Buckethead's signature guitar is about as out there, unique, and original as his playing. I had no idea for years that his Les Paul is almost as big as a bass. That's right, it's the only baritone, 24 fret Les Paul out there, nevertheless the two Atari style kill switches. This is, without question, one of the most unique Gibsons out there, one that matches the artist it represents down to the weirdest details.

As a 7 string player (26.5 scale) I’m in love with this Gibson, that’s just awesome. They need to make more guitars like this where they take a risk cause man it’s just so cool

You def want to use heavier strings because it's longer so if you use 10s they'll seem like 8s. I think I put 11-52 and tuned it to c#...I like the feel of 9s so that is about what it feels like when playing 11s on a 27 inch tuned to c#. Hope that helps brother 🤘🤘

Everyone was playing the LesPaul at one point when Buckethead got his signature and before him the Justin Hawkins limited production one was pretty wild. The rumour was the buckethead pickups were based on Air series Dimarzios of some kind? If however you love exotic inlay materials, the Justin Hawkins Les Paul will make you lose your mind. Justin also had a rare seashell custom shop Les Paul they should have released, it had the coolest body carves. But I've got a feeling you have a Zakk Wydle and Adam Jones pair of Les Pauls hidden somewhere...

I got the pickups totally wrong. He has the 500t in that which is a ceramic pickup from Gibson. It's one of my favorites ever. I can't begin to tell you how awesome it sounds playing chords and getting overtones. I love those ceramic gibson pickups but they're love/hate. I think they sound better than the dimarzios
@ianyoung8392

I don't think people know enough about the bridge and neck pickups of Gibson and PRS in comparison to the understanding of Dimarzio and Seymour Duncan pickups. Maybe, especially as you have so many guitars in maple/mahogany/rosewood, you could compare all the Gibson and PRS most famous bridge pickups with the most recognised 3rd party models? I know of the 500T, the Burstbucker but knowing their names doesn't put into context how they compare to say an EMG 81 or 85 in the bridge, Dimarzio D Acttivator X/ToneZone/Evo versus Duncan Dimebucker/JB/Nazgul. Everyone roughly understandings the hearts and souls of those pickups and comparing them to the best of Gibson/PRS OEM pickups would be something not done before...@@TheNeuroticGuitarist

@ianyoung8392 I have been doing that dude, take a peak at some of my shootouts. I have a les paul one w the 57s against the 490/498 vs the 57+ and a PRS one with the 85/15 vs the 85/15s vs the T and B. There's still a lot more to do, but I've been doing that! Working on a Gibson one of the bust bucker pros vs the probucker 1 and 2s! Rock on! 🤘 thank you for watching. Please subscribe and join the madness. 🙌

@@TheNeuroticGuitarist awesome news, I hope you do some AB comparisons so people hear the generation differences. So 50's versus 60's all the way to now. But all in Les Paul/Singlecut shaped guitars as the control factor. I don't know how many generations of Gibson pickups there are tbh. But 50's original pafs compared to a Dimarzio 36th Anniversary. 60's/70's (Bill Lawrence influenced pickups?) versus other modernised paf like the SD JB and the Dimarzio SD. 80's EMG 81/85, Bill Lawrence L500XL and Dimarzio PAF Pro. 90's Dimarzio Tone Zone, PRS Dragons, Suhr pickups. 2000's Duncan Dimebucker, Dimarzio Crunchlab, PRS Tremonti, Duncan Invader. 2010's - present. Bare knuckle Nailbombs, Dimarzio D Activator X, Duncan Omega. If you have a collection of guitars that can reflect a similar timeline of tone for fat sounding pickups for fat mahogany Les Paul/Singlecut guitars that would be very interesting to me. It's the comparison of the brands and styles I like the most. In that list you could weave the popular Gibson and PRS pickups I'm not so familiar with (as well as otherwise brands). Wave forms in the video would make it very sexy as you change amps and pickups. I would never dream of suggesting something like this to anyone except you actually have the resources. Signature bridge and neck pickups compared is also something that could be really cool. Slash, Zakk, Mustaine, Tremonti, Hetfield, Malmsteen, Eric Johnson, Vai, Bettencourt... All very interesting tones when comparing just bridge or neck pickups. Those are just examples but having the recipe of mahogany, maple cap and rosewood fretboard means you have a very strong control factor when making videos with lots of guitars. Most videos have pickups in lots of different guitars whereas your singlecut/Les Paul collection blows that away, blue ocean strategy my G.

