Buckin’, I’m a firefighter/paramedic in the northeast US by trade and a part time woodchuck on the side selling fire wood and recently getting into milling lumber. I have learned a lot from watching your videos and recently I have gotten my 3 year old son absolutely addicted to watching you drop some real big trees. He gets so excited when it falls. When you mention that gut feeling; tension, angst when back cutting, darned, that’s me. I don’t believe I’ll ever change as these last moments before felling cause me to rethink, re-examine, double check my calculations. For me I think I need that worm in my belly. Had a tree come over the road up by my place this morning (in New Zealand), would have been at about 24 inches on the stump, one of the lads clearing it was running a Stihl 462 on a 32 inch bar that for sure was ported and piped because that thing was wailing like a banshee. But I swear that Poulan 655 cuts so much harder. What a beast. I want one now She cuts eh?
