Two questions...1) Could you skip the step of putting the plain popcorn on the baking sheet in the oven? 2) Could you skip the step of putting it in the oven again at the end? It seems like a pretty typical candy covering that would harden if it cools, but I'm not sure if that's true. Fun idea!

+xoxo cooks Thanks Adrienne. You could skip the step of putting he popcorn on the baking sheet but I found by doing this helps me measure the exact amount I need to cover a thin layer across it. As far as the candy coating being left to set without baking, I left some aside and they didn't harden up enough on their own. They were sticky to the touch and the popcorn tasted a bit soggy. I am sure you could heat up the candy coating a bit longer to the hard crack temperature and that might help. I only heated the candy to a soft crack stage. Hope this helps Adrienne. They were good and the bubble gum flavor was very strong.
