This is by far the best rendition of Buckaroo I have ever heard, and I do search out the tune. There are about 20 versions of Buckaroo I have found and none can equal you . You have an incredible master of this tune. Bravo.

I'm with Dan... to seek perfection to exactly play the signature tune as Don Rich played it is like playing a piano concerto like Van Cliburn did... I'm picky and my cousin told me about Tom Brumley since Bryan was atop level pedal steel pro. There was no one like Don Rich outside of a few guys like Glenn C. and Marty S.

Just excellent, Don Rich smiles on you from wherever he may be! I recently ran across Buckaroo for the first time in a while and it reminded me how much fun country guitar can be. I've ordered a Hipshot b-bender for my Tele specifically to play the pedal steel part of the song altho I'm sure it will come in handy for all kinds of classic tunes. Thanks for sharing this performance.

Whew... that one sent chills ... I never saw anybody play it better except Don Rich. And compared to him 'nobody is worthy' (Wayne's World geek quote). This fellow can pick! And I know some players, including my cousin in TN who was one of the top pedal steel players for decades in the country music business.

Encore bravo.

Patrick, I have watched this song played at least a 100 times by a dozen guys and have reached the conclusion that yours is the best version, even better than Don Rich himself. It's the steel guitar improvisation and the harmony of the melody after 1:37 that makes it for me. Nice pickin.
