TRUTH. I have a set we bought in 2012, we bought a new home in 2016 with brand new set of samsungs. I sold the samsungs. Its 2024. Ive had to put a 30 dollar heating element in the dryer once, and a 13 dollar set of agitator dogs in the washer twice, but they are amazing. I will not not exchange durability for looks....ever.

Lady Kenmore was Sear's absolute top o' the line appliances. Luxury models. YES, KEEP THEM! They perform better than any brand/model sold today. Parts are still readily available & as you said, they're 100% mechanical so nothing can't be fixed. If you just can't bring yourself to use them, advertise & sell them. (personally, I don't care what color an appliance is, if it works well. As Grandpa told me once, "no good horse is a bad color.") Thank you for sharing your exciting, but herculean adventure! All blessings to you and yours in the new year!

Kenmore brand was manufactured by Whirlpool . Back in the '80's I worked at a company that made the little metal serial number tags that were attached to every unit . Whirlpool appliances was one of our customers and the Whirlpool and Kenmore tags were lithographed and stamped at the same time . Yes , they are a good brand .

Hi, hey I love these videos and I’m exhausted just watching you work! Lol The washer and dryer are so cool. I couldn’t scrap them either. You’re doing great on the videos. Also love those crocks you found. Really cool!

I feel you guy's pain. My wife and I were given a house by my in-laws that I've been working on for 5 years now. I've taken 8 15 yard dumpsters (4 full size dumpsters) out of the place and have barely made a dent in it. Got videos on my channel of it. Keep up the good work. Can't wait to see more.

You guys rock! The cleaning is back breaking work but the sorting has got to be mentally exhausting also. The masters of sorting! The honey is probably good. Love the washer and dryer. They dont make them that good anymore and its easy to keep them going. Now they only last maybe 5 years. Happy new year!

I bet they work like a charm still. Or you can ship them to me lol. 😂. Thanks for the videos as you say! lol take care have a happy new year…

That honey should be fine, the fact that its darkened is a pretty good sign that its safe. It's highly acidic and doesn't have much water in it so its hard for bacteria and microbes to survive. Anything silver should be stamped, dead easy to spot, usually on the back of the handle on forks and spoons, and on the blade on knives. Happy new year to you guys, looks like its going to be full of grafting getting this house back together.

Check with a local beekeeper about the honey. Bees might reclaim it and put it back to use in their hives.

Honey can be used to make MEAD ! Since the process involves some minor boiling - you can be sure that there would be no harmful elements in the finished product . Note : fully fermented mead takes about 10 -12 years to fully ferment out and be smooth enough to drink . Back in the '90's , I won several ribbons , in local competitions , for the mead that I brewed .

Hello. You are doing a great job. Much improved from the first couple of videos. People like a good renovation or restoration video. You can watch a few others with lots of subscribers to see how they do it. If you get enough subscribers, you can monetize the channel and get some reward for your effort.

My mother recently opened a 5 lb can of honey dated 1961. It is the best tasting honey ever. That is enough honey to last you a very long time.

The honey is probably the most valuable find yet. It would be a shame to waste it. It’s extremely microbial, but if you’re concerned you can always boil it and re can it. Or even make mead or cyser out of it. The fermentation process would purify it.

I think you might be able to cream the honey if it'sgone to sugar. The only knowledge I have about it came from a youtube video so I could be wrong. Definitely do some research before throwing it out! Any broken glass or pottery would make awesome mosaics. Thanks for taking us with you on this adventure!

The kitchen tile is most likely not asbestos tile. More likely armstrong vct tile. A favorite for people who like a vintage aesthetic and perfect for concrete subfloors.

Several online source suggest that VCT (vinyl composition tiles) can contain asbestos and you should have them tested before you do anything.

I was b. 1946 so of course I see things differently than someone younger. If you can't make yourself use the honey, use it for bird food. I think some of those items might be collectable. Not worth a lot but someone might do the happy dance to get it. A lot of it would be flea market. is that a radio on the top shelf? I knocked my 1965 transistor portable radio off the counter and now it doesn't work :-( Someone would snap those kitchen cupboards up. Do you have a Habitat or Humanity? If you could get that washer running it would be better quality than what you get now. I did the history of my house from 1853 to me. I researched all the owners. I got all the previous owners names from the courthouse. I had to visit the abstracts first but it was fascinating. I have saved everything in a big binder that I'll leave with the house when I have to leave it.

I'm really enjoying this video series. Great job. I love old homes like this. But here is something to consider : As old as that house is the windows are probably old single pane glass. Check out the cost of a new replacement window, then count up how many windows you have in that big old house. Could get very costly. If you decided to leave them, think about how inefficient they are with the cold winters where you are and how much it will cost to heat that house with the heat leaking out the inefficient old windows. Then comes how much money are you willing to pour into this fantastic house and will you ever get it out of it one day?. I speak from experience. Been there, done that. Love old houses but it comes with a caveat.
@urbanurchin59303 күн бұрын
In an earlier video - it was mentioned that some of the windows have been replaced with thermal , double-pane with vinyl frames .
@Ragnar85042 күн бұрын
I'd suggest storm windows instead if the old windows are in reasonable shape. There might even be old storm windows somewhere on the property. I seem to remember that one of the previous videos showed brass tacks with numbers on windows, these were usually fitted to identify which storm window or screen went where.

Keep the honey! Maybe you could pasturize it again to feel better about it.🐝
@brianandrews70992 күн бұрын
100% pure honey never goes bad (it can turn back to sugar in time but will reconstitute when heated), it will not grow or support bacteria so it would be safe to consume. That said, I could not eat it after being in that situation, either. You could dispose of it without any environmental hazards or, yes, the bees would be glad to have it back.
@1936steverКүн бұрын
If you don't trust the honey give it to a bee keeper. They can feed it back to the bees.
