This was really cool seeing those two models running side by side. I didn’t realize the xl 12 was so similar to the 10-10. What fuel:oil ratio do you use in them?

It would be interesting to take the time to take saws that are comparable and move the chain from one cut to the other saw and then back a couple of times. Yes, it would be a pain in the butt to do it. But it give you the best head head comparison.

OUR SITUATION IS A BIT DIFFERENT! . My wife and I go camping in the back-country of southern Wyoming. Around 2010, there was a pine-beetle epidemic that killed about 70% of the trees in the forest. . In recent years, those old dead trees are now falling over blocking roads and trails into the places that few people travel. At first we used a hand crosscut saw to remove a tree, but that took a long time. . So, my wife bought us a Makita 16-inch bar battery chainsaw. Why battery? So, it wouldn’t stink up the SUV or camper with gasoline fumes. Gasoline fumes take a long time to leave your car, often weeks. . But, I’m retired and I would go up by myself during the week to go camping and Rose would join me on weekends. So she needed a saw too so she could get into places where I was camping. Big dead trees are constantly falling over and it’s getting worse every year. . Since we have spent our careers in an office, we had no idea how to properly use a chainsaw and not get hurt. And now bigger trees are falling over. It used to be we’d have to deal with a 15-inch diameter tree blocking the road. Now, some of those trees are in excess of 35-inch and the Makita isn’t able to get all the way thru. So, we now have a 20-inch bar gasoline saw. That gives us the ability to deal with a 40-incher. . After watching videos like yours and practicing in our local woods, my wife, Rose, is able to remove a big 30-inch diameter 10-foot section of tree in the road. She can buck up a big tree and drag it out of the way using tow straps and her Rav4 and do it all by herself. She carries a chainsaw, tow straps, wedges, and an axe in her Rav4. . Eventually, all the dead trees will all fall over. But, until then, we need to use a chainsaw.

What recommendations do you have for keeping the glass clean or is it just constantly cleaning it just one of the nature of the beast?

The nature of leather is it is an absorbent material with pores, that is how it can absorb treatment and why it absorbs water. Ive used huberds shoe grease, obenauf heavy duty lp milk oil etc. You will reduce water absorbtion, but the leather will never be physically waterproof. The obenauf is what i come back to time after time.
