Good video. Used it to install mine. But if you didn't get the Accessorides start WITH the phone app option, there's no harness going to the driver's side. Just pass side, then program.

Solid install video! Just ordered mine for our 2024 ORP. Still hard to believe that Toyota doesn't have remote start as standard...can't think of the last vehicle we've owned that didn't have remote start.- New subscriber by the way...also here in NC. I do more firearm related videos on my channel, but hope to do some more vehicle stuff with the new 4Runner and our Raptor.

@@BtwilliasGarage yea man, I’m glad to have the 4Runner… it’s not as flashy as a lot of newer stuff, but hoping to keep it for the long haul. I have thoughts about doing an impressions video from someone who’s owned multiple Raptors which in my opinion are on the higher end of the off-road spectrum. There’s already a ton of reasons to go with a 4Runner. Saw you commented on one of my videos… very much appreciated!

Great video. Thank you for doing this! Just bought a 2024 4R off road premium with MtM - I read a different review that said it messes with the backup camera features. Do you know if it has been updated? Also- do you know if this voids MFG warranty?

Check your wiring harness before install! I ordered mine with the long range remote option and they sent me the standard wiring harness. Didn’t figure that out till I had everything apart.

Turns out there was just an error in the instructions in the kit I was sent that said the 30 pin connector comes with the long range transmitter kit, when it actually only comes with the phone app version. Anyway I got the rest of it hooked up and programmed and it’s working 🎉🎉

If you have keyless pts. Do you have to manually push the unlock button when the 4runner is on and you're walking up to it? Or does the fob still unlock it automatically, touch free ? 2nd question.. Can anyone get in and drive off once it's on?

Correct, the keyless entry still works just like it does before installing the kit. No, no one can get in and drive off, not unless they have the key. The engine will simply shut off when the brake is press to attempt to put it in gear if the key is not in the SUV

Unfortunately you have to uninstall the current and reinstall the new. I would list the old on FB marketplace and try to get a few bucks back

Do you have to hold the brake for 3 seconds every time after remote start? Or is it just for first time installation?

The instructions say 3 seconds every time, but we tested it and it's not that long. Say 1.6 seconds. Enough time to put it in drive and check your surroundings before taking off. It's not an awkward amount of time if that makes sense

I do not think it would work with the Toyota app, but they sell a version that comes with an app that would work similarly. The standard versus just uses the key, but you can see the premium add ons on their website that's linked in this video description

The kits on the website for the 4Runner still specifically say that the truck will shut down when door is opened. Do you know if it's a matter of this kit not being on the accessoride site yet or have they not updated the description?

I installed mine 2 years ago from the same company, wonder if they have an updated harness for the "not shutting off" part. it's not that bad, car is warmed up and windows are clear.. engine warm so 2nd start doesn't tax the battery.. but slightly annoying yup. Stil a lot freakin' better than no remote start up in the northeast !

This kit will not work on a 2019 unfortunately. It has different wiring than the 2020+. However, comments like yours put the year on Accessorides radar for development. Hopefully one day!

Do we know how long it will stay running with the remote start? Hopefully atleast 1 hour before auto shutting off. One of the last grievances I have after this is I can’t touch the door handle to lock the truck with it running.

On my personal 4Runner with the kit (G key not Push to Start) it appears the timer is 10 or 15 mins. I imagine it is the same with the new kit, but I do not have access to it anymore. The guy drove 2.5 hour round trip for the install

One hour would just be wasting gas at some point, no? I think 15 mins or so is perfect for auto cut off personally

@@BtwilliasGarage no, 30min even doesn’t warm up the truck, and plus what does it matter? Start and go it may not even be running long, but in Canada we need longer run times, somtimes we don’t even turn them off. It’s not uncommon to leave some trucks idling all night they never turn off.
