Did nearly 1000 kms on this in 2 months... perfect bike... I was so skeptical about the folding aspect, however this bike surprised me with all the aspects I was worried about..it runs just like a big bike..it can be slightly tough climbing steep slopes compared to big bikes, everything else is superrrree Unfolding takes literally 10 seconds Folding takes approx 30 seconds... for me
@EatCycleRepeat3 жыл бұрын
Thats incredible man! 1000km's is an awesome achievement. We really didn't know what to expect given the price of the bike but it really is solid and durable and goes quicker than you think it will. Unfolding and folding is exactly as you say, easy when you've done it a few times. We really like this bike and look forward to many adventures on it.

Hilariously the 2 bikes you've reviewed, are the 2 exactly I own, down to the colour! I've had this foldable bike (Lewis Cafoldy), since September 2019, and have ridden over a thousand kms on it. Have done way more kms than a commuter bike should, and it's lasted so long. The acceleration on this guy is amazing - if feels like a really nice ride. Perfect for a run around bike and honestly, 25+ km cycles, consistently won't be too much for it. Make sure to service it maybe 6 months in, keep an ear out for sounds or wear and tear, chain lubricant (like £5 ) worth the investment and you'll get a heap out of this bike.

Wow! Thats spooky! Haha. That's amazing to hear that the foldy is so durable. It does feel like a plucky little bike that we would love to tour somewhere like Belgium or The Netherlands on. We'll definitely do the service on it and keep it maintained, we've been really impressed so far.

When it first came out. Dint like the design as it looked very futuristic and modern making me think that it might not look as nice after few years, but since I found out that it’s made of hi ten steel frame ( which Iam a massive fan ) I started to accept it and really thinking of buying especially its from a local shop not online. Dig it and yes to steel frame bikes

I saw a video in which a lady packs the brompton in ikea dimpa bag,I wonder if this is bigger folded or the same 🤔
@kanikasingh8893 жыл бұрын
Here in India, a brompton is very very expensive...so thinking of this,Btwin are good bikes just want to make sure its nice and compact,of course it can beat the brompton anyways but atleast in budget and solves the purpose. Please share if its a good buy 🙂

It does well on various terrains so I think its a good purchase overall, just needs a bit of attention here and there.

how does the front light work (the one integrated into the frame, if that is in fact a light)? is it powered by the wheels? is it rechargeable? or does it require batteries?
@EatCycleRepeat2 жыл бұрын
It requires batteries I believe.
@stephenc66482 жыл бұрын
The thing that looks like a front light is just a reflector. I think Decathlon sell lights that fit but I haven't investigated. The lights that come with the bike look like pound shop specials.

Thanks, but, how do they compare to a Brompton? It's a fraction of the price of a new Brompton, but, is it also a fraction of the (Brompton) bike too?

How has the bicycle been so far? Is more bigger than brompton?
@EatCycleRepeat3 жыл бұрын
It's been ok for 3-5 mile journeys but finding it needs a good lube up on the chain quite often and the gears can be a little temperamental. I think its bigger than the brompton when folded.
@bonzobanana14 жыл бұрын
Only thing I can see as a bit of a negative is the lack of height adjustment for the handlebars so this will limit the range of people who can use the bike but I guess some may not mind having high handlebars but its not a ideal bike fit. What is the weight limit on the bike? I know it used to be 100kg total load so leaves about 85kg for the rider but wondered if it had changed. A lot of folding bikes have disappeared from retailers in recent times, Argos did a brilliant model for £150 but I'm not sure if there has been any stock for a while, a Cross model I think. Decent aluminium frame, Shimano components and height adjustable handlebars but generally prices have shot up at other retailers with pandemic pricing.
@EatCycleRepeat4 жыл бұрын
That’s true and Boardmans sizing does lean towards the taller rider. Perfect for me but others could find this an issue.

Not been out on it all that much but the puncture proofing has been fine so far. They are quite thick, robust tyres so can withstand heavy usage I would say. They have stayed pumped up so far too.

@stephenc66482 жыл бұрын
I had a puncture the second time I used mine. To be fair, it was caused by a huge thorn which needed pliers to remove. I took the opportunity to replace the inner tube with one of Decathlon's own slime-filled ones.
