The Mountain Dew flavor is not very strong but you can taste a bit of it. I made it into a syrup first because I find it to hold the flavor best.

What's the point of making the syrup and candy coating separately if you're going to combine them in the end?

Apparently you don't cook... or bake rather... The first one is a Syrup... very thick... Mt. Dew. TASTE. The second one is the Candy Coating... making more of it to go further... The syrup it very strong... it would be too strong if you made it to where you could coat all of the popcorn... 1 + 1 = 2 ...

If you want it crispier, continue to bake it...take it out every 10 minutes and turn the popcorn for a total of 30 to 45 minutes. After 30 minutes, the popcorn should be getting a kind of crispy sound, if you think it's not quite there yet try another 10 min or so and take it out. Be carful not to let your popcorn start to brown or burn...keep an eye on it! If you're impatient and don't want to let it set naturally out on the counter, put the popcorn in the frig for about 10 minutes to set. The extra baking time will make it crunchy instead of chewy. It's your choice on how you like your popcorn...enjoy!
