Dirk was spitting a lot of rubbish there.... yeah fine, if you take a risky shot and it works out, fine. I understand taking risky shots because you were surprised. but that wasnt their best performance. I grew up being taught that a good hunter is one that can leave his finger straight. and if you take a risky, far off shot like that and you wound the animal (call of "back leg") you deserve some backlash.

I do the same thing when sitting in the passenger seat while hunting. Always glassing. Once spotted a mountain lion out of a moving vehicle at 800 yards. So cool!

That's so cool how it played out. The first 25 yrs of hunting, every buck I shot was off hand with most bucks running Now a 200 yd shot from a rest gets me shaking. To get a buck of a life time is fantastic.

Great job!! I had a similar situation. It was the biggest buck I had ever seen and it will be along time before I see another like it. I ended up not shooting because it would not stop. It has haunted me everyday ever since.

I think 200 is a little ambitious, looks like 150-160 mainframe buck and I don’t think those extras will get him there. Still a hell of a buck though.
