l have the DVD, and yes was amazing and a game changer. Hendrix was years ahead of anything of his era. But still BH seems to me more complete and extremely technically miles away from Jimi. Jimi was a master of distortion and perhaps the first one to dig deeper the unexplored lands of the guitar universe. But BH seems to dominate those areas with effortless epic compositions. For me Hendrix kicked the door, Page paved the way, Beck put the lights on and BH expanded this universe.
@kookamunga24585 жыл бұрын
Hendrix was not around long enough to spread his wings so to speak and was mismanaged by management . I like Zappa , Hendrix Bucket head and not just music with the guitar out front. Amon Duul 11 is pretty good too and Bowie .
@danielhicks48264 жыл бұрын
Oh yah its a levels game to, Hendrix for his time was very good in skill and speed, technique to ya know all hat and it more then holds up just period all time,Hendrix will always Clapton as well who was slower and less "fancy" I guess you could say both will always be and are all time greats and to be a great ytou have to have elite skill/technique/at least some decent speed/ and creativity all of that 100 percent.....with that being said then you have new era guitar players who really exploded on the scene in the late 70s-80s to present then you bring in a class of guitar players like say Van Halen...then you go to Joe Satriani and Steve vai/ and opposite musical extremes genre wise but just as great and fast and technical as some of them are would be greats /legends like Al Dimeola-my personal favorite- John McLaughlin and Paco Delucia....then after all of that then! you have greats like a Paul Gilbert-who Buckethead himself learned from in person for while and was inspired by-and of course Buckethead himself.....both Buckethead and Paul gilbert are simply from a technical standpoint 2 of the best ever in history and always will be, from a purely speed/technique/skill stand point they are not just ahead of Hendrix and Clapton and them, but they are significantly like way way wayyy ahead of them when it comes to pure technical playing/speed/skill etc. that's not to diminish the greatness of course for the time but all time and the future of greats legends like Clapton and Hendrix...its just to show just how damn great Guitar players like Paul Gilbert and Buckethead truly are, they are modern day greats/legends, and they will go down as two of the single most technically/skilled/ fastest guitar players and most creative as well in all of history!.
