Can Buchecha not pass the guard and play footsies? Yes. Can Garry pass the guard and choke? Of course. But which of those A games best suits MMA? BTW: I don’t know, that’s why I’m commenting on you tube else I’d be an MMA champion.

Without any experience at all, I just think old school pass and choke jitz is more relevant to grappling in MMA than is modern no gi which is currently heavily based on not passing and going for legs. Of course that can work in MMA, Ryan Hall is cool AF, but is it better suited than old school jitz? If old school jitz is better suited to MMA, then old school jitz people should be able to use their jitz more effectively in MMA. I think Buchecha is doing this.
