Decided it was time to put the old girl to work, Grossing 98,000 lbs and handled it well. little rusty on the sticks, first time pulling a load other than off the field. Definitely a fun drive hope to do more with it soon.

I can run a 6+4. Being 35, I bet there are not more than 10k operators in North America that run a twin stick or know how to run a twin stick. The rest have been spoiled with 8ll, 9, 10, 13 and 18 speeds.

I have not driven a truck since the mid 1980's. It is a beautiful thing to see you drive it. I so much miss it! (my Freightliner was a Roadranger 13 speed) Almost makes me cry how much I love it. Things have changed so much in the past 30-40 years.

Damn i want to get my silver 8v92 to run of ethanol and use castor 927 maxima oil. Some of the oil can be pulled off and blended with a mixing valve and more dumped in as it burns down for total loss. Ethanol is 113 octane and would need a glow plug like did with the ethanol 6v92 and 8v92 experiment line hall trucks.

Thirty years ago I drove a Mack twin stick Mack after driving a 10 and 13 speed tractors & Bobtails. The auxiliary was opposite. It took me time to get learn. Going uphill was a challenge especially if I forgot which gear I was in or missed a gear and had to pull to the side and start all over. Your shifting is smooth and awesome compared to other videos I’ve seen. I’ve asked drivers today if they’ve driven twin sticks and none have. At least I had this experience and still could do it if there is a tractor with twin sticks.

The Peterbilt 359 is by far one of my favorite old school tractors. I'm also a huge fan of the old school cabover tractors. Like The Kenworth K100 an The old school White Frightliner cabovers. Also The Peterbilt 362's. They sure don't make them like they use to. Those where real trucks. Not the BS that they produce today. Love The Pete 359 Bubbles8V92.... Awesome Tractor

If you are paying attention, he never actually "double clutches." If you do it right, you only use the clutch to start and stop. The rest is done by feathering the throttle to match the rpm to the gear and the feel of the stick.

Firstly- cool video... now, on to reality. I started my career with one of those things , and I was around drivers who drove them all their lives. They made driver lose their hearing, they were god awful slow, they got lousy fuel mileage , they seldom went more than 250-300k without having to be in framed . I drive one for my first year trucking and I was sick and tired of that sound after the first week. That said, it is cool to hear it again, but as someone who grew up around them, I don't miss them really. I did give it a " like " though... for fun.
