It's so hard to tell with 18 year olds. Sometimes they have freak athleticism and it's easier to project how they will do in the league. Sometimes it's so tricky because they are not full grown. Guys like Bub might grow much stronger. I know I did. I have a good gut feeling about him overall though.

@@FloorandCeiling Wizards Twitter is high on Bub. The criticisms are echoed on there as well regarding his game but kid is only 18. It’s hard to know for sure how he will end up but worth the gamble imho

Pretty good take on Bub. Not sure if you knew this but Bub was a 6'1" high senior who grew the summer before he arrived at Pitt. He also never played the 1 in high school.

Not before the draft, but maybe depending on how he does in Summer League and who drafts him. I think I'm lower on him than most, though (mid/late second rounder imo). Thanks for watching!

Carrington is a kid who generates quite a few doubts in my mind. As of today he lacks body, good left-handedness, reliable outside shooting mechanics, better defensive ability and better decision making. In other words, almost everything. He's actually closer to being a good high school senior than an NBA player. At the moment his only virtues are speed (on offense and defense) and some passing ability to interior players. IMO he is a second round pick that is going to need a lot of time and improvement in the GLeague.

I think Bub is good at some important things, namely self-creation as a jump shooter, handling the ball for an 18 y/o, and making some decisions in the pick-and-roll. I also think he fights hard on both ends and he wants to win. But I also think he has some pretty big limitations, especially with versatility. He can't play off the ball on offense. He can't switch on defense or maybe even guard anyone on defense for the next few years. He also can't attack the paint or finish. All of those things are just as important.
