Best Buchla/Tiptop video that I have seen so far! A great use of the tech in a beautifully musical context. Thanks for posting it!

Amazing modules! The 281 is so wonderful -- having four functions to patch together is super great, and these oscillators, for all their simplicity, sound beautiful. Can't wait for the 292t.

Very fine patch, and something to aspire to. I’ve had my 281t for about 24hrs, and I think I’m trying to run before I can walk. Just two lanes in operation here I note…

I'd love to get my hands on both of these, like many I think. However, what jumps out most is the price that they are able to make these modules for. 209€ for the Quad Function Generator and 198€ for the Dual Oscillator is unbelievable! Makers such as Frap Tools, QARV, ALM, Ritual Electronics (etc), who already make function generators with the same possibilities, will be really hard pushed to compete with such low prices.

Dang that starlab sounds so good. Gotta get my hands on one for some cosmic calls.

Thanks. Great sounds. Very musical. I've been enjoying using these two modules for a couple weeks now. So much fun. I have them running into a Doepfer A101-2 Low Pass Gate. (Eventually, I will probably get the TT Buchla 292t Quad Low Pass Gate.)

I saw Suzanne Ciani perform last weekend after I got this modules last week and it inspired me even more. I have been trying to experiment with these to get to know them better but already have ideas bubbling with Buchla style techniques once the next modules arrive. One thing I need to explore more using the cycle input instead of the trig one. I think it just starts the function when it hits a certain point, so sending it some kind of slow LFO can have to cycle for a period and then stop with a gap in between (I’m using the 0chd module I got while waiting for these two arrive).

Lovely Ocean Soundscape... it made me feel as if I was a Dolphin swimming freely in the warm Ocean singing with the others... Then, every now and again, jumping out of the water into air, slightly turn then back into the Sea...☀🌌

Does the function generator act also as a VCA? Can you play the two together with the audio level of the oscillator being controlled by gate cv from a keyboard into the function generator. I’m very new to eurorack, thanks!

_"Does the function generator act also as a VCA?"_ *** Nah, it can only generate an envelope or be a LFO (sometimes also a VCO like in the 281t case) when cycled.

The 281 Quad Function Generator is one of the modules that make Buchla so special. Having it now available in euro is a real boon to the format. You make beautiful use of it here. Cross patching between gate ins and out, and function outs to rise/fall times is endless fun! Tying each of them together in different ways creates very organic networks of interdependency you will find befitting of your style. You may enjoy this example: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fHSkXp6ifKeVoMk
