I would like to say something to everyone that watches this channel. This man works harder than any other KZbin creator that I know of. On top of that, he does it with good intentions. He isn’t trying to get rich. He is trying to help people, and make the world a better place. I know this to be true because he hasn’t sold out to a bunch of sponsors. I don’t think that there is anything wrong with accepting sponsorships at all, as long as they are companies that have good products and integrity. Buckin is so serious about this that he has passed up many opportunities just to make sure that his love and integrity remains unquestionable. I respect that a lot… We receive so much from his work, and he doesn’t even charge us for it… After watching him for 6 or 7 years now, I am certain that he is deserving of way more than he is getting. I would like for us to get together and start paying the man. It’s only right. All of us chipping in through donating on his website, or super thanks on KZbin, would change his life. I fully believe that we owe this man for his work…. I don’t know how this will go over, but I don’t care. I want to see Buckin and his family get all that they deserve…. It’s the least I can do. Thank you all in advance! I know that I am writing this to a bunch of great people!

I'm an 8 acre homestead owner in NE Georgia, and it's only been one year. Most of my life has been in the suburbs. Bought my first gas powered (Echo 18") chainsaw at Home Depot less than year ago and I haven't cut anything over 40' high yet on our property. What I really enjoy about your videos is how it's a combination of technical knowledge and life experience. You've turned into an art. As I move up in my tree cutting skills, your videos have let me see more than the tree. I look for the wind, the ants, the limbs, the lean, the slope, the chain, the wedges, my stance, and the surrounding trees. The old saying, "you don't see the forest for the trees," is quite apt in felling. Thank you for your videos.

I live in SE GA, howdy neighbor! Im 53 now but back when I was 21 some friends and I worked for a company trimming right-of-ways for the EMCs in our areas. It mostly included bucket truck work with hydraulic saws, we did alot of scrub brush and felled alot of trees. Them tall pines will really get your heart beating wont they! It was felling them accurately that used to make me sweat the most. The largest we did was an old dead oak tree. We had a three foot bar and it met with a one inch of overlap when cut from both sides. I didnt make alot of money at it but I really enjoyed that job. Stay safe!

I lived and worked at a remote sawmill in the late 70's, early 80's. We mainly handled (Australian) mountain ash, which grow up to 300 ft tall and up to 14ft in diameter, we got up to 70 tons of timber from a single tree. Every one of them had a "heart", which is the rotten ant infested core, hearts were roughly a meter (3ft) in width. the lowest 15-20 ft of the trunk was filled with a soft, red clay like substance left by the termites (ants). Ocassionally we got a log with ants still living in it, the nest woud fall out and a couple of yards of clay and ants would land on the floor and bring the mill to a halt while we shovelled it into a trailer. PS: Nice job with the chainsaw, and I loved the goodwill message at the end. :)
@newbluerugby2 жыл бұрын
I recently cut down a tree in my yard w the same infestation, exactly as u describe just not nearly as large. Does that “clay” like substance have any use? What is it exactly? Is it the ants defecating out the wood they’re eating?

Cut a little 3' hemlock that was obviously rotten a few years ago. It was near the driveway, so a threat to anybody coming up it. It broke apart all over my driveway. It was a good 3-4 hours before I could pick up/buck all the "Tree Trash". Wood was self-splitting, practically blew apart into firewood on its own. Beatiful trees, though.

I've been subscribed for several years. Maybe 5 or 6 even. If I subscribed before my latest job change, it might have been 7 years. My point? The previous video I watched earlier today was the first of your videos that have been suggested to me by KZbin in 2 or more years. What's up with that? I'm glad I'm back in your face, though, and love your content. It's always clean, entertaining, and enlightening. What more can a senior citizen ask of a youngster like you? Nothing on earth. Of course, the best thing I have is a beautiful woman at my side, and 23 (and counting) grandchildren. That is the frosting on the cake of life. Their parents gave my bride and I plenty of tough times, joyful times, and the times in between, but the sweetest thing is their children who love me unconditionally, and almost always have a smile for me. I spoil them with knowledge, not treats, too. When they are tiny, but interested in life, I carry them outside and teach them the colors of my bride's nice flowers, and what types of grasses, trees, shrubs, flowers, chickens, cats (to eat the mice that feed on the chicken feed), mourning doves, sparrows, hawks and falcons, the infrequent raccoons, and the even more infrequent mink... I don't let them think mink will be nice because they are nasty animals. I've heard of only one person who has tamed a mink, and that's Joseph Carter The Mink Man, whose channel is very cool.
