match’s gameplay happens and Ken is constantly fighting an uphill battle even in neutral thx to a free banana

@turntech47762 жыл бұрын
@@ellachino4799 yeah I know, but if he’s playing around kens normal movement options the entire time then mixing in a tatsu every now and again would constrain his movements that tiny bit more and make him factor in more possibilities? Or maybe Diddy just gets to ignore that idk

Jahzz0 needed to be more aggressive as ken to pressure Diddy more. the play style he was playing would have been fine for almost everyone else. Playing out of shield is fine and effective but doesn't really work on other patient players.

@DavidSumner2 жыл бұрын
@@xKingxTitus your comment is dumb AF. I wasn't putting jahzzo down i was just stating the obvious. Ken plays best when he knocking on your shield and forcing the opponent to do panic options. Twerk plays patient and waits for you to react. Similar to jahzzo's style. Problem is Diddy plays that game better then Ken. If you think just because someone got invited to an invitational makes them a superior player or smarter when it comes to the game you're on some wild shit. Again I'm not knocking Jahzzo in any way just saying he would have faired better if you was a bit more aggressive.

I think the 33rd at genesis is what started it. But I think he got discouraged from that and thought the diddy isn’t worth the work. Since then he started focusing more on seph and then aegis. Thank god he’s back to the monkey and added the pt back.

But of course Diddy looks great against fighting game characters and good matchups, Tweek has never stopped using him against those. The problem is with other characters, and its why he's still trying to find the best choice.

One of my favorite sets to watch as a diddy main. Tweek curb stompin. You can see in game 2 how he starts to not go for optimal stuff. He gets a banana trip at around 6:35 and could've d tilt up smash for the kill (possibly) but instead went for down air and then immediately monkey flip grab JUMP which is beyond useless. First of all, I just want to say it isn't xactly easy to land the grab hitbox when you're both in mid air. Just wow.

If there were no tie breakers, how did this set determine 1st or 4th in this pool? That means 3rd and 4th are both 1-2 and 1st and 2nd are both 2-1. Very confused

No, there was no tiebreaker. H2H was the "tiebreaker" here. Tweek and Sparg0 went 2-1, Tweek beat Sparg0 in bracket, thus Tweek 1st Sparg0 2nd. Jahzzo and Gluto went 1-2, Jahzzo beat Gluto in bracket, thus Jahzzo 3rd Gluto 4th

1. Whenever Tweek is playing against someone he's clearly better than, you can almost see the point where he relaxes and just starts having a TON of fun playing the game. That's honestly the scariest Tweek. 2. Watching somebody try to out-fundamental Tweek is hilarious. Get in there and get your cheese set up or get bodied (unless you're Leo). Tweek is way too good for bait-and-punish. 3. Today Jahzz0 learned one of competitive Smash's most important lessons: One or two wins on a top player does NOT mean you're a top player. Keep grinding!

Jahzz0 is also playing a losing matchup which certainly doesn't help, and why are you speaking so condescendingly to someone who's clearly proved that they're top player material? Acting as if you've been in the position of taking sets off of top 10 players
@BryGuyJohn2 жыл бұрын
@@wyventhemage Just analysis and commentary. Whether or not someone reads it as "condescending" is honestly up to them. I don't care either way. Nobody needs to be a top player to know the game well enough to do that (as virtually every Ultimate commentator or coach will tell you). I've been playing Smash longer than most of these guys have been alive. Also I don't believe Jahzz0 has proven that yet. We've watched MANY a player who clearly aren't top players take a set or two off of some of the best (Onin 3-0'd Leo like 2-3 tourneys ago). GOOD/GREAT players can always flash every now and then. TOP players are marked by their consistency.
