The Buccaneer Lulamae "American Farm House may be the "WORST" Manufactured Home Ever Built!
This 3 Bedroom, 2 Bath home is 1832 Sq Ft of nothing but Cheap Craftsmanship, and Second Hand Materials. The quality of this home does not equal the asking price of $126,000.00 .
Buccaneer is owned by Clayton Homes Manufacture and is located throughout the United States. This seems to be the cheapest and lowest quality home visited to date! EXTREME FAIL, ULTIMATE FAILURE, FAILS

We bought our REDMOND home in 2015, It's gorgeous, 3/2 with a family room and formal living room, 2050 sq ft, Granite counter tops and solid maple cabinets, crown molding throughout even in the walk in closets. Along with a 10 x 10 site built shed to match, central air and all high end appliances. We paid $84,000 and you can not even tell that it's a modular home just by looking at it. So not all modules or mobile homes look like this.

Agreed. They're making such a big deal out of vinyl, but vinyl siding on a home is MUCH more preferable to wood (e.g. no maintenance, no painting, etc.). Also, obviously the unit they're in is far from finished, so of course there are areas that need touch-ups. And for between $115,000-$125,000 for 3 BRs, 2 BAs, and just under 2000 sq ft?! For only around $60/sq ft, and it's a friggin' steal!

I question what is a home? Some are happy living in Igloos, some are happy with corrugated steel, . Some demand the home on top of the snob hill, while others are happy with a single wide trailer in the middle of 100 acres. It amazes me how someone will put close to or over $200,000 for a home on a lot not even 2 acres in size then try to demand they can hunt on my land where I chose land over a fancy home. Home sweet home is not built with a hammer it starts with the heart.

I’ve seen this at my location in Alabama. My husband is a mobile home mover and there is no way in heck that it was done when you are viewing it. I seen this one first had experience and everything you pointed out would be fixed for sure. Who ever put that together was sloppy and didn’t seem to care or something, becsuee this exact one I seen was well put together, sturdy and beautifully set up. It is actually one of the better top in the list. The way houses are made these days, I promise you the foundation and square footage along with how it’s made it almost at best as a “house house”. The style that is being complained on in this video seems to be far fetched. I mean it’s suppose to be a style. It is a mobile home so there’s a reason it’s made the way it is. If it was heavier I doubt it could even be moved. To each their own but I adored this one.

Thank you both, I appreciate the opinion. This is a home we have loved at first sight for a while now. I appreciate that you found and pointed out all of the flaws, etc. I am just wondering if a person were to buy 'that' home could they negotiate or tell the dealer that they want all of these things fixed as a condition of purchase. I mean they are firm on the price, so why not be firm on the repairs? I would go through and have it all put in writing and have them go in and fix all of that stuff (jmho) unless they are stating 'as is' condition at which point I would have to consider purchasing elsewhere if they are not willing to negotiate the price.

And to charge $126K for something they did such a shoddy job on is ridiculous. What's more ridiculous is choosing to watch a video that had a pretty clear title, then asking why they dared to make the video. Maybe you should just do better at selecting which video to watch next time?

Pete, I myself was impressed by the layout and porch. Not making excuses for the quality, but the final assembly and inspection would have taken care of some of the items you pointed out. I was surprised that a metal roof was not an option or that outside materials were not optional. Some manufactures build their homes for the area they are sold in, a manufacturer close to a desert area would use materials more conducive to the area. Thought the price was a little high, should have been priced in the mid $80's or very low $90's. Good luck my friends with your house search.

This is apparently a damaged and or unfinished specimen of a house and if it's 126k it is way overpriced. The other tours of this house that I've seen are much more show ready and were really really impressive. Of course the salesman in those other videos didn't exactly point out the quality of the finishes you have pointed out so your input on this one is valuable. The layout of this home in my view is worth the tour and making some notes to repeat in a better quality build. What you have pointed out so well here is its always buyer beware in these situations. Fortunately if you love the farmhouse look it is what I would call minimalist. Simple, clean, and uncluttered. That leaves more room for higher quality materials and easier and or quicker construction for someone to DIY and save the money.

Not sure if it’s because it’s a year later or not, but we just spent 6 hours at 4 different locations and I think it’s either going to be the Lulamae or the Sumner. The craftsmanship was identical to the others we looked at, and they gave us a whole book on upgrades and nods we could do. It was actually a mirror image of that one too! The deck was on the right side of the home. Sinks were different. The wood on the entertainment center was real. The island was flat and smooth. As they’d say in the automotive field, “must’ve been built on a Monday or Friday”.

The model that you see on display is not the perfected model. It just pieced together and slightly staged to just show a model. It depends on how the dealer sets his homes up on his sales lot. I bought a Clayton earlier this year (2018) and it is similar in fit and finish. Although it does have smart siding, it's bowed out between each seam and one corner doesn't meet the other at a corner (near the skirting line). The cabinets are crude. One toilet was leaning and rocked (I had to cut the flange out and replace it). One wall was missing insulation (although overall the home is easy to heat and cool). The floor squeaks, the vinyl flooring is paper thin and one base cabinet (peninula) in the kitchen is sitting on top of the carpet on the living room side so the cabinet is sloped towards the kitchen. Nails coming through where the gun missed it's target and the trim itself is 1/8 inch vinyl covered particle board. I've had the manufacturer out twice to fix issues. The front door frame is bowed and the door has a wide gap when closed on the knob side. Of course I only paid $27,000 installed (including taxes). Its a 3 bdrm single wide 66 foot long x 14 wide. It has plenty of room for me and my daughter, but..........the dealer is a slouch, will not help with issues and refuses to even call me back (Trinity Homes in Abilene TX). I could have spent another $30,000 and got a really well built Titan home, but thought for the difference I could live with this one (and we do). So...you get what you pay for (sometimes). I'll bet you could get the same home in this video for a lot less at another dealer.

I believe I saw the same unit in Georgia as you. Yes, the price is more but remember this video was made 3 years ago before the pandemic. Prices have sky rocketed and it has nothing to do with the quality. I visited the dealer in the spring and they quoted me one price for this same model. Then I visited during the summer and they quoted me $10k more. This was in 2021. While that model I visited was fully assembled and impressive, it did have flaws. I noticed the flaws the second visit when I took my dad who is very cynical. My first visit was alone and I was so impressed with the quality of “mobile homes” that I was looking through rose colored glasses. Also, these models have a tad more customization than the guy in this video claims. You’re just going to pay for it.

I actually after seeing part of this video looked into owning a house like that, plus with my father working in construction was able to find out, the bubbles (lifts) on the counters and island, are normal if there has been humidity, and they usually do go away once humidity settles. So after learning that I felt more at ease. Plus it was most likely a bit chilly in there because as she mentioned, it still had a it of split to it as it was not fully set up, and there is also no working heating system. Honestly, after looking into owning homes like these and seeing what it takes to own them (which most items they point out) its doable.
