Country music industry knew if your granddaddy gave his approval on Charlie Pride the man would make it. They were sure nervous until he did 😂 he knew top notch singing when it presented itself

I listened to Faron because of my mom's record collection. I always liked his voice and style. He was one one of those who lived the music he wrote. What a tragic ending to a legendary career.

I have almost all of Faron’s recordings, just loved his style a little over the top but he he could pull it off masterfully to me he was the quintessential country singer. I grew up in the 1950’s and 1960’s and his music brings back a lot of memories about that era when the real America was alive and well and we thought it would last forever.Great Artist

Very well done documentary, kudos to you all.. Faron was indeed a legend if there ever was one. Lordy he had his demons..... Maybe more than most. When it came to his work, nobody could touch him. Honest to a fault too. All our legends are pretty much gone now with the exception of a precious few. That alone really saddens me.

Faron and my dad were friends from the Air Force I believe. Faron took daddy to Jacksonville to meet Elvis at that debacle. They used to laugh about barely escaping with their lives. Faron, at the end made time to call all his old friends and catch up. Daddy said he was grateful for everything but he was not going to live with the health issues and catheters and such.

My favorite Faron Young story is the one about Roger Miller, who had just finished writing "In the Summer Time" while on Farons tour bus. It was the middle of the night and he woke faron up to play it for him. Faron said it was the "most F****** annoying song he'd ever heard and to go back to sleep". I don't remember which book I read it in, and I'm sure I heard in an old Ralph Emery segment with the one of the two.

Isn't it a shame that someone allowed him to get in such a funk that he killed himself. And then what do you know, Tom T. did the same., some sort of country singers 'Code of Honor- Code of Honor,... I've got a challenge for all of you 'young star wanna bes'. You take that title and make a hit with it!. But if you do you have to live up to Faron's code of honor and see that I get song writing credit and send me some money honey, cuz this ol songwriter, never had the courage to go to Nashville, is sinking down fast. I sang in New Hampshire at a rest area yesterday and I sang good!.. it was 28 degrees. I sang Navajo Rug,... Mary Ellen Carter,... The Dutchman,... Blues in the Bottle, I Saw the Light,,... Gordon Lightfoot 's I'll Tag Along for about 40 minutes[and a couple, three of my own.. I have busked since I was 22.I thought I'd make a little gas money, because as I've inferred, above, I'm not doing so well on the comfortably retired scene. Not a single person had the courage to come over and even talk to me . 😢. Yes, sir- ee bob! And these people were driving top of the line 60-80000 dollar vehicles. One kind lady 75 yards away yelled over:" you have a beautiful voice" or something like it[ok, it was only 40 yards} Oh, I did "Tumbleweed".-boot heels clicking time to an old flat-top box guitar,... He can heal your wounded heart and set your spirit free,.., raise your hopes to be the best...".Enough. No. Two beautiful amazing granchildren , Vaughan and Everlea. I won't be shooting myself soon, I pray. Faron deserved better. I want wrote a song about my brother, whom died too soon,... '.... Let there please, Lord,.. be a Heaven, so I can see him one more time" [it was a very long; the kind of songs that never could be played on the air waves. What I would tell songwriters these days, is"Let the feelings flow freely from the tip of your ball point smooth gliders and then go back and see what you have. Then do what Guy Clark once explained: move the sentiments around the page as if each segment were a piece of a puzzle. Just do it! Go to Nashville. Go to LA. Go to NYC as our beloved Bob did. It is a big mistake to try and stay local and make it big[if that is your intention] Peace and love to all and to all a good life. I myself am still trying to get back to the garden😊😢. Two sides of the same coin. Keep On the Sunny side