Hey 👋🏻 Benny hope all is well with you , your lady and your new pad / studio ! ( been so busy with work I haven’t had much time for anything else but I’ll be checking your channel again soon 👍🏻 in a few minutes actually. ) I’m a huge Buckethead fan and I listen to him for at least 6 hours a day at work and sometimes even way more if I’m working Overtime… Just to let you know As of this week Buckethead just released solo Pike album # 660 ! 😮 yeah that’s not a type o mistake! + the 150 or so regular ( not considered a pike albums), colab albums with other artists / bands and soundtrack albums as well ! 😄 as far as music he’s put out there … far as I know he has more music released than anyone who ever walked the earth 🌎 no one else is even remotely close! Not that I’ve ever heard of anyways. His Bucketheadland “ Pikes” ( solo experimental album/Ep’s , he just plays whatever he feels like recording and releases whatever he wants to on this series . Someone programs the drum tracks , but he plays all of the bass , rhythm and lead parts ( live I believe he just plays mostly the lead parts ) I’ve been having his “Pikes” in very heavy rotation for well over a decade and it’s flat out crazy! 🤪. And I’ve still only heard about 70% of it ! He really covers almost every style you can imagine. He always changes it up and the best part is you never know exactly what it’s gonna sound like. It could be funk bass and guitar or serene and mellow acoustic or a half hour electric Facemelter! Or sometimes many different styles combined. I can’t say enough about how insanely great his skills are, his imagination is endless. He releases about 4 pikes to sometimes 10 of them every week! ( when he isn’t touring) Sometimes I can barely keep up ! He’s a guitar killing machine that don’t stop ! And you ain’t kidding about them crazy ass huntsman spider fingers ! 😄 it’s simply astounding to watch him play in live videos! 😮 I always constantly have new music to listen to and he’s Absolutely Fk’n Awesome! 🪣🎸👑🤟🏻 You’ve probably heard his most popular songs like Soothsayer etc. so Check out some of ( to people that don’t normally listen to Buckethead I mean) lesser known ones I love _Pike 66 - Leave the Light On ( track 1- it’s awesome dude ! ) _Pike 274- Fourneau Cosmique _Pike 37 -Hollowed Out (track 6-Trading Post ) _Pike 26 -Worms for the Garden _Pike 119-Solar Sailcraft (track 2 -Flying Saucer) _Pike 51- Claymation Courtyard (track 1) some killer hybrid picking on this! Sounds wicked cool and 🤔I had no idea what the hell he was doing at first to get that sound! 😄 - Disintegration Mirrors ( track 2) _Pike 123-Scroll of Vegetable - track 1 - Nest Boxes _Pike 296 - Ghouls of the Graves ( track 1) - Star Serpent(track2) - Glass Mines (track3) These are just a few of the faster /shred style ones I like that most people probably haven’t heard , you’re a very busy dude so here’s some songs that you probably haven’t had time to hear yet , Godamn is he Freakin Faaast 😮 and smooth! I know it’s late and much like me… you’re probably awake doing music stuff! The best things always seem to happen after Midnight 🦇 for me anyways 😄 Happy Listening brother 🤜🏻🤛🏻😊.

Bucketheads guitars were stolen about when this was made? Is that his actual guitar??? Like it would be aged and have “tan lines” on the white where his arm rested. He toured with a guitar like that. Not accusing anyone of anything, I just know someone sold them on the 2nd hand market. So anyone could have one or them. He posted that he had 10 of his most important guitars in life stolen. One or two were bought by fans that recognized them and then returned them. Would be cool, kind of, if that is/was his actual personal Gibson Les Paul.
