i find that if you wet the sand before you run it in the sluice, you get more because the floatable gold in the hydroscopic sand.

If you haven't yet I'd check in all those black rocks right in the water line. All the heaviest pieces seem to be getting concentrated right there by the water so it makes sense that there might be some larger gold there too. Man you guys in Wisconsin and BC (Dan Hurd anyone?) are lucky you get to use high bankers. Here in California you can't use any motorized pump, everything has to be stream powered and can't be on the bank at all. I wonder if I'm the only person that hears "Wisconsin" and instantly hears "Get your god damn Wisconsin ass back to bed Snowhill!" :D Gotta love Men of Honor. Would've been funnier had he done the stuttering Wuh Wuh Wuh Wisconsin thing but hey he was supposed to be pissed at the time.

As a humble request from a long time viewer, could you and Rigby, that old slave driver, please do an informative video on the Lake Superior areas that have potential gold bearing sands? Not looking to poach your stomping grounds, BTW. Looking to plan a trip with the grandkids up there next year. Rockhounding, metal detecting and gold propecting delight, I am sure. Michigan is very tight lipped as to such beaches. While I am stuck here in the former Black Swamp...near Frogtown, Ohio...

I remember seeing those black sand deposits at Ft. Niagara beach (on Lake Ontario) when I was a kid, and thought it was just all the nasty chemicals getting soaked up somehow by the sand! AMAZING stuff there Jason, thanks for sharing w/us all! 🐉🐉🐉

I like running up and down the beach like a maniac....when not too hot out. It's just been way too hot for me. That is a great result. I was surprised how big the pieces were. I thought they would be much smaller on the beach. Bee groovy. Love the camping scenes.

The stratified layers of black sand at 2:48 looked cool! Always nice when nature does a lot of the work for you. Nothing like trading some calories for gold. Stay hydrated and "nutrified" ! Are you allowed to use hydraulic mining there on the beaches? You are already using a highbanker with pump but could you use a suction-nozzle and use that to dig with for an easier time? You would probably have to use dream mat to handle the high load of sand and still catch the fine gold but I'd be very interested in the results!

So can you use a clean up re circle sluce to run beach sand like set it up an use v mat or some other clean up mat an keep water to it all day so it dont "clog or gunk" up your riffles i think it might work idk ima roomie this is my 2nd year panning an all last summer i found a half g so far this summer i found a full g

Cheers, Scotland! I spent the better part of 30 days traveling around Scotland. My twin & I took our Mom (now 93) to Scotland so she could see her castle (Huntly Castle - Gordon Highlander Country). She inherited the castle when she was a teenager; she signed it over to the Scottish Government as it would be far too expensive to restore. Yep, Mum got to see her castle. It was a moving experience (we all cried including our husbands!). I hope to get back there someday soon. From a Gordon Highlander living in Sacramento, California. Slange ❤
