Ahh! I struck KZbin gold with your wonderful video tour of Butchart Gardens. I visited once nearly 50 years ago, and haven't forgotten it ever since as one of the very best experiences of my life. Thank You, Tom! I recommend this for anybody's Bucket List! Beauty like this *does* grow on trees (and in gardens) at Butchart!

Perhaps you learned along the way, that it is pronounced Buu' chart Gardens. I enjoyed it grandly myself in June of 1973, took a vehicle over on the ferry as you did, a cold and windy morning, though warming to a beautiful day, with driving around the island and Victoria in the afternoon. It was, indeed, a journey of a lifetime, especially from Arizona. British Columbia was a real treat, Alberta too: we visited Banff, Lake Louise, the glacier fields, and many other superb and special places. At that time, Vancouver and Stanley Park were interesting too. Thank you for sharing. :)

I grew up in this same neighborhood. I never felt like I had to visit the gardens. I just had too many other things to occupy my mind as a young man than looking at flowers. Then one day I accompanied other family members on a tour of the Gardens. I must say I was pretty impressed.

Geeh, it sure didn’t look like that when I was there. It was wall to wall people in mid June. You were elbowed through the trails like cattle by bus loads of tourists. There was a band practicing rock music, not actually playing a full song... which to me was not indicative of a garden experience. After the amount we paid and the amount of years I’d waited to get to see the garden I was thoroughly disappointed. SO...Thank you for sharing this wonderful video. THIS would’ve been the experience I’d loved to have had.

I visited the Butchart once about 30 years or so ago. It was in April. The night before my visit it snowed. So I got to see tulip coming out of the white snow. What a rare sight, I thought, as I have not once seen pictures of tulip blooms against the white snow. Not until today.

i don't know if any one has mentioned this, but you say that this must be one of the most beautiful gardens in the world, but also in the Summer, July & August on Saturday nights, they have what I consider to be the World's best Fireworks show, and I've seen a few good ones. They also have really good musical concerts as well. It does get very crowded though! Good video Tom.
