BTZ- What you need to know

Hey everyone, I recently was selected as a Senior Airman Below-the-Zone winner for my squadron, which was a very humbling experience that culminated from a lot of hard work. This is just a very brief overview of BTZ, and what all it entails. Let me know if you any questions, as well as any more specific videos you’d like me to make!

I won BTZ for my squadron back in 1979, resulting in an early promotion to E-4 (Senior Airman). That allowed me to make E-5 (Staff Sergeant) in about 3.5 years time in service. I left the Air Force in 4.5 years by extending my 4 year enlistment by 6 months. I have no regrets about my time in the Air Force. It was a great experience. The Air Force treated me well and taught me a lot. I got out to leverage my AF training (8 month tech school) in the civilian world. In hind sight, I made the right choice.
