Great video Excellent explanations of Boucher bucktail series. I have heard tell of them but did not know what all the numbers meant. Really nice to teach when to use each item. What are their strengths and what are their weaknesses. Also seeing the fish catching scenes in Jan is like taking a starving man to a buffet. Like the set a lot. Also leaned a bunch about reels and which to use when. Thanks for taking the time to put that together. A couple of great teachers

Thanks Dave!!! You are da man! I am really glad you enjoyed the video! I will have more in-depth equipment tutorial videos coming out this winter too so stay tuned! Also, did you have any specific questions about the different Buchertails discussed in the video? Let me know!

What would you recommend for a heavy pulling bait reel (double 10 bucktails etc.)? Right now I’m looking at the Diawa lexa TW 400P-P, lexa HD 400PWR-P, the Okuma Komodo SS KDS-436P, shimano tranx 500, and the Diawa Prorex 400P-P. I would prefer a solid line pickup (in terms of spool size) and a gear ratio of 5.3:1 5.1:1 4.3:1 or 4.1:1

Deer S, sorry for the late response here... I love the LEXA PWR-P

Sunday I caught a 46+ and a 49 on a 500 in that chart/black, lost a 3rd that was another big fish. That's September and that's some bigger fish, northern MN so we like to see 50+, but they aren't so bad in the upper 40s either. They are built right

Like your video. Just wondering what is your start color. Black or brighter. I start with walleye colors or black tinsel. Just wondering what you guys start with.

Thank you so much Steve! I am really glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for the comment. You can't go wrong with Goldie Locks (gold blade / gold skirt). I have caught so many fish on that color combo in stained and clear waters and on cloudy and sunny days -and even at night. I do really like the new grape flame color JBO came out with about a year ago too - especially on stained waters. I have had many seasons when pink/pink "Elton John" 500 tinsel just hammers em'. Some years they are just all over that color. At night, you can't beat Elvis (chartreuse and white skirt). Hope that helps and keep the questions coming!

Thank you for all you do and great video. I see on Joe Bucher's Website that the #6 wide hook that you mention on the Magnum lure is unavailable to purchase. Do you have a link to where I can purchase these hooks somewhere else or do you know when they will be back in stock? trying to get ready for the season! Best of luck! Thanks for your time!

Vogt, hey dude sorry I am just seeing your comment now - KZbin seems to have changed something and I seem to have missed some very important comments! I am sure you have picked them up by now but here is the link! www.joebucheroutdoors.com/terminal-tackle/replacement-hooks Please let me know if I can help with anything!
