When I was a kid 1960s-1970s We had one TV in the house. My dad took over TV channel 11 every Saturday night and watched all the country music shows starting at 6:00 pm. That included Buck Owen’s. With the Willy Nelson show at the end of the night at 11:00 pm. Thanks for posting.

For me it was a different channel but it was the same way at my house back then. We just did not and would not miss those old country music shows, they were all great shows. Back when country music was country music, not this crap they are trying to call country music now days. How many people remember The Porter Wagoner Show or The Wilburn Brothers Show and if you was in Oklahoma you could watch the Jude and JodyShow. I had a uncle on my stepdad’s side that was a first cousin to Jody and he played a guitar a lot so we would go to Jody’s house or him come over to ours, either way they would get to gather somewhere and play music together just about all night. I can remember trying to get to sleep, and to listen them picking and singing half the night or more. But boy I think back on those days and wouldn’t trade them for anything.

@@rogerburton4880 These shows including the Buck Owens Ranch Show were on our television channel 11 Dallas. Great times!

I didn’t know Willy Nelson had a show. I would watch the Buck Owens and Porter Wagonner shows in Dallas.

Bill Mack passed away in 2020 and lived outside of Fort Worth TX. not too far where I'm located. His son Billy Mack is a local DJ here.

This duo never heard of them and it reminded me of The Collins Kids Lorrie & Larry Collins.

Faron Young's performance of "You Don't Know Me" with Don Rich kinda reminds me of Bing Crosby's early recordings (as a solo act) with Eddie Lang on guitar. Lang died in 1933 at age 30, while having surgery for a tonsillectomy. Bing had urged him to get the operation (which he regretted all his life).

if I recall that was a month before Jimmie Rodgers passed
@prycerobertson4695Ай бұрын
@@RockinEd Jimmie Rodgers (the Father of Country Music, not the rock and roll singer) passed away in May of 1933, two months after Eddie Lang. (Coincidentally, Jimmie Rodgers - the rock and roll star - was born in '33.)

Don Rich was killed in a motorcycle accident! Buck did buy him the motorcycle. Not the same as surgery.
@prycerobertson4695Ай бұрын
@@melvinhunt6976 Yep. It's sad that both Don Rich and Eddie Lang died way too young.

I wonder why they didn't show the youngest boy until the final shot? He was always such a little character.

As stated above, It's Jerry Wiggins. Also it is W.S Holland, not Collins 🙂
